Daemon had a smile on his face when he replied, but his voice was not smiling at all. Instead, it had a neutral feel to it.
Evelyn remembered the people she had seen take over Daemon's treatment at the hospital. She felt that pursuing the subject might not be a good thing, so she turned to her son and asked:
"Jason, are you done?"
The latter swallowed the last bite of his breakfast and nodded.
"Then, go wait for me in the bathroom. I will come soon."
"Okay, mum." He turned to Daemon and added like a little soldier reporting: "Dad, I'm going to take a bath."
"Then, go."
With that answer, Jason left with a smile. Daemon followed him with his eyes, while Evelyn took the plates from the table.
By the time she was done with hers and Jason's shower, she saw Daemon with an apron getting busy in the kitchen. She suppressed her annoyance, as she knew even voicing it would not change anything.
