Chapter 3 - Family

Five years have passed when I look at myself I was a really cute kid with black hair like my mother and blue eyes, my face resembling hers. It seemed my father's genes didn't stand a chance because my mother was as gorgeous as a goddess. Naturally, I am going to be a very handsome man when I grew up.

I've learned a bit about this world. There are four kingdoms: Silverscale, Starfall, Ironvale, and Elaria.

Currently, I'm in the small city of Skyfall in the Elaria Kingdom. In this world people possess various combat and magical abilities, which they use to hunt monsters for their livelihood.

My mother has only taught me this much, thinking I'm too young to learn more. However, I was going to start to learn things on my own.

However, my mother is very loving and never lets me out of her sight. Right now, I'm trying to sneak out without her noticing

"Oh baby, are you trying to escape from Mama again? Don't you love Mommy?"

"No, Mama, I was looking for Father. That's why I was going outside."

"Oh, you know you can't go outside without your father or me. The outside world is dangerous, baby. So whenever you want to go outside, just tell me, okay?"

"Yes, Mama."

(Drat, mission failed.)

Just like that, my mother caught me and started pampering me with kisses, a daily routine I secretly cherish.

These precious moments are something I never had in my previous life.

My mom and dad are now an irreplaceable part of my life, and I couldn't bear to lose them. From what I've learned about this world, only the strong rule the weak.

If I want to protect the people precious to me, I have to become strong.

So I asked my mother, "Mama, can you teach me magic? I want to learn it," while making my ultimate puppy face.

"Ooh, my precious baby," my mother said, holding me tightly. "You are so cute when you make that face."

(Hehehe, success!) I thought.

"But no, you can't." Mom said with straight face

(What?) I thought

"That's because you haven't awakened your talent yet." Mom said looking at me lovingly

"Why haven't I awakened my talent?" I asked, making a sad face.

"Oh, baby, don't be sad. All humans awaken their talent when they turn seven, so you have to wait until then, okay?"mom said looking at me smiling

"Okay, Mama," I said. "But can I at least learn swordsmanship with Father?" I looked at her expectantly.

"Baby, why are you so excited about training? You should be playing with Mama, no?" Mother said dejectedly.

(How cute.)

I embraced her and said, "Mama, don't be sad. I just want to train and become strong so that I can protect you and Father," I said with determination.

"Oh, my baby wants to protect me?"

"Yes, Mother, I want to protect you and Father."

"Okay, baby. I will ask your father tonight when he comes back, okay?"mom said smiling

"Okay, Mama," I said, giving her a cheeky smile.

At night, my father came back from hunting and brought monster meat. I was joyous and ran towards him.

"Hoho, my boy, how are you?" said Father, throwing me in the air.

"I missed you, Father," I said, hugging him.

"I missed you too, my boy," he said, patting me.

"Oh, you're back," said Mom, looking at us lovingly.

"Yes, honey, and I brought fresh orc meat, our boy's favorite."

"Oh, let me take it," Mother said, taking the orc meat from Father and heading to the kitchen.

Father put me down and went to freshen up.

During dinner, I asked my father about monsters and how he dealt with them. His answer was, "My boy, your father is strong," as he showed off his biceps. I then looked at Mom, who smiled and asked my father, "Honey, our boy wants to learn swordsmanship."

"Really? That's my boy! Kids his age usually only think about playing, but my boy wants to learn swordsmanship. That's the spirit I want! Alright, be ready tomorrow; we will start training and make you strong."

"Yeah, thanks, Dad!" I started jumping with excitement.

Mom and Dad looked at me lovingly.
