Now that she thinks about it, She has never heard Alec call Lisa ' mother ' not once. Not ever, he always called Lisa by her name. Not to mention how cold and indifferent he is towards her, just the two of them being in the same room made the atmosphere stiff and ice cold. ' did something happen to Alec, when he was a kid?' Emma was curious to know more, maybe she could understand Alec better.
" When Lisa, was a teenager, she was raped by some bastard. When her parents found out she was pregnant they threw her out and cut all ties with her, she was all alone with no place to go, roamed the streets day and night. Until one night she met Grange Qinn, he decided to help her and provide a place for her to stay. He would visit her everyday, they eventually fell in love and got married. When I was born, Lisa didn't even want to look at me. She never once fed me or held me in her arms, she was always cold and hated me. She never let me go play outside nor play videogames, she never allowed me to get near her, she would hit me with every chance she got to vent her anger. there was this one time I was playing by the pool side. I accidentally slipped and fell into the pool, I didn't know how to swim back then. I yelled out to her for help and she was just there staring at me through the living room window, as if her eyes saying ' it would be better if I die '. If Grange didn't arrive on time that day I would be long dead. He never treated me like I was some other man's son, he treated me like his own, he's the only one who loved me...still does. He's the only parent I know, I guess shutting myself out was the only way I knew I couldn't get hurt. When I met you I wanted to shut you out too, but for some reason I couldn't. You were something else Emma, you always got out these little reactions out of me somehow. Something that no one managed to do, that's why I fell in love with you. You're different."
Alec stared at his trembling hands ' why were they trembling all of a sudden? What is this feeling?' He thought to himself, he has never opened up to anyone before, and here he was telling this woman about his tragic childhood. ' No, she wasn't just any other woman, she is the love of his life, the mother to his child. She is no stranger to him, she's his world... his infinity, his entire existence revolves around her.' Alec thought what he was experiencing at that moment was relief, the thrill of letting it out. Telling someone about his painful feelings, it felt good to let it out. His heart felt a bit lighter, such a thrilling feeling.
Emma stood from her seat, unexpectedly pulling Alec in a warm embrace. Alec wrapped his arms around Emma's tiny waist, he could hear her heartbeat beating ever so loudly inside her chest. He loved the sound of it, it calmed his nerves _ everything around him would just disappear and it was only him and her in their infinite circle of love.

" Ava! You literally just got home, are you going somewhere?."
Trixie asked seeing Ava change her clothes and wore a french black wig which she tied up into a ponytail. Trixie creased her brows by the sudden change and outfit.
" Yes, I have work to take care of."
" What work, you literally look like you're about to go and robe a bank?."
" What makes you think I'm going to robe a bank?." Ava raised a brow.
" Your outfit for instance, you're wearing a wig and gloves. Pretty obvious if you ask me."
Ava chuckled loading her gun and putting it in her jacket pocket.
" Are you going to kill someone?." Trixie widened her eyes. Ava pats Trixie's cheeks softly and said.
" Don't worry, this isn't my first kill... I'll be fine." She grabbed her motorbike keys and dashed out.
' she's so cool '
Trixie couldn't help but admire Ava, she was like a role model to her.
Ava revved the engine of her sleek motorbike, the city lights blurring as she sped away from her apartment. The cool night air whipped through her raven - black hair, tied back into a tight ponytail. Her eyes, a Smokey grey, scanned the streets with a practiced intensity.
Lucas' words echoed in her mind: " find them, Ava. Bring them to me, alive or dead. They're a threat to Trixie, and I won't let anyone harm her." Ava's gaze narrowed. She knew Lucas wouldn't ask her if it wasn't crucial. Trixie, her closest friend was in danger.
Ava's thoughts flashed back to her past life as a professional assassin. It had been a month since she quit, seeking redemption and peace. Yet, her skills remained sharp, honed from years of taking down targets with precision.
The five men Lucas wanted her to find were rumored to be connected to the notorious black hand gang. Ava's research indicated they'd be gathering at an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town.
As she approached the warehouse, Ava's instincts kicked in. She slowed her bike, parking it in the shadows drawing a pistol from her jacket, she moved silently towards the entrance. Inside, the air reeked of smoke and desperation. Ava's eyes adjusted to the dim light, scanning the room for her targets. Five men.
Ava's grip on her pistol tightened. This was it. Time to put her skills back to use.
Ava sprang into action, pistol at the ready. She sprinted towards the table, her eyes locked on the five targets.
" Nobody moves!"
She yelled, her voice commanding attention.
The men froze, momentarily stunned. But Ava knew better than to underestimate them. These people were notorious for their ruthlessness.
The apparent leader, a burly man with a scar above his left eyebrow sneered at Ava.
" Or what? You think you're taking us down alone."
Ava smiled grimly. " I don't need backup."
With lightening - fast reflexes, she took down the first two men with precise shots to their knees. The others scrambled to react, drawing guns and knives. Ava dodged a hail of bullets, using the table as cover. She dispatched a third man with a swift kick to the chest, sending him crashing into the wall.
The leader and his remaining accomplice charged at Ava, knives glinting in the dim light. Ava holstered her pistol and drew a pair of razor - sharp daggers from her boots.
The fight was on.
Ava danced between her attackers, her daggers flashing in deadly arcs. The leader lunged. Aiming a powerful blow, but Ava sidestepped and struck back, slicing his arm open.
His accomplice tried to flank Ava, but she anticipated the move. With a swift spin, she sent him stumbling into the leader. The two men stumbled, momentarily off - balance. Ava seized the opening, disarming and disabling them with swift precise strikes.
As the last man fell, Ava stood panting her chest heaving with exertion. The warehouse fell silent, except for the moans of the wounded.
Ava's gaze swept the room, ensuring no hidden threats remained. Satisfied, she pulled out her phone and dialed Lucas' number.
" Done" she said, her voice firm. Lucas' response was immediate: " bring them in, Alive."
Ava smiled wryly. " Mostly alive."
Liam, Lucas' right hand arrived at Ava's location an hour later. Ava couldn't simply gather the five men on her bike so Liam assisted to be the one to bring them in.
" Thank you, please do get some rest." Liam gave a slight bow, Ava nodded hopping onto her motorbike and drove off.
She went straight to take a shower as soon as she got home, a sigh escaped her mouth as she stared at the ceiling. Her mind drifting to Zain, she still couldn't believe she was his girlfriend. The thought of it made her giggle and blush. She returned to her room sitting on the bed, and drying her hair. Her phone lit up.
It was a text from Zain, Ava's smile widened. It was like he knew she was thinking about him just now.
_Text Message_
Zain: ' are you asleep?'
Ava: ' from taking a shower '
Zain: ' Hm, lunch tomorrow?'
Ava: ' sounds good '
Zain: ' good night '
Ava kissed her screen laying on her back and rolling over like a teenage girl.
