While some students went out of the room, others stayed and started eating from the box they had taken out of their bag.
"At last, the lunch break," as one of the guys in the class said to me, I gathered that he was referring to the free time we were allotted.
The primary issue, however, was that despite my complete concentration and confidence in my reading abilities, I was unable to comprehend a single word that those people had been teaching me over the previous few hours.
I attempted to write down whatever they were writing on the board, but they erased it so quickly that I did not have time to write anything down.
The confidence I had in myself was shattered by some middle-aged humans.
"Whatever," I muttered to myself before taking out the box that Mom had given me.
Looking around, I saw that other students had formed groups, including the Ichika girl, but the tall girl was still by herself, sitting at her seat and eating her meal.
I then turned my attention to the food that mom had given me, and just as I was about to eat it, I saw some students approaching me. Based on his aura, the boy in front of them appeared to be a blessed.
One of the guys in the group said, "Guys, look, it is Keana. It's been a long time since we last met. How have you been a good friend?"
I ignored them because I had more important business to attend to, which was eating.
The blessed guy walking in front of the group approached me and said, "Hey-hey, dude, do not act like you do not know us," while moving his face, which had a huge grin, close to mine and gripping his hands tightly around my shoulders.
I felt they had something important to say to me, so I considered telling them to wait until I finished eating.
"Hello, so um, can you wait a little while? I am eating right now."
"Now, now, dont be like that. You know we have to eat too, but we came all the way here just to meet you.
I looked at the other student in this group who began laughing for no apparent reason. I also noticed that the students in the room were looking at me with pity, as if they felt sorry for me.
"Oh, so how about we talk after we both finish eating?"
"Huh!"
The look on the guy's face changed, and his grip on my left side of shoulder tightened, causing my shoulder to hurt.
Did I say something wrong? Why does he appear to be angry?
With a slightly angry expression on his face, he moved closer to my ear and said in a low voice, "How about I help you?" before passing a glance at the group of boys with him.
The boy in their group then kicked the bench where my lunch was kept, causing it to fall to the ground.
I looked down at my food, which was splattered on the floor.
Huh?
"Don't tell me you forgot everything because we didn't meet during summer vacation."
I lost my composure due to my anger, and all I could think to do was rip that man's limbs off and feed him to fire mantises.
"You are dead," I said, glancing at the person who had kicked my bench.
"Eeek, I'm scared. Hahahaha..."
I will rip your tongue out and shove it so deep inside you that you will never be able to laugh again.
"I think you guys should leave or I will have to call the teachers," said one of the girls sitting in front of me.
I turned to face that girl, and it was her interruption that allowed me to regain consciousness.
Phew, that was close! My other side was about to start a blood bath.
"What? Why would you do that? We are just here to talk to our best friend, right Keana?"
He turned to face me, his hand tightening around his fist, and shot me a strange look that made me feel as though he was trying to scare me into agreeing with him.
Hehe, the thought of a human attempting to intimidate me is nothing new for me.
"Sorry, but I do not think we are friends. Also, remove your arms from my shoulder."
"You heard him. Now, please leave."
He appeared slightly more irate, and I was pleased to see his angry expression.
That boy then removed his hand from my shoulders and said, "Let's leave," while looking at his groups before exiting the room.
...
I looked back at my food on the floor, picked up the bench, moved the food back to my box, and began eating it, which, as always, tasted great.
"Nom-nom-nom."
"Ewww, he is eating that."
"Gross."
I overheard some students saying something while looking in my direction.
Are they talking about me?
"Keana, you should not eat that," said Ichika, who was sitting on the seat to my right.
"But I'm hungry."
"I understand that those jerks dropped your lunch on the floor and you are hungry, but don't you think eating that food might upset your stomach? If you want, I can share my lunch with you."
She transferred some of her sandwiches to the lid of her lunch box and passed them to me.
Is it wrong for humans to eat food that has fallen to the floor? Or is it some new human rule that I am not aware of? Whatever, I will finish my box another time.
After we finished our lunch, Ichika Abe started talking to me about things I did not understand, so I just nodded or said, "Hmm."
Then the bell rang, and another teacher entered and began teaching, but my condition remained unchanged, and the cycle of not understanding anything continued until the last bell rang, and I noticed that the students in the room began to leave, and I followed suit, making my way outside.
I repeated my morning steps and made my way outside. I learned how to get to the station from school, thanks to Rika, who showed me the way this morning, and I even remembered how to get home from the station, so I considered going home by myself.
Revising my route to my house, I exited the school building, but then noticed the same group of boys standing near the school exit, as if waiting for someone.
"There he is," said one of the boys from the group, pointing his arm in my direction.
The entire group approached me, and the boy in front of them moved his arm across my shoulder and grabbed me.
"Ah, Keana, how about we go for a little walk?"
Walk, to where? If they are talking about taking a walk around this area, that will be good for me.
I considered going with them, but then they suddenly started pushing and forcing me to move.
Despite not liking their approach, I was appreciative of them for providing me with a walk to the school, and I noticed a familiar-looking person following us.
We moved to an old building at the back of the school building where I had recently been.
Then suddenly that guy pushed me forward with such a force that I fell on the ground.
I looked towards the blessed boy who pushed me, hoping to ask why he pushed me, but before I could say anything, he approached me and began kicking me while I was on the ground.
"Someone was being a smarta** today, right guys? I came to greet you personally, but you were acting like an a**h*le. Did you really think you would get away with that?"
He claimed that he was angry because of something I said to him during lunch, but from what I recall, I did not say anything that would make anyone angry. Also wasn't humans fighting each other a crime?
Ow-ow-ow-ow, this hurts!
The other boys joined in and beat me up for a while.
One of the boys grabbed my collar, lifted my body off the ground, and remarked, "Hey, this guy is not crying today like he usually does."
This hurts so bad, why did these guys started beating me?
"So, Keana, can you lend us some money?"
"Money? Sorry, but I did not bring my wallet."
Oh. This is what Dad meant when he mentioned 'strange-looking guys asking for money'.
"Hey, check him."
Following the blessed boy's institutions, other boys began searching my pockets and bag for my wallet, but they found nothing.
Hehe, you will not find it, I promise. I knew money was valuable and I did not want to lose it, so I kept it close to my body.
Grasping my face with his hand, the blessed boy said, "Ugh, listen sh*thead, forget your wallet tomorrow and I will use my blessing on you, you remember how bad it hurts right?" Then he released his grip, causing me to fall to the ground.
...
When they departed, leaving me by myself, I could still sense the familiar aura of the person who was pursuing us.
"Kukuku,"
Hmm, that sounds familiar.
I attempted to get up from the ground, but another kick to the chest caused me to fall on my back.
The tall girl from my class approached me, sat on my chest, and then, for no apparent reason, moved her fingers inside her mouth.
"Blaaargh!"
Out of her mouth, a warm liquid sprayed onto my face.
