"System…did the plot description say sea goddess or god? Cause look at that male chest! It's flat, okay! That's a male! And that fish scales and fins, that may be a different form of a merfolk but it's still male!"
'Umm, so the world will overwrote Ara's identity and gender too.'
"..."
Leon was high in the atmosphere but with his strong eye sight, he could see the island from that height. He arrived at the point where Ottar had woken up from being saved but he had fallen for the Sea god and was asking the other villagers if they saw her.
'Buahahaha. He thought the sea god that saved him was a girl! No wonder the sea god later changed his gender!'
Leon had pretended to be a lost villager from another island and slowly integrated with the villagers and earned their complete trust. Leon was gardening his crops in front of his hut when his neighbor, Ottar, was asking around about the one that saved him. Ottar was walking dejectedly to his hut.
"Ottar! Did you want to trade food? I have this fruit but I need fish to complete my dish I want to make."
"Oh, that's right. I need to hunt for food. I'll hunt something real quick and will be back and give you some."
"Thanks! I'll save some portion of my food for you to eat. You're a big strong man so you need lots to eat!"
Ottar rushed into his hut and carried his hunting weapons to go. Leon watched Ottar rush off with interest.
"Big strong man, huh. Is that the type of man you like?"
"Huh? Husband? When did you arrive??"
Leon knew Neitos was eating invisible vinegar. Just like the first world where he was jealous of his mount. Leon thought it was so silly and so he jumped towards Neitos and wrapped his arms around the man. Giving Neitos a quick smooch on the lips and rubbing his hair on Neitos's concave between his neck and shoulder. Neitos was happy again and picked up Leon into their hut. Leon explained that Ottar was in love with the Sea god and had misunderstood the sea god's gender.
"The sea god is also interested in Ottar but he was angry to have his gender misunderstood so he just watched the other struggle from a far."
Neitos told Leon as he had sensed the sea god nearby when Leon was watching Ottar ask around like a pecking hen.
'He knew the situation and still got jealous over his spoken words. How unreasonable and silly.'
Leon chuckled and shook his head. Ottar finally returned and noticed Neitos.
"This is?"
"My mate!"
"But you two are men?"
"Who says men and men can't be together?"
Ottar was shocked to the core at Leon's words. Neitos had a slight smile from the joy Leon's words gave him. Gods don't care about the gender of their fated ones, they could create a child from the bond of their souls and energy. While humans only mate with the opposite sex to have more kids and increase the population. Ottar may be a god but was raised by the humans so he only had one perspective. Leon and Neitos knew that the sea god was nearby, listening in on their conversation. Leon thought it wasn't fair for Ara to have to change his gender just to be together with Ottar. Ara was a god so he knew that gender didn't matter but he cared about Ottar's image of him so he had changed his gender after his anger faded. Ottar ate Leon's food. It was delicious but he was still too shocked to appreciate the food. The couple kicked the shell shocked Ottar out of their hut after dinner and Ottar was left to ponder about his thoughts. He looked carefully at his memories of the Sea god. As a god as well, his memories aren't bad. He was intelligent, sharp, and understanding. Looking back, was his savior a male? Was that why the other didn't come to find him after saving him? Does that mean he lost his chance to know who the other was? He remembered vividly, the worry and warmth within their beautiful eyes. Ottar was in bed, with closed eyes, pondering on his thoughts.
He then finally sensed that someone was near him and approaching his bedside. He waited until he opened his eyes and grabbed the other's wrist which was about to touch his face. He was shocked, it was his savior! He pulled the other into his embrace and held the other's waist. So the other was really a male. It's really his own fault in causing his own misfortune. Ottar looked at his eyes for a long time before looking at his other features. Ottar realized the other was not a human.
"You have fish like ears? And theres scales on your skin."
Curious, he moved his hand to feel the texture of the scales near the ear. The other trembled at being touched in a sensitive area.
"Oh, does that hurt?"
The other looked back into Ottar's eyes and shook his head.
"Can you speak?"
Ottar noticed slits on the other's throat. He moved his face closer and noticed that they were closed. The other felt ticklish at the hot breath of Ottar. He squirmed but then decided to stay still. His body was blushing from shyness. Ottar pulled himself back and noticed. Thinking back on what happened during dinner with Leon and Neitos, men and men can be together. So…how do two males do intimate stuff? Should he ask the couple tomorrow?
"Can you tell me your name? Oh, you can't speak. Hmm."
Ottar was thinking of ways to have the other share his name. But was startled when the other went forward and stuck their tongue into his mouth, sharing saliva.
'Can you hear me?'
"Eh? Is that you talking in my head?"
The other nodded and smiled brightly. An invisible arrow was shot into his heart and he tightened his arms on the other's waist while laughing freely.
'My name is Aranai, the god of all the seas.'
"Huh?! You're a god? But you don't seem that strong?"
Ottar was skeptical at Aranai's soft appearance. Aranai pouted and used his strength to push Ottar on his back and straddled the other with his legs. Ottar was dumbfounded at the force of strength but then he fell into a trance at their closeness and body posture. Ottar looked at Aranai's proud expression and Aranai was feeling good about himself before he felt a hot hardness under his bum. Aranai was startled unexpectedly and flushed red from embarrassment.
'Pervert!'
Aranai quickly got off and left. Ottar was still in a daze looking at the closed hut door.
