Chapter 53 - "Mama bear"

Once again, the tension between the two mothers, with their own hidden power and strength, became almost tangible. Their hostile and violent gazes locked, unwavering, as if an unspoken war had been declared.

"I'm here for only one thing." Risa declared, her gaze fixed on Shinjo.

"My son, Ray and there's nothing more." She added.

Shinjo looked at with such anger and hatred.

"Bullshit! You have no fucking right!" He angrily yelled.

"He isn't your son and he never will be!" Shinjo's teeth clenched as he spoke.

Unexpectedly, Risa stepped inside the house aggressively and faced Shinjo.

Shinjo stepped back in fear, taken aback and intimidated by Risa's huge stature and intimidating expression.

Risa's face darkened and, a devilish smile crept on her face.

"You will tell me where my son is, Shinjo, or I swear." Risa muttered.

Her devilish smile never fading on her face.

"I will make your life a living hell, ex-lover." Risa threatened.

"I-I-I..." Shinjo stammered, drowned in fear.

"I don't know where-"

But Shinjo was interrupted by a sound of click. She turned around and saw Sakura holding a loaded Glock 21 pistol aimed at her at point-blank range.

Risa chuckled.

"Get out." Sakura muttered furiously, her grip tightening around the pistol.

"If you feel the weight of this pistol, that's how heavy you fate is about to get." She added with murderous intent.

Risa started to laugh like a maniac, a sound that echoed with the amusement of a villain.

Sakura angrily grunted but remained unfazed by Risa's maniacal laughter.

Abruptly, another sound of gun clicking could be heard once again and it came from outside of the house.

Risa continued laughing. Throughout her whole life, this was the first time she felt entertained and met a person with such poise, boldness, and bravery.

Soon, Sakura felt as if someone was standing behind. She turned around and saw another woman, smiling slyly and pointing a gun at her.

It was Daffodil.

Seeing Sakura was about to shoot her sister, her determination to kill was unshakable and justified. Knowing Daffodil, she'll feel an embracing pleasure once she shot Sakura at point blank range.

Just as Daffodil was about to pull the trigger, Risa stopped laughing. She regained her calm and firm composure in an instant.

"Let's get out of here, Daffodil, my son isn't here." Risa said calmly.

Daffodil grunted and lowered her gun.

She felt immense of disappointment and dissatisfaction toward her sister but couldn't express it.

Risa met Sakura's intense and violent glare one last time. She stepped forward and whispered something to Sakura.

"This is not the end, I assure you." Risa whispered.

Risa then stepped outside in a hurry, never looking back.

Feeling with such disappointment and dissatisfaction, Daffodil couldn't utter anythin cunning and smart to both Sakura and Shinjo. Her piercing glare bore into them for a few seconds before she quickly followed her sister.

Sakura lowered her gun and turned back to face Shinjo, standing frozen and drowned in fear.

"Who was that, and why does she want to take Ray from me?" Sakura asked him, her face darkened and her eyes filled with curiosity.

"She, uhmm, she.." Shinjo struggled to find his own words.

"She was, uhmm, my ex-wife, biological mother of Ray." Shinjo finally spoke coherently.

Sakura scoffed.

"Tell her I'm not afraid of her." Sakura said.

"I'll play her games, I'll wage her battles, if it keeps her from taking Ray away from me. " Sakura declared, armed with such fiery determination and conviction.

Soon, Sakura left the house to attend some of her personal affairs, leaving Shinjo alone in the house.
