Jack and Simon made an agreement on where to meet. Jack did not want to make this issue bigger. And for that reason, he agreed to meet with Simon in a restaurant that was not that far away from the school, Foodex restaurant.
In just about 30 minutes, the two of them met. The moment that Simon saw Jack, he really wanted to strangle Jack. But, due to the fact that he felt that he was getting something out of this, he decided to ignore the urge that he was getting at the moment.
It could be said that at this moment, Simon hated Jack the most. Jack was the person that had made him lose so much. It was not just the two million dollars that he had lost in the competition, but instead, he had even lost the trust of his father.
Due to the loss that he had suffered, by losing 1% shares of the family hotel, even if he managed to recover without suffering much losses, it was clear that his father was no longer going to trust him anymore.
Despite that, he had to deal with Jack, even if he would not have to depend on his family. After all, Jack had just caused him too much damage to be ignored.
Jack on the other hand came together with Henry. As for the gaze that he was receiving from Simon, Jack completely ignored it. Instead, he simply went inside the restaurant, ordered food, and began eating the moment that it was served.
All this while, Simon had been silent, waiting for Jack to take the initiative to speak. He understood that the person that was going to speak first was the one that was going to be at this advantage in a negotiation.
It was just that he had forgotten that even before the negotiation began, he was already at a great disadvantage. After all, he was the one that was here to reclaim the 1% share of his family's hotel.
When he waited, only to realize that Jack and Henry did not seem to have the intention of speaking, but instead, they were just focused on eating, he could not help but get frustrated.
In the end, he had no other choice but to swallow the pride he had, in order to start speaking first. At this point, he had already understood that Jack did not the intention of speaking at all
And when he remembered that if he delayed anymore, there was a possibility that Jack might go back on his word, on the decision that he had made that he wanted to sell the share back to him after it had already been transferred.
Not willing to suffer even greater losses if somehow, Jack came back to his senses, only to realize that he could gain more by holding the shares, Simon decided to end this as soon as possible.
He took out a piece of paper, placed it on the table as he said, "Here is the agreement. This is what you said, you are going to sell back the share to me, at 50% the market price."
Jack remained silent for a while, as he chewed the food that was still in his mouth, and finally, he spoke after swallowing the food.
"When did I say 50% of the market price? I said that I was going to sell the shares to you at a price that is 100% above the market price." Jack easily went back on his word.
Simon's eyes could not help but bulge in anger when he heard Jack's words. It was clear that Jack had changed his words from what they had agreed upon previously.
"What are you saying? We previously agreed on the phone that you are going to sell back the shares after I transfer them to you at a price that is 50% higher than the market price. Now you are changing to 100%? Why don't you go and rob the entire hotel instead?" Simon asked while fuming.
"Before we discuss anything about selling the share to you, why don't we ask complete something that is pending. I still don't have the share that I'm supposed to be having. So, we should complete the transfer right now." Jack said in a calm voice.
Simon wanted to retort but suddenly held back. He was afraid that somehow, Jack might change the 1% shares that he was supposed to receive to 10%. He had completely forgotten about the agreement that was signed back then before the race started.
With his teeth gritted, while hoping that Jack would not change his mind about selling the shares back to him, Simon took out the share transfer agreement.
Previously when he took out the agreement first, he was hoping that Jack would simply accept the money, and would not even want the shares. But now, that did not seem to be the case.
Jack looked at the share transfer agreement, and after making sure that everything was right, he immediately placed a signature on the signing area. Then, he returned the agreement paper back to Simon for him to sign as well.
Even though reluctant, Simon went ahead and signed the agreement. With that, Jumbo hotel had already lost 1% of its shares.
The moment that Simon placed a signature on the agreement, Jack suddenly received a prompt from the system.
[You've earned 1% shares of Jumbo hotel. Multiplier applied. You've received 99% shares of Harmony technologies.]
Jack could not help but be surprised by what he had received after the multiplication effect. Previously, he had thought that he was going to receive 99% shares of another hotel, or maybe a certain percentage of shares of a bigger company, of the same value as 99% shares of Jumbo hotel.
But it was completely unexpected. After all, it was part of his plan to start a technology company. But now, maybe the system had seen what he needed, and decided to provide it.
Despite the coincidence, Jack did not show much of an expression on his face. Instead, he looked at Simon, wanting to finalize everything.
"Now that the shares have been transferred to me, it's time for you to make a purchase." Jack said as he shifted his attention back to eating.
All this while, Henry had been silent, continuing to eat. To him, nothing really mattered. In any case, it was Jack's job to find money, while it was his job to use the money in order to acquire items and other things that could be used in order to push them to the top of this world.
"Just as we had agreed over the phone, I have already prepared the money, together with another share transfer agreement. Here it is." Simon said.
At this moment, he was trying to think that maybe Jack was just joking before. He did not believe that Jack was going to ask to be paid two times the market price for the shares.
Jack did not even look at the agreement, but instead, he said, "I already told you that I'm only going to sell the shares back to you at a price that is 150% higher than the market price. I'm not going below that."
This time, even Henry who had been ignoring the conversation between the two of them could not help that feel that Jack was just too much. At first, it was 50% higher, next, it was 100% higher, and now, he was actually claiming that he was only going to sell the shares at a price that was 150% higher than the market price?
Was Jack not afraid that Simon would back out of the deal? After all, nobody would agree to go at such a loss, just because of 1% shares of a company, right?
At this moment, Simon's eyes were wide open, with his mouth agape. He obviously could not believe what he had just heard. Just how shameless was Jack. Why did it seem like he kept on changing the price of the share?
And, the changes were not negative at all. Instead, while Simon would have to suffer, Jack would continue earning more.
"Y-you! How come you keep on increasing the price every time? Just who do you think you are?" Simon got his feet, pointing his finger at Jack, while asking.
His voice was quite loud, immediately attracting the attention of the people around. Many thought that it was going to be a fight, but they were bound to be disappointed.
"If you feel that a price that is 150% higher than the market price is low, I can increase that. We can move to 200% instead." Jack said in a calm voice, completely ignoring Simon who was currently worked up.
Simon's eyes widened further when he heard that Jack had the intention of increasing the price again.
"Do you think that I have to get that 1% share of the hotel? Dream on! I wanted to acquire the share back, but since you are being too shameless, I'm no longer going to do that. You wanted to profit, but you were too greedy." Simon said, showing the sign of leaving.
"You understand the damage that can be caused to your family. It is way beyond what I am asking for. This is a bargain for you. But if you don't want it, I can go ahead and hand over this share to my father instead." Jack said.
He really did not care If Simon bought the share back or not. In any case, Jack had already acquired what he wanted. So of course, he would not care that much about something else the money from Simon.
It was at that moment that Simon's movements froze. He suddenly remembered what his father had told home before he left home.
