Chereads / THE CURSED LUNA AND HER FATED MATE / Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

Aimee's POV

Agnez's howl sounded so terrifying, even though she was no longer in her werewolf form and had transformed into a monstrous figure.

"You're just a weak wolf who doesn't deserve to be here, Aimee! You must die!"

I peeked behind Alpha Vincent's back, and slowly Agnez transformed into a horrifying figure, towering over us. She was no longer in her werewolf form; perhaps it was more appropriate to call her a monster.

"Aimee, quickly hide!"

Alpha Vincent pushed me, and I immediately hid behind the bushes. At the same time, Alpha Vincent transformed into a wolf. This time, Alpha Vincent's wolf form looked different from what he had shown me earlier.

This wolf was much larger and grey in colour. I had just learned that a werewolf could have two wolf forms. Why didn't the moon goddess give me one of their wolf forms?

Okay, this is not the right time to think about that. The battle between Alpha Vincent and Agnez was already underway, and honestly, I was afraid that Alpha Vincent would lose because Agnez's monstrous body was much larger.

I had never seen werewolves fight, and it was terrifying. The monster Agnez started attacking, swiping her claws and nearly hitting Alpha Vincent's body, but luckily, Alpha Vincent could dodge.

What should I do? I'm terrified that something bad will happen to Alpha Vincent. I don't want to be the leading cause of this problem.

Another growl echoed, and this time it came from Agnez. The black-furred monster was about to attack Alpha Vincent again, but before she could make her move, Alpha Vincent had already jumped onto her and instantly brought Agnez down. The monster's growls intensified.

I couldn't help but let out a scream as Alpha Vincent began tearing into Agnez's body. Yes, I wasn't mistaken; the moonlight was bright enough to reveal the blood scattered from Agnez's monstrous body.

Instantly, I ran towards them, shrieking in fear. This couldn't be allowed; Agnez could lose her life.

"Alpha Vincent, snap out of it! Alpha Vincent!"

I touched his large wolf body and hit him repeatedly. I put aside my intense fear of the blood and the sounds of Agnez's pain.

"Alpha Vincent, stop! This is enough! Alpha Vincent!"

My scream echoed along with the thunder in the sky, and luckily, Alpha Vincent turned towards me and slowly transformed back into his human form.

Alpha Vincent had a panicked expression and looked at me with fear in his eyes. We both then turned our gaze to Agnez, who had also transformed back into a human.

I gasped, feeling a tightness in my chest when I saw Agnez's stomach completely destroyed. All sorts of contents spilt out, emitting a putrid smell. Agnez's eyes turned black, and her tongue hung out; she died in a tragic and gruesome state.

"What... what have I done?" Alpha Vincent sat down next to Agnez and then looked at me. "She's dead, Aimee!"

I swallowed my saliva; I had never seen a corpse like this, not even when my parents died from a rogue attack. I never saw their bodies.

"You went insane. You were able to bring down Agnez's body when she transformed into a large monster and tear her apart quickly. Honestly, I didn't expect you could do that, Alpha Vincent."

Alpha Vincent stared at his trembling hands. "The vengeance is still there, Aimee. This is madness!"

"What do you mean, Alpha Vincent?"

"One of my ancestors was a half-blood, a werewolf and a witch. They created a lineage that could have two wolves that would only awaken when accompanied by great anger and vengeance. This wolf is the most dangerous wolf that only existed in ancient times. It's a primordial wolf. No werewolves today possess this power, and mine has been awakened since the death of my Luna..."

The whistling wind made me shudder, and the thunder rumbled again as raindrops began to fall. I tilted my head back and looked at the moon, now covered by dark clouds.

"A storm is approaching; this body needs to be cleaned up immediately." Alpha Vincent then transformed into a grey wolf and lowered his body towards me.

I quickly climbed onto his back, and he bit Agnez's body before swiftly carrying it into the forest. I didn't know where we were heading; I could only hold onto him tightly while closing my eyes because Agnez's black eyes were fixated on me. It seemed like I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.

We arrived at the edge of a lake as raindrops grew heavier. Alpha Vincent once again lowered his wolf body, and I got off. He still held onto Agnez's body, and this time, he entered the lake.

He submerged, carrying the body, and after a few moments, he resurfaced in his human form.

"You drowned her, Alpha Vincent?"

"Yes, it's better that way. We don't have time to bury her. Let her rest at the bottom of the lake. Besides, the entity that possessed her body originated from a bacterium intentionally created for evil purposes. That bacterium will perish in cold water. If we leave her in the ground, the bacteria might resurface, turning many werewolves into monsters like her."

I nodded, unsure of what response to give. This needed to be simplified. The heavy rain prompted Alpha Vincent to quickly transform back into his wolf form and carry me with even greater speed than before.

We moved so fast that my body hardly got wet at all. Travelling from the forest to the mansion took us only five minutes. Alpha James was on the terrace when we arrived, welcoming us with a broad smile.

"Hey! I didn't expect you to return so soon. I thought you would spend the night there, Aimee."

Alpha Vincent and I exchanged glances, the unease still evident in his eyes. He then spoke to Alpha James. "I just killed one of your members."

"What? What are you saying, Vincent?" Alpha James seemed amused.

Alpha Vincent looked at me again, and I understood that he wanted me to explain. So, I approached Alpha James, lowered my head, and said, "Agnez got into a fight with Alpha Vincent, and it led to her death, Alpha James."

"My vengeance power is still active, James. I truly apologize."

I raised my head, and Alpha James nodded, saying, "It's okay. She's no longer a member of our pack. She has become a rogue. And about your power, Vincent, I think we need to talk."
