Adrienne would be lying if she claimed she had no feelings for Lennox Qin. It was too late to deny it after almost baring her heart to him earlier. To think she had kissed him so recklessly, Adrienne couldn't help but wonder if she'd regret it later.

Lennox, stunned in his seat, reacted instinctively by grabbing her hand, preventing her from leaving. They locked eyes, neither saying a word, trying to read each other. Adrienne let out a low gasp when Lennox drew her in closer—enough for her to fall into his embrace. As she snapped out of her shock, she realized she was sitting on his lap.

Adrienne wanted to stand up. She hadn't sat on someone's lap since she was a child in her mother's embrace, and despised being treated childishly by Lennox. What she failed to see was that Lennox regarded her not as a child, but as his woman.
