As Di Tian took his leave some minutes later, he didn't realize that he left Elder Yi brooding about her cultivation journey and wondering if it had been worth it.
"Ah, the inevitability of 'there's always going to be someone better'," she muttered.
Her Divine Sense suddenly detected another person walking into the Report Building and her face quickly changed back to its usual stoic demeanor in response.
"I want to submit my mission report," the person said.
"Fill the details in here," Elder Yi said coldly and flung a paper in the guy's direction. "Be quick and don't waste time."
"Thank you, Elder."
Now that Elder Yi thought about it, she realized that the Universal Council wasn't a bad life choice. Where else would she have been able to present a very cold front, yet be fawned upon by so many regardless?
It might be superficial respect, but it was still respect nonetheless. This was her consolation.
