Chapter 155 - Logia Dark Fruit

After becoming a ruler of the sea, Kahn no longer focused on secondary wealth.

So, after defeating the Beasts Pirates, Kahn didn't send Sonia back to the first half of the Grand Line with the Kuja warriors. Instead, she stayed in the New World, guarding "Grandinie New World."

With Sonia's current strength, few in the New World can challenge her aside from the sea emperors, Marco and Charlotte Katakuri, and powerful individuals like Dracule Mihawk and Admiral Fujitora.

At night, Sonia is a force second only to the emperors of the sea.

Moreover, Kahn, the Pirate with a bounty of 4.555 billion berries, backs her. Even the Revolutionary Army wouldn't dare provoke the "Cross Family."

Sonia is responsible for the defence of "Grandinie New World," and she's more than capable.

As for Robin and Boa Hancock, they remained in Wano Country to help Kahn manage the territory.

Regarding "Grandinie Paradise" in the first half of the Grand Line, which is no longer protected by the Kuja warriors, Kahn sent three large ships to the region.

These ships carry a thousand clones.

In the first half of the Grand Line, the laser technology they possess is cutting-edge. Along with their ability to transform into 18 different weapons, their impressive physiques, and their lack of fear, these clones are nearly as powerful as supernovas, with bounties of over 100 million berries.

Two years ago, a single Pacifista could overpower a supernova, and even the Straw Hat Pirates needed their full strength to barely defeat one.

A cloned warrior is a nightmare for any pirate with a bounty under 100 million.

Even two clones would be troublesome for a supernova unless they possessed powerful Devil Fruit abilities.

If there are more than three clones, only supernovas with high reputations, like Cavendish, Ace, and the more powerful Worst Generation members, could handle them easily.

With a thousand of these clone warriors, such a force could easily dominate the world.

Three thousand of them, and only the most powerful individuals, reclusive monsters, the World Government, and other strong but discreet forces, could stand against them. In Paradise, this force would be nearly invincible.

With such power, "Grandinie Paradise" no longer requires Sonia's protection.

A small team of Kuja warriors and a few think tank members are enough to assist the young Margaret in guarding "Grantinie Paradise."

Though Margaret is young, her Logia Snow-Snow Fruit ability is nearly unbeatable in the first half of the Grand Line, where Haki users are rare.

Three thousand identical clones would immediately become world-shaking news the moment they appeared.

Before these clones, the overlords of North Blue, "Germa 66," used a similar replicating army to become one of the top 50 nations that could participate in the Reverie.

When Morgans inquired about the clones, he not only received Kahn's approval but also detailed information, which was published in the World Economy News Paper, alarming major forces.

With laser technology and weapon-transforming devices, could it be that the "Cross Family" has powerful scientists?

The World Government and Marines suspect that the "Cross Family" acquired MADS' research long ago and, with their immense wealth, created an even stronger force than "Germa 66."

Fortunately, the clones of the "Cross Family" aren't as powerful as the Pacifistas designed by Vegapunk.

After reading the information about the cloned and transformed humans, the World Government eagerly anticipated the arrival of Vega punk's Pacifistas. They decided to increase funding for research to ensure the Pacifistas would appear as soon as possible.

As for Vinsmoke, Judge of North Blue, upon seeing the news, he was shocked and furious but also filled with fear. He realized that it wasn't his missing son who had stolen his research all those years ago, but the Pirate Emperor of the New World, Kahn.

Fortunately, the theft had only been limited to his research. The mere thought of Kahn taking his life filled Judge with cold sweat. For many nights to come, Judge would wake up in terror from his nightmares.

As for seeking revenge on Kahn, Judge wouldn't dare even with a hundred lifetimes of courage.

From the information about the cloned and transformed soldiers, Judge could already tell that the scientists working for the "Cross Family" had merged his expertise with that of Queen's, creating a more advanced version of the replicant soldiers.

The judge made a frightening discovery. While it took him at least five years for his clone soldiers to reach the age of twenty, the cloned soldiers of the "Cross Family" had already reached full maturity in a much shorter time. Clearly, the scientists under Kahn were more advanced than him.

With Kahn being the richest man in the world, Judge knew it wouldn't be long before the number of cloned soldiers from the "Cross Family" far exceeded that of Germa 66—by several times or even dozens.

It wouldn't be long before the strength of the "Cross Family" rivalled that of the World Government, the Marines, and major powers like Alabasta, which boasts hundreds of thousands of permanent troops.

With such power and status, Kahn wasn't concerned about revealing the existence of his cloned soldiers. In fact, not only did he willingly expose them, but he did so deliberately, likely to intimidate those who might harbour dangerous ideas.

After dispatching 3,000 clones to guard "Grandinie Paradise," Kahn sent another 1,000 to West Blue to support Capone Bege.

This force would solidify Bege's position as the overlord of West Blue. Given his current situation, Bege would be foolish to abandon his years of hard-earned influence in West Blue and attempt to challenge the Grand Line's road to the strong.

After all, at the end of that road lies a throne that none can sit upon. Below that throne are three Pirate Emperors—one of whom is Bege's own boss, Kahn. Even if Bege reached the end, he'd only be on equal footing with his boss unless he intended to rebel, which would be a perilous move.

With 4,000 clones guarding both the first half of the Grand Line and the islands of West Blue, Kahn focused solely on New World affairs, leaving those areas under the watchful eyes of his forces.

Then, in February, a rumour began to spread across the New World and even through the underworld of the entire globe. This gossip stirred unrest in the Whitebeard Pirates, particularly among a certain sixth-division member.

Just as someone had once offered 10 billion berries for the Paramecia Op-Op Fruit, now someone anonymously offered 10 billion berries for the Logia Dark-Dark Fruit in the underworld.

Not only that, but the person behind the offer also spread an image of the Dark-Dark Fruit.

This set off a frenzy in the underworld, with bounty hunters, human traffickers, and even pirates all scrambling to find the Logia Dark-Dark Fruit.

After all, 10 billion berries—such a sum could make anyone's wildest dreams come true!
