It was time for the event to start, everyone hurried back to their seats, the anticipation ran extremely high for everyone in attendance to watch the school's elite fighters against the best the school could hire for the new teaching spots. The matches would begin now.
The new instructors decided their order earlier in order to gauge what the school had to offer for them, whether it was worth their time to teach them or at all. Akira was the first to go, the crowd loved her gentle appearance and kind demeanor, her purity brought tears and admiration to the students and parents alike as she walked to the center of the ring like a descending angel. The other instructors waited in their seats patiently to see her in action. Only Megumi was the obscene one in the section as usual, drinking multiple packs of beer and eating nearly forty boxes of takoyaki dosed in mayonnaise and hot sauce. The group was in utter disbelief that someone of her personality could exist. Questioning how she was even able to pass the hiring process at all.
"Disgusting. Could you refrain from looking like a slob and act like a dignified teacher? Hmph a stray dog has more manners than you." Gentaro scolded in a stern manner.
Megumi looked at him with drunken eyes, she was sauced after finishing her second case of beer. Unbothered by the old man's comments to her. She was the type to give no damn about what people thought of her in the slightest. If they couldn't beat her in a fight, then they were uninteresting to her.
"Huh, shut it, old man. I'm allowed to live a little am I? Besides I'm last to go so I'm gonna enjoy the party here till I get to see my little tiger cub haha." She said in a sarcastic manner followed by a loud burp.
The others were embarrassed beyond belief. For them, how could such a drunken fool of a woman be stronger than them? It was like a cruel joke from the Gods. The universe made them feel like they were being mocked in a comedy play.
Akira stood in the arena praying for the good fortune in the fight and everyone's health, she was becoming more loved by the minute. Akira finished her prayer, she stood gently waiting for her opponent to appear.
She heard the one she was paired with was the late student, and since no one had seen him yet it begged to question how would he stack up against her.
It took a few minutes but he arrived at last, it was Tatsuya as Natsume mentioned. Walking in yawning like he just woke up from a nap.
The girls erupted in fawning cheers, even if he didn't attend the school in the beginning they all knew who he was from his magazine shoots and music. Even with sleepy eyes, he made it look good to the girls. His styled blonde hair with brown tips, green eyes, and shiny skin was worthy of being an idol.
His manager Iori Hasegawa was behind him. The teachers could see she was as serious as her expensive suit gave off. She managed many talents in her company, none as quickly successful as Tatsuya was, he was born a genius in music, even if he didn't have his gift, he would have gone far regardless.
She walked over to Tatsuya pulling on his ear, waking him up forcefully. Tatsuya had highly sensitive ears and hearing, just the slightest pinch would cause him great pain. Tatsuya recognized her voice from anywhere that woke him wide awake, it was so deep anyone would think it was an old woman's voice, even though she barely hit 34 in age.
"Tatsu-Kun, if you lose after what I went through to get you enrolled and get you caught up on all the missing school work assignments I'll cancel the next shoot I got for you and your spending allowance for the next three months. Do you understand!"
"Yes manager Roger that." Tatsuya agreed trying to get her to stop yanking on his ear.
The referee arrived to instruct the rules to both participants. Two students sat in a booth overhead of the ring, acting as announcers for the fights. Anna wanted to show how even a courtesy sparring match with the instructors and students can still be fun for a Saturday event. Akira acknowledged her young opponent. Tatsuya eyed her for how refined her face and presence were.
'Wow, she's pretty. I wonder if she would do a shoot with us.'
"Hi everyone! We will now begin our first round of our Saturday main event!" The young students in the announcer booth shouted on the microphones to hype the crowd.
"Starting off on the guest side. A beautiful woman of faith who even Ghasts would bow to for forgiveness. Please welcome Izumi Akira!!!!"
The crowd cheered for her. Her gentle smile in appreciation for her.
"And from the home team. A latecomer to our school but no stranger to the public. Accumulating millions in sales with his genius lyrics and fashion styles. An eye candy for the ladies here at our school. Please welcome, Ichinose Tatsuya!!!"
Tatsuya waved to everyone in attendance. He fan girls cheering for him.
The referee went over the rules to both parties before signaling the start of the match.
"Ready, BEGIN!"
The audience waited for it to start off, nothing at first. Instead, Tatsuya walked over to Akira, admiring her immaculate facial features.
"Sup, pretty shrine woman. Would like you like to shoot with me sometime."
Akira giggled at his confidence holding her hand over her mouth, she looked calm speaking to him.
"Oh, I'm sorry young one. But I'm afraid I don't do vanity. One must be pure to be on the path to Buddha." Akira was quick, Tatsuya didn't see the prayer beads she had hidden in her sleeve smack him in his stomach. He felt the impact of the force knocking him to the ground.
"Oh Buddha, grant me your ever-loving wisdom to cleanse this boy of his vanity and lustful nature." Akira chanted, the prayer beads wrapped around her hand like a knuckleduster, a hammer roll downed her sleeve along with nails. Akira's eyes turned blue in color from her original brown eyes. She hammered the nails into the ground, creating streams of lighting bursting forth heading to Tatsuya. Tatsuya rolled out the way to avoid the lighting hitting his face. He realized now Akira wasn't a pushover or easy to dismiss.
Akira threw more nails in the air, she smacked them with her hammer launching them in a railgun projectile force at Tatsuya, the speed of the nails was intense with them being electrically charged, the kinetic force behind them would easily have destroyed hundreds of demons if they couldn't have dodged them.
Tatsuya went for dodging again, his training in dance routines helped him avoid the nails making any connection on his body. Tatsuya was no pushover either, he may have been an idol but he studied martial arts as well for his own protection due to harassment from crazed fans and jealous boyfriends. He studied Capoeira, kickboxing, and small practice in throwing darts just incase of weapons being involved. His instincts to dodge were spot on, he even tried parkour to help with jumps and flips, since his style was to avoid getting hit as much as possible. Akira then took a few steps and in an instant, she was in front of Tatsuya, he couldn't dodge this one. She hit him again in the stomach with her beaded fist. He was almost electrocuted from the hit, had he not jumped himself by an inch to avoid the electricity that surged out in the last second.
Akira went for another punch, but Tatsuya used his foot to absorb the impact and gain some distance between them.
"Wow, that was close. Should a been more careful to messing with a shrine woman. Well if I have to guess I better fight back or lose my next gig."
Tatsuya stretched out his arms, he pulled out his sunglasses from his pockets to wear. He started hopping around like a dance routine was being displayed. Akira was confused like everyone else, she thought he was just messing around now at this point.
Tatsuya sucked in a large amount of air before letting out a scream that shot a blast of concussive shockwaves from his mouth at Akira.
"FLY!!!"
Akira was sent launching backward. She used the nails as anchors to the ground with her power to stop her from being severely hurt.
"Hmm, well now that's an interesting technique," Barnaby commented.
"Yes, it seems he can launch kinetic blast waves. His dancing around is helping him build up momentum in his body I see." Alexandra responded.
"Huh, that's not it," Megumi snapped back waving her beer can around. "He's dancing around to create noise. Judging from that attack, he can control sounds in his immediate field, any noise he makes builds and becomes a weapon to him even his own voice at that. That kid is a walking loudspeaker that can hurt someone. Better plug ya ears folks haha." The others were again embarrassed by how the drunken Megumi could pinpoint that in her sauced state.
Akira was impressed, Tatsuya could fight back well despite his personality.
"Interesting young one. What is that technique?" Akira asked with her calmness still on display.
"Hehe, it's my True Skill. I call it Osbourne named after my favorite artist. Sorry for the disrespect I gave you earlier I'm just a naturally lively person. So let me treat you to some music, let's rock out."
Tatsuya pulled at an electric guitar from its case behind him. Iori tossed it to him since there were no rules against it. He hooked up the guitar to a custom belt harness with miniature speakers and a battery source attached.
Tatsuya started shredding on his guitar, and the sound waves he was enhancing from the guitar launched like blades at Akira. She avoided most by rotating her beads in a circular motion for a shield. She used her nails and hammer to fire at Tatsuya again. Tatsuya just jammed out harder playing rock music that canceled out the attacks. The guitar playing began to affect Akira, she started getting headaches and her ears couldn't withstand the sounds emanating from the strings. She fell to the ground, holding her head tight, she had to give up in the end she couldn't withstand the barraging sounds anymore. Tatsuya leaped in the air still playing, he wasn't launching an attack he was just showing off like a showman would in this situation.
"Yahoo! Rock n' Roll!"
Akira was embarrassed she lost so quickly, but the crowd cheered her anyway for her still. Tatsuya looked at her and gave a thumbs up, he respected her in the fight, and it made her happy, she bowed to him in respect for their match and headed for her seat.
Tatsuya put his guitar away, he sat in the seats next to the other boys. Immediately he put on his headphones to play soft music.
"What's wrong pretty boy didn't get enough out there?" Ryuji said in a sarcastic tone.
"Ignore him, he's a brute. But I wonder, you put on the headphones immediately, that's not for recreation is it." Hiro again uses his insight to analyze Tatsuya.
"No, unfortunately, it's not. My ability is great since I love music and it helps with work, but the bad part is my hearing is extremely sensitive since I use it to detect the 'melody' in everything around me. I can't turn it off even if I want to, makes it hard to sleep sometimes."
That explained the tired appearance he had when entered. Having sensitive ears that could hear anything nonstop would drive anyone crazy, it's a wonder he didn't lose his mind already from being unable to stop hearing everything around him.
"Alright next fight, let's get our participants on stage." The announcers shouted out, the crowd was in big anticipation for what was next.
