Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Gateway of new reality

Caira stepped forward, her heart pounding in her chest. She could feel the timestream surging around her, the fabric of reality tearing apart. She knew she had to act fast, or risk losing everything.

The voice laughed, a sound that echoed through the gateway. "You can't stop me," it said. "I have the power of the timestream on my side."

Caira drew her sword, its familiar weight a comfort in her hand. "I won't back down," she said, her voice firm.

Kael stood beside her, his own sword at the ready. "We'll stop you together," he said.

Liam hesitated, his eyes fixed on the gateway. "I don't know if I can do this," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Caira turned to him, her expression encouraging. "You have to try," she said. "We need you."

Liam nodded, his jaw setting in determination. "Okay," he said. "I'll try."

Together, the three of them stepped forward, ready to face whatever lay ahead. The gateway loomed before them, its power growing by the second.

As they entered the gateway, Caira felt the timestream surging around her. She saw visions of the past and present, fragments of time itself torn apart by the voice's power.

She stumbled, her mind reeling from the sheer force of the timestream. Kael caught her, his arm around her waist.

"Keep moving," he shouted above the din of the gateway.

Caira nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew she had to keep going, no matter what.

They pushed forward, the gateway's power growing stronger with every step. Caira felt her grip on reality begin to slip, the timestream's chaos threatening to consume her.

And then, suddenly, they were through. They emerged on the other side of the gateway, gasping for breath.

Caira looked around, her eyes adjusting to the bright light. They were standing in a vast, empty space, the walls lined with strange machinery.

The voice spoke, its tone triumphant. "Welcome to the new reality," it said.

Caira's heart sank. She knew they had to stop the voice, before it was too late.

"We have to destroy the machinery," she said, her voice firm.

Kael nodded, his eyes scanning the room. "Let's do it," he said.

Liam hesitated, his eyes fixed on the machinery. "I don't know if I can do this," he said.

Caira turned to him, her expression encouraging. "You have to try," she said. "We need you."

Liam nodded, his jaw setting in determination. "Okay," he said. "I'll try."

Together, the three of them set to work, determined to stop the voice and restore the timestream to its rightful course.
