In the eastern side of the the Mailley Forest, every soldiers in Rein Camp are busy settling down their camp and also cleaning up the mess after the tough battle from yesterday. Although exhausted and drained from that battle, they still do their best fulfilling their responsibility as this is the most important step for the exploration.
At a hill nearby, Rein seems to be sitting in a big rock, watching his soldiers settling down for their first base. Seems like the attack and ambush from the monster yesterday seems to woke them up a bit. As he was trying to stand up to make a followup action on his soldiers, he seems to flinched a bit and grasp his right arm. It seems like he have been hurted by the beast like insect yesterday. He is quite disappointed with himself for injuring just from that short battle yesterday, seems like he is a bit in short of strength.
While he turn to his back, he sees Emil watching him from head to toe, trying to get a gist of his general conditions. Then, as if he noticed everything he just sighed while saying this to Rein,
"You seems to be injured from the battle yesterday my lord"
"It's a bit embarrassing but yes seems like my strength isn't that much as I seems it to be"
Hearing his responds, Emil just crossed his arms while questioning him,
" My lord, from yesterday battle I seems to noticed that you are barely using your magic and resort to fighting with your sword instead"
With Emil statements, Rein just turn to his head sideways while grasping his injured arm in contempt, while explaining his situations
" It's not that I don't use magic at all Emil, it just that, Geass magic are limiting my power right now"
Hearing such fact, immediately Emil runs to him and grasp both of his shoulders, and asked in concern as Geass magic are like a curse and detrimental towards the victim, and he absolutely must know who put such things to Rein,
"Who is so daring to put such things on you my lord!!!"
With such concern from Emil, he just can't simply shrugged off his questions,
"Well, neither you or me can do anything about this restriction, I guess it's a proper precautions considered my actions in the past"
Just like that, finally Emil understands and knows the person or rather the organisation that put such curse to his young lord, he felt really angry and annoyed that he clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction,
"Tchh!!"
"It's, the Empire right, they are truly trying to get rid of you, my lord"
"Yeah, it is one of my perks for getting marked ever since that day"
Emil seems to understands but considering his young lord actions for hiding such secret, he surely have his own reasons for not letting other to know even him,
" So you been keeping this secret to yourself my lord?"
"I am sorry Emil, but what will happen to our chain of command if the people on our camp know such things, I actually don't care if it only affects myself but hundreds of people life are now being held as my responsibility "
"So dissolving such information will surely makes them more panic and hard to continue this war, considering their low morale"
With this statement from Rein, Emil just sighed while patting his back,
"While, the people's life are of our concern, you also need to know my lord, your life is also as precious"
"With this type of restrictive magic on your body, you could lose your life anytime, and considering your little experience for physical combat it will affect yourself in a long term"
Hearing the truth, Rein just stand there thinking his bad decision, while thinking of a solutions and it just came to him,
"Emil, what if I placed you as..."
Before he could finish his words, Emil just refuted him with his stop hand gesture,
"No my lord, I think the position of a captain still should be you, I believe in you and I know your true potential"
"But you know my lacks of strength right, if we proceed with this arrangement, I am afraid we will failed this mission"
"Not exactly my lord, follow me"
Before he could argue more, Emil just asked Rein to follow him to certain direction, while contemplating Emil action he just follow him accordingly, while figuring out his thoughts, Emil just suddenly asked him,
"How much is experience for physical combat and swordsmanship my lord?"
"Hmm, not much, I learn a few things in the academy while the other was just me learning it myself"
With such answers, Emil just feels shocked because if a normal person just learn the basics and self learn, they cannot execute it flawlessly in a real battle, but this young lord just used swordsmanship flawlessly yesterday, Moreover he managed to kill a few monster, this could indicate that,
'he is talented for physical combat'
'he could be considered prodigy but considering his background it's not really that absurd' Emil thought
"Anyway, is there any reason for you to say this Emil?"
"Just follow me my lord, you'll know the reason later"
Short after that, they seems to arrive in an open space near the base but still hidden from the masses. Just when Rein wants to seeks his answer, Emil just stand a few distance from him while throwing a sword to his direction,
While Rein is catching the thrown sword mid air, Emil in a serious tone just say,
"Sheath the sword my lord..."
"You want to fight? Why suddenly a swordfight?"
With a grin, Emil just sheathed his sword and say,
"It's time to train my lord, from now on, I am your battle instructor, I'll make sure to grind you to the highest level in no time" Hearing such things Rein just connected the dots,
"Ahhh, now I understand"
"So are you accepting or backing down, it's not too late to make decisions" Emil snickered
Seeing such provoking words, Rein just sheathed the sword on his hands and pointed at his vice captain,
"Heh, this is my answers"
From then, a sounds of swords clashing echoes throughout those empty space, breaking the silence in Mailley Forest.

(One week Later)
A figure could be seen lying on the grassy soil with all four, he is gasping for air while his chest is heaving up and down, Dirt and scratches are all over his leather armor, while sweats are permeating from his skins non stop. While another person just looked at him in a firm standing position, he looks quite satisfied but still he feels it's not enough, Looking to that person, Rein straight forwardly asked,
"So, how's my progress Emil?"
Scratching his clean chin, he just uttered the truth,
"It seems you are more talented than I thought My lord, but it's seems like you are still lacking, we need to train you more"
"More?"
Nodding his heads, Emil continue
"Now that you grasped the most basic swordsmanship, it's seems like stepping up to the real one will be hard for your current conditions, "
"Owh, i think personally I am improving a bit"
"Hmm, that's good but we need to add extra training that will help to elevate your level to much higher level"
"Do I need to increase my time training swordsmanship?"
"No, it's the opposite of that, we need to split up your training session"
"From what I can see, you could grasp the swordsmanship foundation easily, but it's seems your body limit the execution, so you need to improve your body conditions first"
Watching Rein on the ground Emil just tell him what to do next,
"You needs to works out your body, you are quite thin, you need to build up some muscles"
"I am still curious, how can that slender arms moves such a heavy swords, anyway I think your skills will improve better when your work out your body"
"I'll just follow along, as long as I can improve myself for better" Rein say and agreeing with his arrangements,
Seconds later, Emil just brought out a paper from his pockets and give to Rein,
"Give it a read, and tell if if you have inconvenience in following"
*Paper*
(200x push ups)
(100x sits ups)
(12Km Runs)
(50kg stone lift ups)
Seeing such list, Rein just felt shocked but seconds later he just sighed and put the paper on his pocket while responding to Emil,
"I'll do it, even I have to break my bones or spurt out blood"
"That's good to hear my lord"
With this they continue their training with some more addition to Rein's training,
After finishing up their routine training, Rein and Emil just went back to their bases and retire for the day as the sun are slowly turn into darkness. Back in his camp, while lying on his bed, Slowly Rein reach out his hands on the open air and grasp it strongly,
"Ill get stronger no matter what!!!"
"this is nothing, I have face something much harder"
After saying that, he just fell asleep, while someone that's have been leaning towards that camp and hearing those words from Rein, he just smiled and relaxed while gazing at the star,
"I look forward to the day, that you'll defeat me young lord"...
