"Aiden just left in a hurry. He said Mr. Everhart needed him back at the base urgently, but I didn't receive any call about it."
Julian, who was just about to step outside to get into this car, froze upon hearing this. "What? He left? When?" His voice was sharp and commanding.
"Just a few minutes ago, sir," a man replied nervously.
Julian's mind raced. He knew something was wrong. "Track his car immediately," he told the man behind him "and call Rob." His gaze darkened with flames of anger. He then turned around and went back into the warehouse.
Back on the road, Aiden sensed the urgency of their situation. He pressed harder on the gas pedal, the car accelerating down the snowy highway. Emily's heart raced as she glanced at the dashboard clock. Each passing minute felt like an eternity.
