Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

"Dad, what did I do?" Aurora asked, as her father had never talked to her in such a way.

"I just received a call from the Turners that they don't want to go ahead with the engagement between you and Edward," he said.

"Ooh. It's okay. I am also sure that you have never wanted your daughter to get married to a cheating bastard."

"What the hell are you talking about? What happened?" the man asked as his eyes shown a bit of concern but Aurora failed to see the mockery hidden deep in his eys

"I got Edward and Luciana having sex in my apartment. My step-sister with my fiancé. What do you think I am feeling? If only you never cheated on Mom and married that woman after Mom died. If only you loved us enough to stand up for us and make Luciana know her place in this family instead of giving her everything," she said angrily but the concern in her father's eyes vanished and was replaced by fury.

"Is this the way you are talking to your dad?" her father asked angrily as he glared at her wishing that he had something in his hand to knock her with.

"How do you expect me to talk to you? You sent both Arielle and I to boarding school and, immediately after I graduated, you made plans to marry me off. When will I ever get a break? When will my sister and I enjoy what our mom left behind for us?" she asked as she started to shed tears.

"Can you shut up for once and don't remind me of your dead mother? But at least Luciana will still be getting married into that family. Ooh, from today, your apartment belongs to Luciana," he said with a grin on his face as he knew that the Turners were still in his hands.

Looking at his father smiling, Aurora felt as if she had been pierced in her heart. Even today, when she was telling her father about her misfortunes, she hoped that he would be at her side for once after her mother's death. Shaking her head, she knew there was no way he was going to change his opinion. Now even the apartment which she was given as a workers' apartment by the company had been taken away. She smiled bitterly since there were no tears left in her eyes.

"I even wonder whether Arielle and I are your daughters. You treat pigs even better than the way you treat us. One day, you will pay for the pain you've caused us," she said sadly as she slowly got from her bed walking towards the door to lock it.

She then walked back and sat on the edge of her bed as she recalled all the sufferings they had endured since their mother passed away.

Her eyes fell on the nightstand, and she stared at it for a while.

The picture on the nightstand was enough for her to start crying.

She was interrupted by a phone call, making her frown a little bit, but at the same time, she was glad as it diverted her attention from what she was thinking. She took her phone, looked at the number calling, and realized that her little sister was the one who was calling. Picking up the call, she wondered what had happened.

"Arielle," she said softly and calmly, as she did not want her sister to realize that she had been crying a few minutes ago.

"Sister, when will our suffering ever end?" the small voice came from the other end while crying.

Hearing the cries was enough for Aurora's heart to ache. She could endure everything that came her way, but she would never let her sister suffer as she did. That's why she always worked hard on getting her father's affection back.

"What's wrong? What happened? Why are you talking that way?" she asked as she panicked.

"The principal has just told me that my fees haven't been paid. I have called Dad and he claims that he doesn't have money."

Aurora sighed as she heard that.

"How much is the school fees balance?" she asked as she hoped that she would be able to sort out her sister's problems at least.

"Nothing has been paid. I was wondering whether you can come here so that I can give you some of my savings so that you can deposit and pay."

"Do you still want to study in that school?" Aurora asked as she stared at the safe that was at the far end of her room.

"Even though I don't want to, we both know that we can't afford some good and exclusive schools."

"Just trust me and pack your things and fill out transfer forms. I am coming to get you soon," immediately she said that she hung up to avoid wasting time.

Seeing that there was nothing worth packing apart from her school certificates, she took her handbag kept important documents and brown envelopes that were in the safe in it before walking out.

"Where the hell do you think you are going?"

"Just let her be and go. Who knows, maybe she is going to sell her body to pay her little sister's fees."

Looking at the pair of mother and daughter, she felt nauseous and happy that at least she had gotten the courage to leave the place.

"Where do you think you are going? Didn't I tell you that you should stay in your room? Or do you just want to destroy your sister's happiness?'

She raised her eyebrows at her father," I can't see Arielle here or who are you calling my sister?"

"Luciana, of course, or who else is your sister here?"

"Let me remind you something, Dad, my mom only gave birth to Arielle and I, so whichever sister you are talking about, I don't know."

"How dare you!"

"I am leaving. This is the last day you will ever see me in this house," she said with no expression on her face, making the people's presence doubt whether she was saying the truth or not.

This was the first time they had seen that kind of expression on her face, and they wondered whether she was the Aurora they had known for the past few years.

"Where do you think you are going? What about that little brat?" her father asked.

"You don't need to worry about that since I am dropping off to take her away from that school. After all, you have failed to perform your duty as a father to her. I know that you haven't paid her fees and still claim that you don't have money. How can a millionaire like you lack money to pay her daughter's money? How shameless can you be?"

"And do you think that you will survive without Dad's help?" Luciana asked.

"Do you think that we are so helpless that we can't survive without you people? Alright, after five years, both Arielle and I will come back here to shock you all. Bye," she said as she walked out of the house.
