While considering her options, Marcy made a firm decision.
"Accept the rejection."
George's expression darkened. "Do you really think it'll be that easy to get rid of me?"
"This... us... it's not feasible," Marcy tried to explain. "My father will never allow it. Both of us would be punished."
"How touching that you worry about my well-being," George sneered. "Believe me, your concern is unnecessary. Moreover, aren't you worried about jeopardizing your chance to become the Luna of the Dark Howlers pack? Instead of fantasizing about Alpha Damon, you should be concerned that the Moon Goddess will punish you for rejecting your mate. How can you even entertain thoughts of another when your true mate stands before you, vital and very much alive? Your wolf must be getting weaker. Are you even capable of shifting anymore?"
Marcy compressed her lips into a thin line. He was correct. Her wolf was weakening, and she hadn't been able to shift.
