As a light attack, the lightning blade was a technique designed to give someone a heavy edge in battle against a foe's ordinary means.
Though the technique came with quite the flare, the truth was that most of that was just for fancy and it didn't have as much intimidating power backing it.
Tion knew all this about the lightning blade, but at the moment he had no choice.
While Tion could try jumping out of the way and avoiding the main brunt of the attack, it still wouldn't completely save him from the attack and most importantly the shockwave which would come after.
Trying to run might leave Tion in a very vulnerable state, something like how Emily had been after trying to avoid Konrad's attack but worse.
In the light of his lack of options; Tion decided to face the charging attack by pumping as much mana as he could into his blade, the teen not minding how unstable he was making the technique since he was filling the blade with far more mana than it could handle.
Holding the Katana with both hands, Tion gave a loud shot as he slashed at the Mud skull, his teeth gritted as he tried to cut against the powerful force that was trying to crush him.
"Booooom"
The sound of an explosion and intense crackling resonated as the two attacks clashed, but unfortunately, at the end of the day, the sound of lightening was drowned out and then after another distinct sound of explosion, Tion was sent shooting through the air, and smashing into the ground, his body digging into the lawn and leaving a long trail of dugout soil.
Down on one knee, Potters grinned as he saw that his attack had successfully sent his enemy flying away, but then the man quickly wiped off his simile, gritted his teeth and then with a grunt stood to his feet and began dragging himself closer to Tion's body as fast as he could, refusing to be grounded by the injury on his leg.
"Damn bastard, I'll kill you, I'll kill you," Potters said as he moved closer to Tion his words kind of like a mantra.
While the mud grinder trudged toward his opponent with not very pleasing intentions on his mind, Tion who was lying on the floor back to the ground was trying to survive.
"There you heard it, he's coming to kill me, so come on you dumb body of mine, stand up" Tion roared in his mind.
Of course, Tion's body didn't have some consciousness of its own, so it could only keep silent and wait for its owner to find the strength to supply the necessary energy and signals that would get it moving.
Tion wasn't new to receiving heavy punches, and he could still remember one that sent him throwing up, but the truth was that none of them came close to comparing to what he was currently feeling.
At the moment, Tion felt like he had been made to stand in place, and then been punched by a gigantic fist twice his size.
On every frontal area of his body, Tion felt pain, but as much as the boy would like to moan about how deadly the impact of Potters's technique had been, Tion knew he was still in the middle of a battle and so gritting his teeth, since his body was in too much pain to stand, he began rolling on the ground, rolling away from the approaching Potters.
Luckily for Tion, the lawns around Potters's house were quite large and most importantly slanting in some areas.
Whether it was his luck points in action or a coincidence, Tion didn't know, but at the moment, Tion was lying on a sloped lawn, and as he rolled, he began going down the slope.
With the help of the slope, Tion rolled away faster and in this sense, he kept distance from the approaching Potters and when the man saw it, his forehead couldn't help but crease in anger and disbelief.
Potters looked down at his leg, wondering if he should ignore the damage to it and rush up to Tion, but in the end he shook his head.
With Tion's blade having been shrouded in lightning, the blade had done a good job of cauterizing his injury, but then that didn't change the fact that it had come close to slicing off his entire leg and that his bone had been cut into.
"From his voice, he sounded pretty young and I didn't expect such a scary level of mana control from him" Potters thought as he watched Tion roll farther and farther from him.
"Fuck this, I'll just bury this bastard"
With a grunt, Potter fell down on his knees once more and then slapping his hands together, his eyes narrowed in concentration until an ethereal book burst out of him and began floating in front of him.
When the book appeared, some of the tension within Potters disappeared and with the book floating in front of him, he proceeded to go through seven hand signs and then slapped both his palms to the ground.
Just like before, the ground before Potters began rapidly turning muddy, though this time it was a wider area, and while this was happening, Tion who had gotten a little bit too excited from running around noticed the change and out of nowhere, perhaps accumulated momentum from his roll, he found the strength to push himself up so he was kneeling on one knee.
Not wasting a second, Tion quickly stretched out his arms and then he concentrated on his mana core and had it pumping mana to his arms.
"Is this a joke, he has no book in front of him, don't tell me that all this while I've actually been struggling against a mage with a level zero avatar spirit."
Disgust at Tion and disappointment in himself filled Potters as he saw Tion's actions but then just as a skull rose from the muddy swamp before him, he saw a faint of blue from Tion's hand and then a bow made of lightening rapidly martialize in his hand with intense cackling.
"Who the hell is this guy" Potters fearfully roared in his head as he sent the mud skull shooting towards Tion, and with hast poured more mana into the ground and had another mud skull rising.
"That is something like A rank technique, what is a boy with such mediocre fighting skills doing with such a powerful technique."
