When Evelyn came back from the bathroom, she found Daemon in the kitchen, his sleeves folded to the midpoint of his forearms. She was about to change her direction, curious about what he was doing, and also because of what happened earlier. But he didn't let her. He seemed to know what she would do, and he spoke without raising his head:
"Go wait for me in the bedroom, and get ready to go to bed."
Evelyn paused, and she obeyed, but she didn't forget to roll her eyes, still feeling as if he was treating her like a child, yet a smile appeared in her lips when she turned her back to him.
It didn't take long for Daemon to come inside. He was holding a glass in his hand, and he placed it on the dressing table, in front of Evelyn who was drying her hair.
He took the dryer from her, and she took the warm glass, a tacit silence broken only by the sound of the hot air being blown to dry off the long brown hair.
