Chapter 52 - "Two mothers"

Two mothers stood againts each other, their eyes filled with intensity and curiosity.

As they faced each other, the air seemed to crackle with intensity, an unspoken challenge passing between them. Their eyes interlocked, creating a bridge of silent communication that words could never convey.

It was as if time had momentarily halted, allowing this profound connection to take root. Each woman, a mother in her own right, understood the power and significance of this moment.

Risa's gaze was unwavering, her expression composed yet inquisitive, as if she were carefully deciphering the myriad of emotions flickering across Sakura's face. There was no need for words, the silence between them spoke volumes. Sakura, equally measured, met Risa's dashing and piercing silver eyes with a look that was both appraising and guarding. Her thoughts were a labyrinth, but the slight tension in her posture hinted at a readiness for conflict, a subtle warning not to underestimate her.

In this quiet exchange, there was a mutual recognition of strength and vulnerability, but also a hint of rivalry. The air between them was thick with the unspoken knowledge that each was a formidable opponent, capable of matching the other in wit and will.

The world around them seemed to fade into background, the house's tranquility and beauty becoming a mere backdrop to the silent duel of wills unfolding between these two powerful women.

The gentle whistle of the winds and the distant call of a bird were the only sounds that punctuated the heavy silence. It was a rare moment of raw honesty, where masks were momentarily set aside, and true selves were revealed, if only for an instant.

Both mothers, each fierce and powerful in their own way, understood that this encounter was a prelude to something much larger, a convergence of destinies that would inevitably shape the future.

As the seconds stretched into minutes, the intensity of their gaze remained unbroken. There was no rush, no need to hurry this pivotal moment. For Risa and Sakura, this was a time to measure, to weigh, and to understand. It was a delicate dance of intuition and perception, a silent agreement to respect the strength they saw in each other, even as they prepared for the possibility of conflict.

The tensions slowly eased, replaced by a sense of tentative. Risa and Sakura, two mothers bound by the threads of fade, were interrupted by a familiar call that came from inside the house.

"Sakura?" Someond called for her as she stood motionless in front of the door.

Sakura didn't respond as her gaze at Risa was still unwavering.

Risa heard this familiar voice, calling for Sakura. She gently pushed the door inward, ignoring Sakura.

There, amidst the tension between her and Sakura, her gaze was suddenly drawn to a figure standing a short distance away. Her heart skipped a beat as she recognized the familiar face of Shinjo, her former husband, after a decade.

Time had etched subtle changes into his features, but the essence of the man she once knew remained unmistakable. Shinjo's eyes, a mirror of Risa's own in their sharp clarity, met hers with a mixture of suprise and something else he couldn't quite place.

Shinjo felt a surge of conflicting emotions, anger, nostalgia, sorrow, and a trace of something more tender. He had not anticipated this reunion, and its suddenness left him momentarily unguarded.

Sakura's eyes flickered between them Risa and Shinjo, her perceptive nature picking up on the undercurrents of their silent exchange. The rivalry between the two women now had a new dimension, as Shinjo's presence hinted at a shared history that could influence the unfolding dynamics.

"Oh my god!" Shinjo exclaimed, his eyes widened and his mouth expressed bewilderment.

"What are you doing here?"

"What the hell do you want!?"

"Why did you come back, Risa?"

"Why did you abandon me and Ray?"

Shinjo started to ramble with so many questions.

The two mothers didn't utter something, but their gazes at each other remained unbroken.

"Ray isn't here, you won't find him here."

"Go back to where you belong, you English bitch!" Shinjo blurted with anger and her fists clenched.

This was the final straw and Risa couldn't keep her silence.

"I'm here for my son, I'm taking him with me." Risa uttered, calm and composed.

The tension soared up high and Sakura stood tall in front of Risa with such hostility and indignation.

"You will not take my stepson away from me!" Sakura protested with darkened and violent eyes and her fists clenched.

Risa held up high and scoffed.

"Who do you think you are? You think you can claim something isn't yours to claim?" Risa refuted, smirking at Sakura.

Sakura eyes kept darkening.

Risa took a few steps. Her face and Sakura's face met in such close distance.

"Ray is my flesh and blood, he is mine and I'll take him somewhere but here." Risa muttered, filled with determination.

"Try it, English bitch." Sakura muttered back, her voice is filled with anger and contempt.

Risa softly giggled. She found it amusing that there was a woman who could challenge her authority and nature.
