Zain turned to Alec with a boredom expression, with that look, no one could ever try to figure out what Zain is thinking, not even his own parents understands him_ and yet, he's the favorite child.
" What?."
Alec said lazily.
" You know, Laura won't let this slide, she will do something, and you know who will end up paying the price."
" I know." Alec simply said with a sigh.
" And? What are you going to do about, Alec? That apartment isn't safe for Emma, nor your daughter." Zain said." You had transferred that house, Lucas and I are living in at the moment into her name already, why not ask her to move in, it's much safer."
" You think she'll listen to me and agree, Emma's stubborn, instead of seeing it as me trying to protect her, she'll think I'm trying to buy her, you know how women are."
Alec lazily laid back in his chair, Lucas giggled softly.
" She might not listen to me," Alec added after thinking about it." but I know someone who she might listen to."
" I'm starving, can we grab lunch now."
Lucas finally spoke out, his stomach grumbling that one could hear it from a distance. The three of them went down to the luxurious cafeteria downstairs, a lot of people have been working in the company for years, some have been around before Alec joined and took over his father's business, and yet, they still adore and admire Alec, especially the ladies, both young and old, the place gets even crazier when Zain and Lucas visit the place. It didn't matter if they were men, or women, old or young, these three gentlemen always attract attention and prestige wherever they went.
They went and sat down in a private booth, this was Alec's private table and no one else was allowed to sit there apart from him, a cafe girl walked up to them to take their orders, Zain ordered an ice tea and a sandwich, Alec ordered a coffee and sandwich, When it was Lucas' turn, he ordered a vanilla smoothie, a burger with fries _ with chicken.
" With that, add three grape juice please, for each one of us, their orders seem a bit boring to me."
Lucas said, the girl gave a slight smile before going to get their food ready.
" So, heard, Darcy is in New York City shooting her next movie, pretty sure you're aware of that." Lucas added. Zain remained quiet and unconcerned.
" Indeed, her face is over the city, she turns up just as you're jumping into your new relationship with, Ava." Alec commented.
" Well, I don't know about you but I'm excited to take things on another level with, Trixie, and I don't have to worry about a thing."
" Lucas?!"
Lucas turned his head, Zain and Alec followed his gaze. Lucas' eyes widened to see Ji-hyun standing a few inches away from where he was.
" I think you spoke to soon." Zain grinned. Ji-hyun walked up to Lucas_ giving him a hug, Lucas just froze stunned by her uplifting spirit.
" You haven't changed."
Lucas said with a slight smile, Ji-hyun has always been a free spirit, smart...kind... sweet... and always smiling, they actually met in South Korea when Lucas went to observe one of his hotels there, Ji-hyun was celebrating her birthday there and they bumped in each other in the main lobby, Lucas was dazed by her beauty and personality, but he wasn't the only one who went falling, they ended up going on several dates when he was in south Korea _ and later began dating, since Ji-hyun is a famous model, their relationship blew up like crazy after seeing them together in many pictures taken by paparazzi, everything was so well until one day, they just decided to part ways, in fact it was Lucas who ended things between them, not that he didn't like her enough or anything, for the matter of fact _ he really liked Ji-hyun very much, she was the perfect girl... still is, but I guess one would say, she was too perfect. When Lucas announced their breakup to her, she didn't throw a feet like other women would do or complain, she simply nodded with a slight sad smile, saying ' I understand, you might have your reason for breaking up with me, I wish you well, Lucas.'
Those were the words she uttered, he could hear the sadness in her tone, breaking of voice, and teary eyes, she's the wisest of women he has ever encountered with. And the first Korean woman he's ever dated, mostly he would go for white Americans and black women.
Ji-hyun gave a slight bow to both Zain and Alec respectively.
" Uhm, what are you doing here, and when did you come to New York?." Lucas asked.
" I came to New York City a week ago, and I came here to pick up a friend, it's her birthday so we're going to celebrate, she'll be finishing up real soon."
Ji-hyun said, her dark chocolate straight hair fell smoothly on her shoulders, dressed in pretty summer white and black dress with Maryjane black shoes.
" Hey, Ji-hyun! Let's go."
Her friend called after her," I'll see you around, Lu." She waved and left.
" Things are about to get interesting around here."
Alec grinned resting back in his seat, at least he wasn't the only one dealing with women problems.

' Ms Qinn, there's someone here to see you.'
' who is it?.'
' Ms, Lisa Qinn.'
' you may let her in.'
Emma said... ending the call, she wasn't expecting Lisa to visit her at her office, especially today of all days, Emma wondered what must have brought her here today?
The doors to her office opened with Lisa emerging through the entrance in a flawless cream white bandage dress, with white heels, pulling out a chair and made herself comfortable.
" It's good to see you doing well, Emma."
" It's been a while, Ms Qinn." They both gave a slight but meaningful smile, Lisa took off her sun glasses putting them back in her purse.
" How's my granddaughter, sorry I haven't come to see her yet, things are a bit crazy at the moment."
" She's doing fine, she's growing up quickly...I honestly don't know where she's rushing to." Both of them giggles warmly. Lisa stared at Emma In absolute silence for a few minutes before getting to the main reason why she was there.
" Emma, I know hearing Laura's name is the last thing you'd like to hear me talk about, but I'm worried."
" Worried?."
Emma creased her brows confused. Lisa sighed sitting in a straight posture.
" Laura, has been acting worried lately, I'm afraid she might do something to you and my granddaughter, she said some things that worried me terribly."
" Ms Qinn _'
" Emma! For your safety, and my granddaughter's safety, I want you to move into Alec's house."
" W... what?." Emma frowned.
" I will be much at ease knowing Zain and Lucas are there with you, there's tight security and house helps around, even if Laura wanted to hurt you she wouldn't succeed because it's surrounded by people, please, Emma." Lisa pleaded with her.
" Did, Alec put you up for this? He knew I would never agree to him so he asked you to talk me into it."
" Don't be hard headed, Emma, think about your daughters safety."
" I am thinking about my daughter's safety, I'm her mother, but I can't move back into that house, I can't."
Emma said standing on her words, that house only brings back a lot of memories, both good and bad, sadness and sorrow, she doesn't want to revisit those painful moments when Alec left her completely alone in the world.
Lisa held Emma's hand, staring straight into her bright grey eyes, Emma could tell how worried and desperate Lisa was, cause she's never seen Lisa react like this... this only meant that, she's really scared to what Laura might do.
" Please, Emma dear, I'm begging you as a mother, and a grandmother, please."
Emma pressed her lips in a thin line, she didn't know what to do about all that was going on, and no words left her mouth.
" Think about it, take good care of yourself."
Lisa said and walked out of her office, earlier, Lisa had received a text message from Alec, asking her to talk to Emma about moving back into their old home for safety measures, Lisa was happy that, Alec, chose her to talk to Emma, it meant that he trusted her to do this and convince Emma, this meant he was slowly opening up to her in his own way, otherwise, he would have asked his father to do it. But he chose her instead, his mother.
