Frightened and disoriented, we quickly rejoined our group, each of our steps echoing like a panicked heartbeat in the silent forest. Arriving at the clearing, the faces of our companions turned towards us, their eyes filled with worry. Our guide, always vigilant, approached immediately.
-What happened?, asked our guide in a firm voice, scrutinizing our decomposed faces.
Before we could respond, she raised her hand to silence us. "It is crucial that you remember this: never let fear overcome you," she said with a gravity that took your breath away. "Fear is our worst enemy here. It blinds us, weakens us. This world is ruled by forces we do not yet understand, but we must remain strong and united."
I took a deep breath, trying to calm the frantic beating of my heart. "Marc heard voices, and then... everything started to blur. I felt like a presence, something unnatural," I explained, my voice trembling slightly.
Our guide frowned, considering our words. "This world is full of mysteries," she said slowly. "But it seems we are not alone here. The creatures or forces that inhabit this planet can play with our minds, causing illusions."
She turned to the rest of the group, her eyes shining with fierce determination. "We must remain vigilant and work together to understand this threat. No one should wander off alone, and if anything strange happens, we must speak out immediately."
The group nodded in agreement, the urgency of the situation uniting them in solemn silence. We were all aware that our survival depended on our ability to remain calm and rational, even in the face of the unknown.
Our guide motioned for us to gather around the dying fire. "We must strengthen our camp and prepare defenses. The forest offers abundant resources. Let's use them to our advantage."
While some reinforced the shelter with branches and vines, others left to look for more wood and food. The atmosphere was tense but disciplined, with everyone carrying out their tasks with renewed focus.
As I searched for materials, I couldn't help but glance around nervously, listening to the whispers of the forest. I knew our real ordeal was only just beginning. The events of the previous night had left an indelible mark on my mind.
As the day progressed, our guide brought us together again to discuss our findings and plans.
"We need to map the area," he said. "Identify water sources, danger zones, and maybe find clues about the entities watching us."
-But they didn't give us a card?
Marc, still shaken, approached me. "I don't know what exactly happened, but I thank you for helping me," he said, his voice filled with gratitude.
"We're all in this together," I replied, smiling weakly. "We have to look out for each other."
Night fell again, and this time we were better prepared. The fire burned brighter, and our shelters were stronger. Despite the fatigue, no one closed an eye easily. Everyone kept watch, their thoughts wandering between uncertainty and controlled fear.
We knew that beyond our clearing, the forest and its secrets awaited us. We were determined to unravel these mysteries, to understand and to survive. But to do that, we first had to conquer our own fear, the greatest threat in this foreign world.
