Aimee's POV
"Aimee, you're asked to meet Alpha James in the backyard."
An omega approached me as I was cleaning the front yard. Why is Alpha James calling me again? What does he want to convey? Don't tell me he wants me to accompany Alpha Vincent again.
I reluctantly got up, not because of my disappointment in his lies but because I didn't feel like interacting with anyone. After the gruesome death of Agnes last night, I needed time to erase the trauma from my mind.
I just wanted to be alone today, to sleep after finishing all the work in the mansion. As far as I know, all the pack members will be training today, so they won't have lunch in the mansion and will return in the evening. I could use this time to pamper myself in my room, to sleep without any haunting burdens.
Alpha James and Alpha Vincent were sipping tea at the table when I arrived. The cold morning atmosphere was suitable for enjoying a warm drink with friends, but why did they still want a weak omega like me to be present among them?
"Aimee, come here! Sit here." Alpha James directed his gaze towards an empty chair in front of him.
I nodded and approached them. Several eyes watched my steps, and the girls in the pack seemed annoyed when my gaze accidentally met theirs. They must be wondering why I was sitting with two Alphas.
"Good morning, Aimee. How did you sleep?" Alpha Vincent asked me with a warm smile, like the morning sun.
"At first, it was a bit difficult, but eventually, I managed to sleep soundly, Alpha Vincent."
"But at least you still managed to sleep soundly, right? That's good. All night, I thought about you. I feel guilty for showing you something terrible that should never have happened. Forgive me, Aimee," Alpha Vincent said in a soft voice, his eyes looking at me with sadness.
"You don't have to—." My sentence was interrupted when Alpha Vincent suddenly held my hand. I wasn't dreaming; his cold skin touched my fingertips. What was he doing?
I looked at Alpha James, who had a blank expression. I couldn't react; why was he doing this? I mean... Why?!
"You don't have to apologize, Alpha Vincent. There was nothing wrong with what happened yesterday. You were trying to protect me. I think a simple 'thank you' is not enough to repay your kindness."
Slowly, I pulled my hand away. I looked to my right and saw two women pack members, glaring at me with malice in their eyes.
If I were in their shoes, I would do the same. There would surely be annoyance and jealousy seeing the weakest omega, who doesn't even have a wolf, being held by the handsome Alpha like Alpha Vincent.
"I called you here for a reason. I want you to accompany Alpha Vincent to perform the sealing of his powers. You need to go to the land of werewolf sorcerers in the west."
Alpha James's words left me even more stunned. Why me? Are there other people who can accompany Alpha Vincent? But I couldn't say it; I was too afraid.
"How about it, Aimee? Are you agree?" Alpha Vincent looked at me, his genuine smile making it impossible for me to refuse.
I nodded and said, "Y-yes, Alpha Vincent."
"Good, thank you, Aimee. It means a lot to me. You also need to receive treatment to overcome that trauma. The effects of my powers are quite influential; that's why I suggested to James to bring you along."
Yes, trauma does leave a mark in one's memory, but I never knew that I would need treatment to get rid of it. I glanced at Alpha James, who was munching on cookies, and said, "Okay, you can go, Aimee. You will depart the day after tomorrow."
I then stood up and started to leave. However, just a few steps away, Alpha Vincent called me.
"Aimee." He seemed to offer me a plate of cookies. "You probably haven't had breakfast. Take these; your face looks pale, Aimee."
I glanced at Alpha James; for some reason, he seemed unhappy with his friend's action. He looked at Alpha Vincent intently, shaking his head.
I didn't have a choice, so I took the plate of cookies and said, "Thank you, Alpha Vincent."
**
Two hours passed, but I kept receiving sneers and mockery because of my encounter with the Alphas in the backyard. Most of the female pack members became restless, and even the omegas joined in taunting me.
Yet, I didn't enjoy those cookies alone. I offered them to everyone, but they refused.
"She thinks that just by accepting a plate of cookies, she can become Alpha Vincent's Luna?"
"She must have sold her body to them. She doesn't have any other abilities!"
Yes, I realize that I'm unworthy of being a Luna to any Alpha. I can only thicken my skin. Luckily, my work is done now, so I can quickly leave their taunts behind and seclude myself in my room.
Sometimes, moments like this make me not want to be born into this world. The Moon Goddess is too cruel, giving me so many problems to face. At least, if I can't have a wolf, let the people around me be kind.
I was just about to lie down when I heard Alpha James's voice outside the bedroom door. What else does he want? Is he angry and going to scold me for accepting the cookies earlier?
Reluctantly, I open the door. "Yes, Alpha James."
The cold-faced man immediately enters and slams the door behind him. He then unbuttons his shirt and says, "Give me satisfaction, Aimee."
"What do you mean, Alpha James?"
"Don't be stupid; I need your body. This is the last, I know you will be with Vincent, and I need to stop. So, let's play for the end game." Alpha James kissed my lips, and I couldn't do anything.
