"Hello, Mr Peak?"
Isaac's voice rang in the quiet interior of the limousine.
"Where are you?"
It was Daemon's voice, a voice Evelyn would never mistake for another. It was calm, with no discrepancy compared with what she would expect at any time, and had it been before, Evelyn would have been convinced, relieved even, that she had been wrong. But with what happened a few days ago when she had been plunged into the dark world normal people did not ever see most, if not all of their lives, she could not snuff out the hint of wariness in her heart.
Just a bit, her situation was like Daemon's mild paranoia that pushed him to have an armored car.
"A few minutes from the destination, sir."
Isaac's deference toward someone almost ten years younger than him, as he replied, couldn't have seemed more normal, from his tone.
"I see. Be careful on the way, and take Evelyn's words as my own."
"Of course, sir."
