After some few weeks,there came a sense that a little rest had solved all the fatigue that he experience at the province.
"Son we need to talk,"said Amber,Jo's mother.She let out a long breath,and stared at the large vase that were starting to wither.For a moment she looked somewhat at a loss,then she sniffed them,smiled and picked them up and head to the dustbin and throw them in.
"First of all…we need to decide about your marriage before you are introduced to the political world,you are going to take your father's place since he is retiring soon,you have to learn the ropes as soon as possible,you need an intelligent woman to back you up",
"My what?",Jo's jaw dropped.
"Yes,your marriage,it's your turn to fulfill you part of the deal,you promised to do anything that your father and I decide before we let you run to the province to see that childhood friend of yours and the woman that you decided to acknowledge as your other mother just because you have her son's heart in your body,we decided to let you stay with her because we will always be indebted to her,you are of age and it reasonable for you to do this son".
"I can't get married ",Jo replied as he walked away, grab his car keys and left the house.
Amber stood up and watched as her son disappeared in the distance.Was this it?.These youngsters don't listen to what the elderly have to say anymore.He left without even saying where he is heading?.
Amber left to meet a shaman in the nearest small town that they always consult whether family or political affairs of theirs,they had aggred to let her stay in their home to help with the wedding since Jo was a stubborn one
"Hey man,what a surprise,when did you get back dude?,you have been gone for so long ,you left all of a sudden without even a goodbye,I thought I will never lay my eyes on you again,my heart was broken",Enock said while hugging Jo tightly.
"Quiet being a drama queen,will you?,what are you,twelve?",Jo replied pulling him away from him.
"Man,I need help,I just can't do what my mom says; anymore,can you imagine they are planning an arrange marriage for me,at this age".
"I feel sorry for you,poor thing,what are you going to do now?, didn't you go to the province to see that childhood sweetheart of yours,what happened anyway,tell me all about it".
"Am in love with her,I really am but you know what my parents will say,am thinking about going away and disappearing from their sight,that way they won't bother me again,what do you think?".
"About that it will be difficult since your family have a lot of connection,it will take few minutes before they find you,how about…'.
'Say it already,what is it? am holding my breath you know ".
"Why don't you go on a few dates with the lady and find some flaws that your family will dislike and tell them,how does my plan sound, brilliant yeah".
"That may work,am leaving now,I'll update you".
"You are not staying,what are heartless jerk".
In the Hong's resident madam Amber came back withe shaman madam Grace and she is all settled in,madam invented her to have evening tea by the garden as Mr Hong will arrive soon from work and her soon may be back soon to after cooling off his temper.
The dawn arrived pretty quickly and the were no sign of Jo coming back home yet.
"Where did that son of yours run off to just few days after coming back?,did you talk to him already about his end of his deal".
"Yes I have,calm down now,I have already talked to him".
"And what did he say?".
"He went out but he already agreed".
"So it's a done deal already,nanny!call that family and set up a date"
"Yes sir'.
Next morning,Jo woke up to his mother knocking on his door
"Mom,what is it this early in the morning".
"Son,get ready you have a lunch date today,is already ten o'clock,when did you come home,I didn't hear you last night '.
"Wait…what?a lunch date with whom?,I thought we already talked about this yesterday ".
"No son,you have to go,I already assured you father that it is a done deal besides you promised before you left that you will agree to whatever we say as long as we let you leave last time,are you backing out of your own word,is that it?".
"Of course not,it's just I didn't expect this from you guys,am even your son?".
"Just meet with her,she has a good reputation,am sure you will like her after a few dates,you will see,a mother never think wrong about her own children ".
"Fine".
"I will wait downstairs ".
"Madam Grace,am telling you,your presence in this house is setting everything straight,can you believe it,he just agreed without throwing a tantrum ".
"Am glad you find me helpful madam".
"Bobi!Bobi!come and help me,hurry up will you or am going to be late",Jane shouted from her bedroom in frustration.
"What is it this time dear?what's with all the frustration in the morning?",Bobi asked .
"I don't have anything to wear to my lunch date,can't you order me a new piece or something,I have to look my best even if I won't like the guy".
"Calm down,I put a new red dress with shoes and everything on top of the cupboard,pull it down ".
"It's perfect,you are the best".
"Of course I am,get dressed already everyone is at the table waiting",Bobi smiled as he left the room.
"Isn't my daughter an angel,look at her",Mr Reyes compliment his daughter as she gets in the dining room.
"Thanks dad".
"Look through the file while in the car,he is the son of the Hong's,don't embarrass our family out there, alright",Jane's mother whispered.
"Yes mother".
"You should leave now,is everything set Bobi?",Mr Reyes asked.
"Yes sir, everything is perfect".
"Good,take good care of her".
"I will be going now",Jane said as she stand up and head to the car outside.
