Chapter 88 - The Spar of Steel and Shadows

The Spar of Steel and Shadows

Lucifer the 6th faced off against Samael, the Angel of Death, in a blur of steel and shadows. Their blades clashed in a flurry of strikes, each blow ringing out like a death knell. Samael's sword sliced through the air with deadly precision, but Lucifer parried each attack with ease, his movements honed to perfection.

The spar raged on, the two warriors exchanging blows in a dance of death. Samael's eyes gleamed with a fierce light, his face set in a determined mask. Lucifer's expression was equally fierce, his eyes blazing with a burning intensity.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Samael called out, "Enough!" Lucifer lowered his blade, his chest heaving with exertion. Samael approached him, a nod of approval on his face.

"Well done, Lucifer. You've surpassed even my expectations."

Lucifer smiled, his eyes gleaming with pride. But as he turned to leave, he saw Valeria standing before him, her eyes blazing with a fierce anger.

"Lucifer, you fool!" she spat, her hand on the hilt of her sword. "You think you can reject me and live?"

Lucifer's eyes widened in realization. He had unknowingly provoked her. He took a step back, his hands raised in apology.

"Valeria, wait! I didn't mean to offend you. My apologies for my thoughtlessness."

Valeria's anger faltered, her expression softening. "You should be sorry," she said, her voice still stern. "But I accept your apology. This time."

Lucifer let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Valeria. Let's put this behind us and get dinner, my treat."

Valeria's face flushed with a soft blush. "Okay, Lucifer. But don't think this means I'll go easy on you next time."

Lucifer smiled, relieved. "I wouldn't dream of it."

As they walked to the dining hall, Lucifer failed to notice Valeria's eyes flashing with anger when she saw Grog and Akuma already seated at a table.

"Why did you invite them?" she hissed, her voice low and menacing.

Lucifer's eyes widened in confusion. "I thought it would be nice to have them join us. We're all friends, after all."

Valeria's eyes narrowed, her mind screaming with frustration. How dense can he be? Doesn't he know that I wanted to spend time with him alone?

But she bit back her anger, forcing a smile onto her face. "Yes, of course. The more the merrier."

The dinner was filled with laughter and conversation, but Valeria's eyes never left Lucifer's face, her mind seething with a quiet fury.
