In the two rivers village they are spotted two people,by looking from a far they look like they have been lovers for a long time,the lady is holding a small black bag with one hand and the man is holding the other as they walk closely until they reached the train station,the lady moved closer, wrapped her hand on the man's neck and looked at him with teary but filled with love,worry and saddens even though she was smiling lightly.
"Jo,I beg you please do not forget me because I love and depend on you,her eyes couldn't hold the tears anymore and she let them flow without a care in the world as she was saying goodbye to her love,you and your mother are the family I have now",she paused to dry her tears using the edges of her white floral blouse.
"Ray!ray look at me the guy said as he touch her cheeks to lift up her head,do not worry okay,I promise you whatever I get I will wire it to you,I won't allow you to struggle anymore, remember the only reason am leaving to the city is to change our lives,I don't want us to remain small farmers all our lives as the world is developing my love",he gave her a kiss on he forehead and hug.
She watched him board the train Wich was slowly starting to depart,she waved at him sadly the started running trying to reach his arm as the train pick up the pace and disappear in the tunnel.
"Excuse me that is my seat,move over,"a female voice woke up Jo from his light sleep.
"Sorry about that",Jo replied. quickly without stealing a glance to whom he was answering and went back to sleep.
The train had made a stop at one of the station so few more passengers have boarded while others alight.
"You have arrived at your destination,thank you for travelling with us and welcome back",a female announcer voice echoed inside the train as it was slowing down.
His head hurt.There was a sound of grating against his mind,a rustling of paper.Somebody was crumbling it even harder into a crackly ball and stuffing it into his ears.Wake up,it shouted.Wake up.
"Stop it,'he croaked.And it did.The sound faded away until the words she was was expecting to heard vanished from her mind.
"Sir?'we have arrived please get off the train.
"Sorry about that miss,"Jo apologized as he grab his things and head towards the exit,he let off one deep sigh and get off.Paradiso station was quite, gentle and cool breeze filled the air,birds chirping and the sounds of the wave from the ocean was heard from afar,this town surrounded by the sea was growing up very fast and all sorts of jobs and manual labor were in high demand,a perfect spot for making a living.
The sight of tall buildings made of glass,busy roads,large population of people walking around without minding one another, street delicacies gave Jo hope that the next day will be a better and bright one.
"Eyes on the prize Jo",he murmed to himself.
As Jo approached the station gate that lead inside the town ,the sounds of the train seemed to dull.The laughters,car honking become louder and louder but suddenly someone bumbed into him.
"Are you okay miss",Jo asked.
"Yes, a sweet voice replied,as the lady raised her head Jo was shocked.
The stranger was not just beautiful.Her long hair carefully combed gleamed like honey,and she had soft skin,pink lips,curled eyelashes, beautiful eyes that were sparkling,in that pink floral dressed she was magnificent.
Jo could only assume she was coming from a glamorous party .
"Ooh,it's you,the mister from the train earlier,you were on my sit,come with me",she said grabbing his hand and started running into the nearby alley.
They kept running through the alley until the came across an underground tunnels and hide there without speaking to each other for a while,the heavy panting and loud heartbeats were the only thing that could be heard.
"I think we lost them,let's go",she whispered
"We?,hey miss don't you think you are being a little rude here,?you can't just drag me into your mess just like this without my consent,this is abduction",Jo replied .
"Abduction?what are you saying don't be absurd,I just saved your life",
"Look I don't know what is going on put don't get me into your mess,let go off my hand I have to go",.
The lady dropped to her kness."I am sorry I can explain,I..... I didn't mean to…. do that',she whispered slowly.
Jo bent down and hold the lady both hand to help her stand before asking her anymore questions as she seemed scared and to be in troubled by the looks of how fast she ran without any thoughts of anything but to hide from whoever was chasing her down.
'Explain yourself ',Jo asked while struggling to cleared his throat and break the silence.
'I got mugged and lost everything and can I follow you for now until I reach where am headed?',she asked softly.
'Miss you can't,I don't have a budget for two and I don't like kids following me around ',Jo replied.
Jo started walking out of the alley into the town again,'Are you coming or what?',Jo asked loudly as he continues to walk away.
'Right behind you sir',the lady answered in excitement as she run to catch up with him.
That night Jo lay awake, watching the dim flickering of the lowered lights and the silver-grey spider webs edging across the ceiling of the small room that he rented for the night in a small shubby hotel that he could afford,he slept on the ground while the young girl took the bed,the day was not what he expected but he thought that there are better days ahead there is no reason to give up hope now, it's only the beginning of dreams he hold dearly close to his heart.
Jo closed his eyes to sleep as his thoughts continue to run wild in his brain, first day has come to an end in paradise.
