My name is Noah, and I'm 21 years old. I grew up in an orphanage, having lost my parents at a young age. Despite these early challenges, I developed a strong passion for my studies. My dedication paid off, allowing me to secure a job and achieve financial stability at an early age.
One day, as I was returning from work, I saw children playing football in a garden while their mothers chatted nearby. Their laughter and carefree playfulness brought a rare smile to my face.
After some time, a kid kicked the ball outside the garden, and it landed in the middle of the road. With their mothers distracted, one kid started running after the ball just as a truck was approaching.
I was shocked. The truck was too close. I don't know what came over me, but I ran towards the kid and pushed him aside, saving his life. Unfortunately, I couldn't escape in time.
As I lay there, taking my last breaths, I was being taken to the hospital, but I knew I wouldn't survive. Despite the pain, I felt a strange sense of peace knowing the child was safe.
I had no regret saving him. As I saw his mother crying and hugging him, I knew he had someone to look after him, someone who loved him dearly. As for me, I was alone—no parents, no siblings, and no girlfriend. I had some colleagues, but they would probably forget about me after a while.
My only regret was that I never got to know my parents or experience their love. That was my sole sorrow as I said my final goodbye to this world.
Where am I? Did I die? Is this the afterlife people talk about? This place feels so serene and relaxing.
Suddenly, I was startled by the presence of an old man who was observing me curiously.
"Why am I here?" I asked, confused.
"Oh, how rude of me," the old man responded with a gentle smile. "I forgot to introduce myself. I am the God of Reincarnation."
"What?" taken aback. "I thought Reincarnation is just a fairytale, but to think there's actually a god of reincarnation... I'm shocked."
"Don't be shocked," he said, as if reading my mind. "I understand this is overwhelming, but you are indeed going to be reincarnated."
"Really?" I stammered, trying to process this information.
"Yes, but not in this world," he replied.
"What do you mean?"
"You see," he began, "there is not just one world; there are many worlds, though people are unaware of them. I am going to reincarnate you into a different world."
"But why are you telling me this?" I asked, looking around at the empty, tranquil surroundings. "Why am I alone here?"
God laughed warmly. "Haha, you are perceptive. But don't worry, you will get your answers in due time."
I struggled to understand his words, but before I could ask more questions, a sudden wave of dizziness hit me. My vision blurred, and the next moment, I lost consciousness, slipping into darkness.
At the same time, a lady approached the god . "Are you sure he is the one who will save the world?" she asked, doubt evident in her voice.
"Ha! Don't underestimate that kid," the god replied with a chuckle. "He has the strongest soul I have ever seen, and his spirit is high. He just needs someone to protect. When that happens, he'll do whatever it takes to safeguard what's precious to him. I know he will be the one to save the world, just like him."
"Hmm," the lady murmured, pondering his words.
