As the twins quickly finished their breakfast and got ready for school, Emily turned to Carla. "Carla, could you please drop them off to school on your way to work today?" she asked, her eyes filled with mixed emotions. Carla understood immediately and nodded.
"Sure. " with a reassuring smile, she added. "Alright, kids, say bye to Mommy and Daddy." .The twins gave Emily and Alex each a big hug before leaving the room with Carla.
As the door closed, the room fell into a tense silence.
"Did you..." Alex broke the silence, his voice heavy with the questions that had plagued him all night. He needed to know if Emily had regained her memory.
"Yes," Emily answered immediately, cutting him off. Silence settled between them again, both weighed down by their complicated emotions.
"Can you help me reach out to Julian?" Emily asked, her voice uncertain. "You know where he is, don't you?"
