Chapter 1 - Life at it's best

             MIA

'Knock knock knock'.

I hear a sound. I wonder where it's coming from and disturbing my peaceful sleep?

'Knock knock knock'. The sound again!

"Mia dear, it's mummy. You have to get up right now or you're gonna be late for the registration today."

OK. That's mom obviously trying to wake me up.

I've been trying to get a sound sleep all through the night and to no avail. Now sleep is here and she's waking.....

'Knock knock knock'

" Okay okay fine!! I'm up now. You can hear me right?" I scream as I lazily get up from the bed and head straight to my closet.

I pick out a brown leather skirt and a black tight fitted long sleeve then I make my way to the bathroom.

I eventually step out all dressed and decked up.

After that I dry my long straight black hair which a lot of people envy by the way. Uhuh my momma gave them to me.

I'm Mia greenwood.

An 18 year old African American which quite explains my dark color.

I live with my dad (Steven greenwood) and my mom( Leah greenwood). Really amazing people.

People say that I'm hot which I actually think is true considering the fact that my mom has that killer body that she passed on to me. Deep black eyes, straight long legs, great height say... 5'9. During highschool my friends always thought I would do well in sports but nahhh I'm not in for that stuff.

So today I'm going to register in one of the best colleges here in Chicago.

Yes you got that I live in Chicago with my parents and...

"Mia greenwood!!!

Y

our father has work to be at remember? So ya better get your ass down here for breakfast"

I hear mom yell at me from the kitchen for keeping her oh so beloved husband waiting. But I know dad won't mind. Being the only child of my parents they really cherish me and I love that.

Like who wouldn't?

" Darling let her be she'll be down soon she's just preparing herself for the big day ahead"

I hear dad coo at Mom's bickering and I can imagine her blushing already.

Even if it's been 20 years of their marriage to each other they are still so in love. I hope to find such love soon.

I've never dated any guy through out my high school. It's just been me and my Best friend Vee. I really miss her. Since she left for New York I haven't heard from her. It hurts to know that the bond we shared meant nothing to her.

I sigh as I eye myself in the mirror. Straight hair, long legs, a little foundation, eyeliner, mascara, done brows, a little lip gloss and.....Yes! my phone.

I hurry down the stairs to the dining room for breakfast.

"Something smells nice?" I remarked as I kissed mom and dad good morning.

" Morning honey" dad replies as he squeezes me in his arms.

"I thought you'd never come down" mom pinches my nose and pecks it.

I laugh and quickly get down to eating the yummy chocolate cake and warm milk mom made for breakfast.

I eat like there's no tomorrow  and my parents laugh at my childish behavior. I down the milk through my mouth.

Mom prepares the best food. Like can she cook?!!

I kiss my parents thank you and head out to wait in the car for dad.

I hear him say something about how much I've grown and I smile and just wondered when my life became so perfect.

It's amazing.
