Chapter 13 - Road to heaven

The sound made Hildebrant tremble and the flaming ball in his hand flicker.

There was not even time to understand what was happening as right after the voice left the girl's mouth man in a tight body suit moved, as silently as before but many times faster, and stretched his hand to grasp the girl's mouth.

Time slowed down and Hildebrant without hesitation twisted his burning hand in man's hand direction and crushed it with the ball of flame hovering above his palm.

The heat from its disorder air around and when it crashed his entire body froze while Hildebrant was sent flying to the wall with the girl still holding his hand. Hitting the wall his insides trembled and then they shook again when the girl fell on his chest.

Darkness flooded his dome of light that disappeared the moment the ball of flame was obliterated by man's hand and, as it did man stayed frozen but before darkness could consume him whole from behind him Hemri was already upon him with a blade that manifested into his hand.

It was formed from marble that glistered in his flame light but even when darkness flooded the entire place Hildebrand could still observe its sharp edges making whistling sounds through the surroundings and then stopping.

"Are you sure you want to fight?"

Came growl from darkness.

It was an animalistic sound full of murderous fury, but the only answer came in the form of another smaller blade making its way to an invisible enemy.

Howl escaped the man's lips and then wind pressure sent him stumbling back into the wall he came from and without hesitation, he embraced the girl to shield her from the pressure that came from an unseen fight that happened in darkness before them.

The clashing of metal entered his ears and then the sound of flesh being parted travelled all around them. The man kept growling like an animal, but Hemri also was not left unheard, and his golden armor rustled as he moved around his adversary.

"I hate fighting your kind."

Said the man and then as steel clashed something changed and a second later something passed through darkness prepared to penetrate the girl's head, but Hildebrand moved his body in time to let things pass through his shoulder.

A sword similar to one Hemri held before was now in him and its sharp edge was causing him extreme discomfort.

"Why are you protecting that animal?!"

Hildebrant answered by bringing the girl deeper into his embrace and then confusingly looking into darkness from where most of the sound of fighting already disappeared and was replaced by raged breath of man.

"She isn't worthy of even breathing the same air as you so why?! Is it because she is from the Pale Order?"

The girl trembled in his embrace and then burrowed her head deeper into his chest.

"What? The truth hurt you wrench?"

Came sneer and then another shaky and weak voice came out of the darkness.

"You can't hurt them Icarus…..."

Hemri said but right after words came out, the sound of choking made Hildebrant instinctively let flames flow through his bloodstream.

"Who said I want to hurt them? I wasn't one trying to use them like tools Hemri."

The boy struggled with all his might and Hildebrant listened as the armor on his body began to bend and air slowly began to disappear from his lugs.

"All…I wanted was…...to get out..."

"Yes, you wanted."

Said Icarus and after a loud crack all sounds of struggling ceased and someone or something began to come closer to him until it stood right before him and the girl. Silhouette of a man squatted down and then with its hands it tenderly grabbed the sword embedded in his shoulder and quickly took it out and then immediately put its hand on his wound.

Blood in his body surged on its own and after man retracted his hand his wound was gone, and his flesh and bones were whole again.

"I apologize if it hurt."

Man, then tried to touch the girl in his hand but Hildebrant brought her closer the moment man's hand moved.

Stopping at what he was doing man retracted his hand and then with a sigh he stood up.

"Light up, boy."

Icarus commanded and Hildebrant let some flames escape his skin illuminating some of his surroundings and the man who was now covered from head to toe in red.

Crimson blood dripped down his head and hand, but he didn't look to care, and when he noticed his gaze, he even smiled and combed his hair pushing blood on them deeper into his hairs.

"Much better don't you think?"

Hildebrant stared at the man and the girl turned her head prepared to open her mouth but before she could hand grasped her jaw and forcefully closed it while Icarus put one of his fingers on his lips.

"Let's go I will show you my heaven."
