Chapter 45: Demi-Gods
As I looked in front of me, the person whom I saw surprised me a little.
How the hell did he end up here ? Wasn't he supposed to be at the other side of the world right about now?
"Are you okay?" I heard Naruto's familiar voice as he helped me to stand up.
Sasuke was in front of me, combating the man who was pummeling me just now.
"I am alright, my armor stopped most damage." I said as I struggled to stand up. Even with Steels Bio-armor, it seems like I had taken sufficient damage to the point of struggling to stand up slightly.
Sasuke currently had his Susasanoo arm manifested and he swatted the bald man away from us.
"Of course you had something planned, Lucas." Mathew said in a calm tone.
Right now we were still at Blairs front yard, but most of it seemed to be damaged. There were craters everywhere.
Honestly it's surprising that the house was intact at this point.
"Who is he?" Naruto asked as a small, yet reassuring golden glow flickered on him.
"My…uncle." I couldn't help but say in disgust.
"He doesn't seem like a good person." Naruto said as he cracked his neck a little and stood in front of me to guard me too.
"He isn't."
"Well then, leave him to me. Evacuate the people around here." Naruto instructed as the golden glow around him surged to an insane degree.
The sheer amount of Chakra he was emitting right at this moment was daunting.
Especially since my Energy now contains traces of Chakra.
I was able to tell how much Chakra Naruto had.
And it seemed…boundless.
"Naruto. Be careful, he always has something planned." I warned to which Naruto gave me a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry Lucas. I am the man who is destined to become Hokage. I won't let some nobody defeat me today."
At that I nodded and changed into normal clothing through Steel and quickly moved to Anya.
"PAPA!" Anya screamed as she ran into my arms.
"Are you hurt Anya?" I asked to which she didn't reply and continued to cry.
"I was so scared….WAAAAAAAHHHH."
Wow, the lungs on this child.
As I carried the crying Anya, I quickly sped my way to where Blair was.
I am sure they heard of the commotion at this point and should be hiding somewhere inside.
"Lucas, I was able to scan the house. They are currently in an underground bunker. I know where the entrance is." Steel instructed.
I quickly followed Steel's instructions to reach the location at which Blair was.
"Blair, open up! It's me Lucas, we don't have time!" I shouted, to which Blair quickly opened the doors.
Inside was just Blair and her maid but they were clearly shaken up by the situation.
"Lucas, what do we do?" Blair quickly asked me. It seems us being in these types of situations so often has caused her to instinctively rely on me.
"This bunker isn't safe, it won'-" before I was able to finish though, Steel took control of my body and shoved everyone to the corner of the room.
Right as that was done, Sasuke who was currently covered in the first layer-bone layer- of his Susano crashed into the Bunker.
"While I have been enjoying myself, move aside." The crazed man said as his maniacal smile locked onto me again. "I have a job to complete after all."
As he said that, he floated into the sky slightly as the world seemed to bend to his will.
His eyes turned into a bright red color as I realised what was probably going to happen.
Sasuke also seemed to realise what was happening and instantly activated the maximum version of his Sasunoo.
Sasuke's Susanoo roared to life, towering over everything around us with a terrifying presence.
The dark blue armor shimmered with an otherworldly glow, intricate patterns of light tracing along its massive frame.
As it fully manifested, the sheer force of its power caused the ground to quake, and several nearby houses crumbled under the pressure of its appearance.
The air seemed heavier as its glowing eyes locked onto the enemy, an overwhelming aura of power radiating from the colossal figure.
The enemy's blazing laser eyes struck Sasuke's Susanoo head-on, unleashing a deafening explosion.
Yet, as the smoke cleared, the attack had left only a crack on the armor, scratching its defense.
All of us were currently housed inside of his Susanoo, which I could say was probably the safest place we could be in the vicinity of this fight.
"Is there any way I can help?" I instantly asked, trying to make myself useful.
Sasuke turned around to me and I was able to get a better look at his condition. He seemed like he was slightly damaged as there was blood around his mouth.
His eyes, which were currently in their Eternal Mangekyo and Rinnegan form also seemed slightly strained.
As he made eye contact with me he looked down towards the man Naruto was fighting.
"There are about 50 more enemies in the vicinity, enclosing us." Sasuke instructed in a calm manner as he pointed in a certain direction.
"There is the weakest direction. Evacuate the civilians in that direction. Be careful though Lucas, they are all Meta-Humans."
After saying his piece, before even allowing me to reply, Sauske used his Rinnegans teleport ability to send me away from the battlefield.
As I then turned to look at the battle, what I saw scared me a little.
The towing figure of Sasuke's Susanoo was currently staring down at our enemy.
It felt as if their wills were being imposed into the world itself.
Right…this was a fight that is currently way beyond me.
I have no business in a place where beings akin to gods were fighting…
As I looked down to see Anya, who was sobbing yet trying to stay quiet so she isn't a bother and at Blair who was clearly frightened to her core.
I couldn't help but think…
One day. One day I will stand at a height so high in the world where nobody has any business in telling me what I can and cannot do.
As I steeled my resolve, I immediately activated my Bio-armor.
"Lucas…." Blair looked at me in shock. "You…you are one of them?!"
Seeing the confusion and look of betrayal on her face I couldn't help but sigh.
If I had the choice, I didn't want to reveal this to the world at all…let alone to Blair. I knew how she felt about meta-humans.
But Ignoring her for now, I decided to continue formulating a plan with Steel.
"Anya." I called out, my tone as calm as possible.
The young kid looked up towards me, looking at me hopefully.
"Don't worry, I will take care of you."
Those words seemed to visibilly calm her down, as I passed the young girl to Blair.
"Take care of her for just one second."
"Lucas, I believe that the plan you suggested before should work. With our current amounts of Fusion Energy, we will be able to go through with this."
After receiving my confirmation, I then activated my Clone mode.
As I activated Fusion Mode, a surge of energy coursed through me, and in an instant, three identical clones of myself materialized beside me, each exuding the same aura I was.
"You… you're really one of them," she whispered, her voice trembling.
Meanwhile, Anya's reaction was the complete opposite. Her teary eyes lit up, and she clapped her hands in delight.
"PAPA IS SO COOL!" she cheered, her voice echoing through the tense atmosphere.
The innocent excitement in her voice was a stark contrast to the chaos around us, but it brought a small, determined smile to my face.
Not that they could see it with the mask I was wearing.
"Alright," I said, my voice firm as I turned to my clones. "Let's do this."
With a deep breath, I watched as my three clones seamlessly shifted into Speed Mode, their forms blurring slightly as their energy signatures adapted to prioritize agility.
In a flash, they each moved to pick up Blair, her maid, and Anya, handling them with care despite the urgency of the situation.
Meanwhile, I activated Flight Mode, my armor adjusting instantly as sleek, glowing pulsers unfurled from my back, humming with energy.
"Time to make myself a bait," I muttered inwardly, my voice calm but resolute, knowing Steel would catch every word.
With a powerful thrust, I launched myself into the air, accelerating in the direction where my Speed Clones were swiftly evacuating Blair, her maid, and Anya.
As I ascended, I unleashed a surge of Fusion Energy, allowing it to erupt outward in a controlled but dramatic display.
A massive blue aura radiated from me, lighting up the sky like a beacon.
The energy spread rapidly, enveloping the entirety of Starling City in its glow, casting an otherworldly hue over the landscape.
The sheer intensity of the aura was impossible to ignore, and I knew it would draw every eye, friend or foe, to this location.
If the sonic booms from Sasuke's battle hadn't already alerted the city, the brilliant flare of energy ensured no one could miss where the chaos was unfolding.
My presence was now unmistakable, and I could only hope it was enough to buy the others the time they needed.
