Celeste woke up in pain, clutching her stomach. "Ah, my stomach hurts."
"I can call the doctor for you, dear," Syron offered.
Celeste shook her head to stop him, "No need, Dad. It happens to me normally."
"Are you sure?" Syron persisted.
Celeste nodded. After a while, she was dismissed and allowed to rest at home. The doctor advised her to reduce her workload to facilitate a quicker recovery.
Back at home, she decided to eat a snack, watch some films, and prepare for sleep when she received a call. She picked it up, sounding sleepy. "H-hello?"
Levi's voice came from the other end, "How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine," Celeste mumbled.
Levi replied, "I'll be there tomorrow."
"O-oh, o-okay," Celeste stuttered before dropping the call.
THE NEXT DAY, Levi knocked on the door of her apartment. She let him inside to discuss his work matter.
Levi made many promises that required the other side to carry out their end of the bargain once he had fulfilled theirs. He wanted to address it properly as it would affect his state.
Even if the arrangement was done by magic, it was still enforceable, and because he performed his end of the bargain, the other party must do their part as well. Nothing would change regardless of whether the other side fulfilled their portion or not. Levi would take their life in any way.
'I have to also think of a solution about my celestial mark.' Levi held her hand, pondering a solution.
"Who are these individuals you made deals with?" Celeste asked.
Levi replied, "Different kinds of individuals, you name them."
"Why is it so urgent then?" Celeste continued.
Levi grinned, "If I don't get my gain, I'll experience pain. It is a state that you can't imagine. The time will come when if I don't settle any deals, you'll see my real physique."
"Your actual appearance?" Celeste looked up, intrigued.
He grabbed her hand and transported her to an unfamiliar, dark place. She walked with him along the pathway, noticing a silhouette on the other end.
"Who is that?" Celeste asked.
Levi stood in front of the individual with a frightening expression. Death awaited that person; a deal was a deal.
With a snap of his fingers, the agreement appeared in thin air.
Levi smirked, "Don't tell me you have forgotten it already?"
"What do you mean?" the person asked, visibly shaken.
Levi stepped forward, his demeanor intimidating, "We made an agreement. It is time for you to fulfill your end of the bargain."
"I can't die right now. I beg you, can you extend it?" the person pleaded.
Levi let out a devilish laugh, "Do you think I'm that merciful, you piece of-"
"I promise I'll repay you in another way, just don't let me die," the person begged, fear evident in their voice.
Levi warned him, his tone stern, "Don't make me angrier than I already am."
In a moment, Levi made Celeste close her eyes. Black magic spread across the area, and the person was nowhere to be found, as if they had vanished permanently.
'Now, if you will show kindness and faithfulness to my master, tell me; and if not, tell me, so I may know which way to turn.' - Genesis 24:49
"Where did he go?" Celeste asked, facing Levi.
Levi turned to her, his eyes now a reddish color. "Hell."
"W-What?" Celeste was surprised by his revelation.
Levi then held her hand, and they arrived at a boutique. He ordered the ladies to choose clothes for her. Celeste followed them but turned her head, grinning at him.
Once Celeste came out of the dressing room, Levi continued to assess each dress, saying "Next" each time.
"Uh, next," Levi gulped.
Celeste grew tired and sighed exasperatedly. "I'm tired. Can't you just pick any of these?"
"You have to try them all," Levi said.
After a while, Celeste emerged wearing a black and gold-styled dress that fit her curvy body perfectly. Even the other ladies couldn't help but squeal at her admiring beauty.
Levi suddenly took notice and instructed, "Get everything she wore."
"Noted, sir," the ladies replied as they folded the clothes.
Confused, Celeste asked, "What is all this for?"
Levi showed his card to the registrar while paying for all the clothes and carried them with his other hand.
"Let's go home," he whispered in her ear, and Celeste agreed with a soft affirmation.
As they made their way home, Levi chuckled. Upon reaching her condo, he dropped her off and then continued on his way. On his journey back, he noticed a familiar silhouette on the road, although he couldn't quite make out who it was.
THE NEXT DAY, Levi felt burning hot. He asked Matthew to bring him plenty of water with ice, but it didn't work, so he headed to the pool.
"Feeling better?" Matthew asked.
Levi nodded, "A bit. I can't explain why I feel like I'm burning."
"Did you violate anything?" Matthew inquired.
Levi, lost in thought, replied, "I'm sure I didn't."
"There might be other reasons why you're feeling this way, don't you think?" Matthew pointed out.
Levi glanced at the hourglass, "It seems time is passing by so fast."
"It certainly does, sir. And so am I! I'm not getting any younger," Matthew exclaimed.
Moving on, Levi checked the golden book and noticed something on the pages.
"I can still do good, huh?"
He turned to the next page, "The other pages had something written on them. Why is this one left blank?"
Levi sought answers, recalling another book given to him. It was black and red.
He put his blood in the book, and it immediately recognized his identity.
"What are you looking for?"
He asked, "What does it mean if a page is blank?"
"It depends. I don't have any information regarding the intentions of the book. It usually contains only the necessary information, unless there are additional conditions. Moreover, everything will be in default."
He pondered, "Why was it here then? Does it have any significance, or what? I can't stop overthinking. I'm also not feeling well. Did I do something wrong?"
