Chapter 7 - Previous possession: She knows

Perhaps she was exhausted because she went straight to bed after seeing the movie, but I stayed on the couch and watched TV until she fell asleep .

"Okay, time to talk."

After giving it some thought, I decided that the best course of action was to flee before that happened. However, doing so just before the disaster would make me appear suspicious, especially since that human male is aware that something is wrong.

I let out a small amount of aura, which made it more obvious that a demon was inhabiting this body. Since demons do not conceal their auras like I do, conversing with them without emitting an aura will make it easier for them to locate me in the demon realm.

I got up from the living room couch and moved to the left, where the bed was situated. Ruhi was asleep in bed, but she was mumbling something in a language other than what she normally spoke. Ruhi's head was tilted in my direction as I kept my leg inside the room; her eyes were closed, giving the impression that she was still asleep.

"Never knew there was another demon here?" Ruhi said, speaking in a tongue only demons can comprehend.

There are numerous ways for a demon to take over a human's body; for example, they can completely control a person, like I did, or they can have partial control, where the demon lives in the demon realm but still has the ability to manipulate humans. Since controlling a human from the demon realm demands an enormous amount of mana, only higher realm demons are capable of doing so.

Mana is the quantity that defines the individual's magical power. The more mana one has, the larger and thicker their aura will be.

"I just possessed her. Can you leave that human? I have some plans for her," I said, knowing that the one in front of me is a demon from the higher realm. I was taking advantage of the fact that this demon was still trying to possess her.

"Hmm, with the meager amount of aura you are emitting, did you really think I would listen to your request?"

"I'll kill the medium."

"What! Do you even know who you are speaking to, you lesser demon?" Ruhi said with a hint of anger in her voice.

Suddenly the air around me felt a little thicker. I noticed Ruhi's white aura transformed into a massive dark aura. She was radiating an aura so large it filled the entire apartment.

"I'm serious. Leave her or I will kill her; think about what would happen to your reputation if other demons found out you were killed by a lower demon." I said without changing my tone.

Ruhi's enormous aura was just a front; it means nothing if you can't control that body. If this demon had been able to control her, I would have died long ago.

"Interesting, given the amount of aura I am radiating, you should have been on the ground pleading for your life, but instead you are talking to me and standing there as if it's nothing. How about I leave this human alone in exchange for you to come fight me in the demon realm? My name is Arit-"

"All right," I interrupted him as he was telling me his name.

"let's see if you'll use that mouth of your when we meet there. Don't even consider hiding from me; I have seen your aura and will track you down if necessary by searching the entire lower realm."

I never intended to fight you from the start, so good luck finding me.

"This human is good at acting; typically, when they realize their body is being controlled, they panic. Let's meet again soon."

After saying that, Ruhi's aura returned to its usual state, she remained silent and appeared to be sleeping.

"You could've told me that sooner." I spoke in a demonic tongue.

So she heard everything. This is why humans are strange; in this situation, they should scream and become terrified, but instead, she is acting so convincingly like she is asleep that I was even tricked.

Should I get rid of her? But killing her won't change the end result. How about I leave everything to her then.

"Good Night." I said as I lied down beside her, giving her a tight embrace.

After three hours had gone, it was still nighttime, and I heard faint footsteps, as if someone was trying to get out of the room quietly.

"Where do you intend to go at this hour?"

Ruhi stopped as soon as I said those words. She was near to the door that connected the bedroom from living room.

"..."

"You promised to look after me for the rest of my life?"

"How many days have passed since you took control of her?"

"I don't remember."

She just stood there looking scared, not saying anything.

"Since I dislike needless deaths, I will give you two choices: either you try to flee, but it will not work out well for you, or you choose to forget everything and return to our normal lives."

"Why would I believe a demon's words?"

"Your cho—"

Just as I was about to say those words, one of the furniture pieces flew at me, striking my upper body. It was a sudden attack that succeeded and rendered me immobile. She used this opportunity to flee.

Despite her psychic blessing, Ruhi's low aura restricted her ability to control only smaller objects.

"Human bodies are truly fragile."

It took me few minutes to recover from the shock I then pursued her; it was simple to find her because I could see her running across the street.

I noticed she was mumbling while holding a strange object near her ears. I did not want to leave any more evidence, so I thought it would be acceptable to use my abilities.

"Eat he—"

*Crash*

Just as I was about to use my ability, she was hit by a large vehicle.

"Or, we could do that."
