Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

"Good evening, Pietro!"

As soon as he pushed open the door and entered the living room, Juan saw his silver-haired uncle walking around the kitchen helping out everywhere, and if one paid a little attention, they would notice that he walked much faster than normal.

"Good evening, Juan. Do you mind if I join you for dinner at your place?" Pietro saw Juan return and enthusiastically waved at him.

Juan smiled, "Of course, you're welcome anytime!"

"Dear, go change your clothes first, it will be ready soon."

Noticing Juan's return, Wanda happily ran over with a spoon, kissed him, and then quickly returned to the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Pietro, who was chopping onions, couldn't help but reveal a look that was both sad and relieved.

Sad because the two lovebirds were showing affection in front of a single dog like him, but relieved because his sister had found her happiness.

Initially, when he found out his sister was dating Juan, he was against it. Juan's reputation wasn't that good, and he was worried his sister would get hurt in the end.

But after getting to know him, he realized that some rumors were not to be believed.

"I'll help too!"

Juan, now in casual clothes, naturally joined the kitchen to help.

Growing up poor, apprenticed to a master, and fighting overseas to repay his master's kindness, Juan's past life experiences were not all privileged.

Perhaps in front of subordinates and enemies, he was intimidating and ruthless, not flinching to kill someone, which made him appear terrifying.

But in reality, he was not bloodthirsty, nor did he randomly kill innocent people.

So when there was no danger, he was still the same person who enjoyed practicing martial arts, eating, cleaning, and fishing in the river with his martial brothers in his past life.

This was why whether it was Wanda, Pietro, or the normal employees in the company, they all found it easy to get along with Juan, the CEO, and thought he had a good personality.

Laughing and chatting like this, soon all the dishes that were prepared were all on the table.

"Just a moment, something is still missing."

When the three of them sat at the dining table ready to eat, Wanda suddenly stood up again.

Juan and Petero looked at each other and said at the same time:

"The Dick Van Dyke Show"

The Dick Van Dyke Show, this is a sitcom, and also Wanda's favorite TV show to watch.

Before Wanda and Petero's parents passed away, their family lived a poor life, with their father supporting them by selling DVDs.

Every evening at dinner, the family would sit together and watch the DVD of The Dick Van Dyke Show that their father kept hidden at the bottom of a box, refusing to sell.

"Correct answer, I'll reward each of you with a grilled sausage!"

Wanda handed out a sausage to Juan and Petero, then picked up the remote and turned on the TV, playing the funny sitcom.

In ordinary upper-class society, eating while watching TV like this would not be accepted, considered rude behavior lacking in dining etiquette.

But Juan never minded these things, he used to enjoy watching TV with his brothers while squatting in the yard with a bowl in his past life, and later continued to do so alone abroad, and sitcoms were his favorite.

Perhaps it was precisely because of Juan's various very common behaviors and habits that Wanda truly let go of her guard and fell in love with him.

Otherwise, with only money and flattery, he could only attract those materialistic gold-digging women, unable to make Wanda, who was full of hatred, let go of her hatred and fall in love with him.

Completing the mainline tasks of the system is not difficult, but achieving the best rewards requires effort.

Without exchanging true feelings for true feelings, one cannot reach the stage of marriage.

"Oh, Wanda, I have something I want to discuss with you."

Halfway through the dinner, Juan suddenly spoke up.

"What's the matter, my dear?"

Wanda giggled and shifted her gaze from the TV, turning to look at Juan.

Juan pretended to cough, then said slowly:

"Well, Wanda, currently the company's business in Sokovia has no room for progress, I want to expand the company's operations by entering the American market. So, we might have to settle in New York for a period of time."

"Do we really have to go to America?"

Originally, Wanda was laughing at the TV, but suddenly frowned, showing a troubled expression.

"I knew it wouldn't be that simple."

Juan looked at Wanda's expression and sighed in his heart.

The difficulty level of the tasks given by the panel is usually related to the rewards, and the opportunity to enter the small world for six months is obviously not just any reward.

So, wanting to settle in New York with Wanda is not as easy to accomplish as imagined.

In fact, Juan prefers tasks like the previous mission to eliminate the Hydra, because that type of mission is actually his specialty.

He knows why Wanda doesn't want to settle in America, because deep down, Wanda hates that country, especially New York, where Stark Industries headquarters is located.

Wanda's parents were killed by Stark missiles back then because her latent magical abilities altered the probability of missile explosions, preventing the second missile from exploding in front of her and Pietro.

"If you don't want to go, then it's okay, I have a private plane anyway, I can fly back and forth for anything, just like commuting to work by car."

Originally, Juan wanted to use Wanda and Pietro's hatred for Stark Industries to urge Wanda and him to go to New York, and he had already thought about the rough words to say at them.

But when he saw Wanda's expression, he involuntarily changed his mind.

Although he also wanted to become stronger in order to protect Wanda, if he went to any lengths for anything, would he have deviated from his original intention?

There have always been side quests, tasks that will eventually appear with rewards of small world time.

And just as he had mentioned earlier, he could take a private plane to travel between New York and Sokovia, it was just a bit of a hassle.

Today, he could have used means to urge Wanda to go to New York with him in order to become stronger, but if a future task was released by the panel that required him to kill Wanda to receive an unimaginable reward, would he also choose to sacrifice Wanda?

If everything is only for the sake of becoming stronger, then he becomes the strongest all alone, what's the point?

At this moment, Juan suddenly felt relieved.

"Yes, i think i'm just gonna do that, let's go eat!"

"No, let's settle in New York, I think maybe it's not as bad as I thought."

However, just as Juan had finished a series of mental preparations and decided to give up the side quest, Wanda suddenly looked at him, relaxed her brows, and changed her mind with a smile.

"Wanda... you?"

Juan showed a confused expression, because he couldn't figure out why Wanda suddenly changed her mind.
