When he woke up the next day, it as raining cats and dogs. He got out of bed an changed into his normal attire. After which he headed for the shack with a lamp in hand. He wanted to reintroduce the concept of electricity even though he had no idea of how to actually produce it. He reached for his travelling bag and pulled out a book. He looked at the cover and realized it was a zombie comic and so he began reading.
Upon completion, he picked up his lantern and headed for the gate. He had heard some commotion through the rain. Upon arrival, he found his friend but he had been zombified. "What do u want?" Alex asked it softly. "Thank you for rescuing us," he heard someone say. Alex jumped back. 'Did it just talk?' Alex asked himself. 'Of course it didn't. I'm just delusional. Maybe its one of those I read about in the comic book.' Alex added as he nodded to himself. "Sorry to break the ice buddy but we are waiting for you to find a cure," the voice said again. "For this reason, we will neither attack you nor your companions."
With those few words the zombie left like nothing had ever happened and disappeared into the rain. After this, Alex went straight to the shower an began to think exactly what just happened. His conclusion, he could talk to zombies if only he was in a fantasy world. Or maybe his depression had gotten the better of him.
He turned the valve off and got dressed before heading for the sitting room then to the basement. "I'm sorry but I'm trying my best," he said to himself. He heard shuffling of feet before one of the to zombies appeared and he thought he heard it say, "Don't cry my son. We are very proud of you. e are also proud that you still remember your promise to us." "How can you say you're proud of me when I'm not even trying to find the cure?" Alex asked tears welling up.
'My parents were turned into one of those zombies and I couldn't bring myself to kill them so I put them in the basement. "No matter how much you say you're proud of me, don't you know time is running out and this change might be permanent," Alex said, with a concerned tone. "As for now my son, we're fine but some food could really help," A voice said. 'But there lies the whole problem, I've tried giving them different types of meat but they can only feed on human meat. But I guess this is because of the....'
Alex sobbed softly. "Here come your wives. Stay strong and cheer up my son," the voice said before the zombie disappeared into the darkness. "Honey should e tell him about the new scent that we have been getting?" one voice said. "Let's not burst the bubble. Maybe she'll tell him when she's ready," the other voice replied. Sarah and Princess wiped his tears and led him to the couch. Sarah lay his head on her lap while Princess watched. She still felt like an outsider but she didn't know what to do.
Alex apologized after he got out of his sorrow. "What is it that eats your mind every time you get close to that door dear?" Sarah asked. Alex only stared into the fire, he didn't quite feel like answering her question. It felt pointless and so he thought that it would be better to lie than to tell the truth.
"Do you to carry weapons while outside?" Alex asked. He knew they would fin the question kind of stupid. They nodded. "Why?" he asked. "For protection against the zombies because they bite," Princess answered. Waving the question away, he said, "Sarah, about the punishment, I accept only the second one but please do put on some 'essentials'. And what about you Princess, what do you want from me?" "Hmmm... Just give me a kiss for now maybe next time I'll think of a better one," Princess said.
Alex sprang into action and kissed the woman until she let out a soft moan. Sarah took his hand and placed it on her bosom. Alex' fingers twitched. "Can you feel it?" Sarah asked with her face bright red. Alex nodded.
