Chapter 47: Warning
Time seemed to slow as he hurtled toward me, his outstretched hand crackling with dark energy, the madness in his eyes reflecting the chaos he was about to bring.
The air around him distorted, a vortex of power swirling as he closed the distance between us.
Every instinct screamed at me to evade, to escape. But there was nowhere to run. Zoom was everywhere—his presence was suffocating, inescapable.
It was as if the very world bent to his will, and I was just a prey being hunted, helpless in his wake.
The fear was palpable, an icy grip tightening around my chest. He wasn't just fast. He was a force of nature, and I was nothing more than a fleeting shadow in his path.
The instant Zoom's hand latched onto me, my flight wavered violently, and I struggled to regain control, but it was too late.
His vibrating hand pierced through my Bio-armor like it was made of paper.
The jagged, searing pain exploded through my chest as his hand crushed my shoulder bones, the agony indescribable.
"AHHHHHH!" I screamed, my vision blurring with the intensity of the pain.
It was as if every nerve in my body was on fire, and the pressure from his hand felt like it was tearing me apart from the inside out.
"How is this possible... Is he vibrating at the frequency of air to phase through objects?! OH NO, this counters my armor!" Steel's voice cracked with panic, his usual calm shattered by the brutal reality of the situation.
His words echoed in my mind as I realized just how powerless I was against this man. Zoom wasn't just fast—he was a force that bent the very fabric of reality to his will.
"You're mine!" Zoom growled, his voice dripping with sadistic pleasure as he twisted his hand, sending waves of inhumane pain coursing through my body once again.
His grip tightened, and I could feel the coldness of death looming over me.
But just as I thought the darkness would consume me, a sharp twang cut through the air, followed by the sudden whoosh of an arrow.
It flew straight at Zoom's face, and in a flash, he caught it effortlessly, his fingers squeezing the shaft with terrifying precision.
For a brief moment, his focus shifted—just enough for Steel to react.
With a surge of what little Fusion Energy remained, Steel unleashed a blinding flash of light, blurring the surroundings in a chaotic burst of power.
The flash was so intense that it must have burned Zooms retinas since he was in such close proximity…assuming he was human.
It wasn't much, but it was enough.
I couldn't waste a second. With the last of my strength, I forced myself to break free, the excruciating pain still coursing through me as I tried to regain control.
I could feel my body shutting down, the strain of manipulating three clones at super-sonic speeds and trying to maintain my own flight mode draining me faster than I could handle.
The pain from the injury in my chest was still there, gnawing at me, but the real threat now was my lack of energy.
My Fusion reserves were nearly empty, and I refused to tap into the clones' energy—people I cared about were relying on them.
And I would rather die than let something happen to them.
"Lucas, get it together!" Steel's voice was a harsh, urgent command in my mind, but it barely registered.
The weight of exhaustion and the overwhelming pain was starting to drown me.
I could feel the air slip away from me as I began to fall, the ground rushing up with terrifying speed.
Every instinct screamed at me to regain control, but the energy simply wasn't there. I was done.
Just as I braced for impact, expecting to crash into the concrete below and take more blunt force damage, something unexpected happened.
A surge of red lightning enveloped me, crackling violently around my body, and I was suddenly carried from the air.
My surroundings blurred as I was carried away, carried further and further from the battlefield.
I couldn't even focus on who or what was saving me, my mind too clouded by the toll of the battle.
I didn't know if I was being pulled to safety or into something worse, but for the moment, the world around me was nothing but flashes of red and the distant sound of the chaos I had left behind.
…
(Naruto and Sasuke)
"How is he able to keep up with me?" Naruto couldn't help but ask out loud as he zipped around the battlefield.
His opponent, someone who was Lucas's uncle, didn't seem to have any special types of energy inside of him.
At least not something that he was able to sense.
Even with the unique energy Lucas used, Naruto was able to sense due to his Uzamaki bloodline and Kurama.
But from this man who seemed to be keeping up with his pace, Lucas was unable to sense anything.
'Maybe it is time you stopped holding back?' Kurama questioned from inside of Naruto's mind.
It was true…Naruto was only at about 50% of his strength even in his current state.
There were still forms beyond his current level he could access…it was just that he was holding back since this man was still at the end of the say Lucas uncle.
'I understand your worries, Naruto…' Kurama spoke from inside his mind, 'But this man is not a good person.'
Naruto nodded.
He could sense the intense malice from this ma afterall.
"While I have enjoyed myself." Lucas's uncle spoke in a calm voice, dusting his outfit, seemingly some time of armour, still in pristine condition
"I believe it is time for me to have a chat with my nephew."
Naruto sighed at this.
He then turned to his side to see Sasuke barely being able to keep up with the man he was fighting.
It seems like Sasuke's opponent was much more dangerous than the man he was currently fighting.
"If you want to get to Lucas." Naruto spoke in a composed tone. He made a plus sign with both his hands. "How about getting through me first."
"Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Thousands upon thousands of clones formed in an instant, each in Kyuubi-Chakra mode. They moved in the blink of an eye, evacuating any and all citizens at this part of the city.
Sasuke looked down from his fighting location.
"Are we doing this or what, Naruto?!"
"We are." A chilling voice erupted from Naruto as his Chakra expanded at a rapid pace.
Orange highlights also formed around the edges of his eyes and a massive manifestation of the nine-tailed fox itself appeared.
Taking advantage of the moment his opponent was taken off guard by Naruto's transformation, Sasuke merged his perfect Susanoo with Kurama.
Encasing it in a beautiful, bright purple armour.
As the deity liked being looked down, the duo stared at their opponents.
4 separate chakra arms then formed around the manifestation of Kurama, each encased in a portion of the impenetrable armour.
2 of the hands held perfectly crafted blades. Each seemingly containing enough power to be able to slash mountains itself.
The 2 blades seemed at the ready, prepared to slash down their opponents at a moment's notice.
The other 2 hands were raised into the air as the entire world itself bowed to the conceptual attacks forming in the palms of the hands.
Even while manipulating such monumental amounts of Chakra, Naruto didn't even have strain on his face.
The bald headed kryptonian had a frown on his face seeing the colossal being in front of him.
Sure…he was indestructible to anything but kryptonite. But something told him that tanking this attack head on was something he should not do.
"It seems like I still underestimated Lucas." Mathew Morningstar said, still being calm even though death was staring him in the face.
Currently, Kurama looked like a Deity, holding the entire world in its hands.
2 Massive Rasenshurikens imbued with the concepts of Yin and Ying formed. Each of them threatening to tear through the fabric of Space.
"How the hell could you have predicted this?" The Bald Kryptonian asked as he looked at the massive force of nature.
"If you had seen what he was capable of back in the clan, you wouldn't be this surprised." Mathew said.
"I will give you one last chance." A chilling voice emerged from the yellow-purple construct.
"Out of respect for being Lucas's family, leave. Never step foot in America again, for this is 'His' domain."
Mathew paused for a moment seemingly weighing his options.
Eventually, he spoke with a small smile on his face, "Then I shan't overstay my welcome. Tell Lucas that the clan Head greets him."
Right as he said that, he took out what seemed to be a small button and pressed it, causing what was assumed to be a wormhole to form right behind him.
He then did a dramatic bow and entered into the portal.
The Kryptonian himself looked back at Kurama and a crazed smile appeared on his face.
"Let's finish this next time."
He then entered the portal and the portal immediately closed.
"What now?" Sasuke asked as he saw Naruto wasn't breaking his most powerful Jutsu.
Naruto turned in a specific direction, where he saw red and blue lightning speeding around Starling City.
"Jobs not done."
