The applause from the back managed to reach Daemon and company. The clapping sound managed to surpass the ambient noise, attracting those who did not have any idea or interest about the presentation that happened. After all, most visitors at the convention came to satisfy their curiosity, and now they were curious.
Daemon didn't turn around, but Evelyn did, and her eyes widened slightly in surprise:
"Isn't that Connel?"
That made Dinaia who had been holding her grandmother's arm while looking at Daemon like a one would look at a rare beast turn to follow Evelyn's gaze.
Her eyes also fell on Connel, the latter's dark face and apparently foul mood making him distinct from the joyous crowd. She wrinkled her nose and huffed in dissatisfaction as she turned her head away.
