"What is going on," a bald-headed man dressed in green overall asked as light hit his eyes which had been blindfolded for days.
Noticing the large white room he was in, the man first took a step back in caution before quickly focusing his attention on the one person that was in front of him, and he asked his curious question.
"Nothing complicated actually, but first, here"
With his eyes narrowed, the bald man watched as the white-haired youth before him threw him a key, one which he reflexively caught, and then with disbelief stared at the key and the keyhole in his cuffs.
The man looked at the boy questioningly and when the boy nodded his head at him, the man with narrowed eyes put the key into both cuffs on his hand and unlocked them, releasing a grunt of relief as his mana flowed through his body and was once again under his control.
"I'm Tion, how about you" The prince of Mamoth asked with a small smile.
"I'm Barak," The bald man said as he once again focused his attention on his surroundings, the man squinting his eyes when he noticed several objects in the far distance."
"Where are we."
"This is my place Barak, my training ground if you must say and the reason you are here today is because I have decided to use you as a stepping stone.
If you look behind you, you will see a sword, a staff and a spear, three weapons which you can choose from and then after that the two of us will battle to the death.
No one but me knows what is going on here, so if you kill me, you will become a free man, but if I kill you, then well nothing changes as you will just be serving your sentence."
Barak stayed silent while Tion spoke and when when he was finished, he turned and stared at the weapon behind, walking towards the sword and picking it up.
"So, what you're saying right now is that I either fight you and kill you, or you kill me and then go offer another person this opportunity" the man said as he made a few practice slashes with the sword and felt its weight.
"Yes" Tion answered, and the second these words left his mouth, so did a murderous aura erupt from Barak as the man shot towards him, the man's mana quickly climbing up the sword and making it shine an ominous blue.
For this stupid, courageous, daredevil action he was going to commit, Tion had decided to be dramatic and be dressed in an all-white outfit, even his katana being white.
Tion had initially wanted to leave his katana sheathed on his back while he spoke to Barak, but thankfully his sense of preservation and decision to not underestimate his opponent had won out and now despite being stunned by the amount of bloodlust in Barak's aura, with his blade having already been held at the ready, he had enough time to channel his mana to it, having it crackle with lightning as he swung it at Barak's approaching sword.
With his knees slightly bent, Tion sent his katana cutting from the side, and when eventually it clashed with Barak's raging sword, the boy felt a tremble go through him and then he could only watch as his body was sent into the air for about two seconds before he then landed back on the ground and was sent skidding backwards.
"Incredible core stability" Tion praised in his head while trying to regain his footing, the boy already spinning his Katana around and fueling it with more mana.
"Bam"
Tion and Barak's weapons screeched as they collided with each other, the collision of the mana from both their blades sending out bits of shockwaves.
And this time, though Tion who had successfully been able to recover his footing and lay down a better stance before this clash was able to stand his ground, Barak decided to bombard the boy with barrages of attacks.
Left, right, Barak's sword came swinging and with his eyes peeled open and all his senses on alert, Tion swung his sword to counter.
When Brack suddenly made a heavy swing and then followed up with a downward sweep of his legs, try as Tion might, he was unable to jump up in time and in the end could only fall down to the floor.
Barak must have thought he had finally gotten the boy because when he in a well-practiced manner had his swords swinging down on Kruxe's body which he had just downed, the man let out an angry grunt when Tion in an impressive display of dexterity sent his body rolling away from the man just as soon as his body was touching the ground.
Perhaps finally beginning to feel the drain after constantly being on the offensive, Barak decided to switch from close combat to ranged, and just like his mana and temper, there was nothing gentle about his ranged attacks.
With a heavy Grut, Barak slammed both his palms together and a second later when he released them a normal-sized book giving off wisps of red light appeared in front of him and then to Tion's surprise, several small red dots of light burst off the book and though not fast, they began moving towards him at different speeds.
"What is this" Tion muttered as he stared as he jumped backwards while aiming his already drawn lightning arrow at Barack.
While Barak activated his technique, Tion hadn't been idle as he had quickly gotten up and activated his lightning bow, and now as he retreated from the numerous lights Barak had released, he decided to let his arrow go flying at Barak.
"Can't believe I'm struggling this much with a boy with a level zero avatar spirit, prison has really dulled me" Barak muttered as he jumped out of the way of Tion's attack, his book moving with him and then as the man rolled away from the blast that erupted in his previous position, he clapped his hands together oen more, gritting his teeth as his book glowed an ominous red and then to Tion's shock the red dots which had been moving towards him, tripled their speed and then just when the first light missed and flew past him, all the lights blinked and then there was a cacophony of "booms"
