Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Blair had wanted to go back to the house and sleep, but Andrew ushered her to the garden where round metal pergolas dripping with flowers framed the pebble walkways. The longer they walked through the garden the more Blair felt like she was spiraling out of control of her own body. "Blair," Andrew called, but his voice sounded like he was talking through something. Blair grabbed his arm, putting her other hand on her forehead, feeling as if she was going to fain. "Blair," he called. She looked at him, but it was as if she was looking through a picture or watching tv. "Blair, are you alright?" Andrew asked. "She's fine," Kathrine said walking out from a corner. "What's happening to her?" Andrew asked. "She's ready," Kathrine said as Blair felt her body stand tall. "Ready for what?" Andrew asked. "To be your Luna," Kathrine told him. "Mom, what did you do?" Andrew asked in a hushed tone. "Your father gave you a gift with his life, use it," Kathrine spat.

Blair felt her arm wrap around Andrew's, but she hadn't moved, "Isn't it time for your speech, Darling," Blair's distorted voice rang out. Blair couldn't believe what she was hearing. It sounded like her but raspier, and she would never call someone, least of all Andrew, darling. Andrew gapped at her, "She's right alpha, it's time for your speech," Kathrine agreed smoothly and smiled. Andrew looked back at his mother, still in shock, "Mom," he began. Blair or whoever was controlling her pulled him to her and kissed Andrew. Her fingers in his hair, Andrew gripped her hips and melted into her kiss. Andrew felt passion behind her kiss and thoughts of if this was right or not disappeared. "Come on," Blair's distorted voice murmured against his lips. Andrew looked back at his mother who smiled a sly smile and winked at him. Andrew and Blair headed to a large ornate redwood gazebo, where Andrew made a speech to the town about the coming summer and how proud he was to be the alpha of a hard-working pack. Eventually letting everyone know that Blair had agreed to be their packs Luna, to which many pack members stared in shock, but no one more that Craig. He tried to play along, so no one would suspect him, but he knew something was wrong. A few people began cheering and clapping while others still in shock clapped very concerned for the switch from packs. Inside Blair screamed for someone to stop this, but no one could hear her. She clawed at the blackness she seemed stuck in. They walked through the crowed shaking hands and accepting congratulations from some excited pack members. Others who were less excited began cleaning up, it was nearly eleven and business needed to resume as normal the next day.

Blair and Andrew reached the end of the crowed and came face to face with Ben and Jen, "Ben, how wonderful for you to make it to our summer solstice," Andrew said in shock. Blair couldn't help but notice the confidence he had in his voice as he gripped her hand. "Stealing another pack's Luna is a criminal offense," Ben accused. Andrew stiffened, "Showing up at another pack throwing around accusations, is a plan to start a war," Andrew shot back. Ben looked at Blair, he could see something was wrong, her eyes weren't the normal blue-green. They seemed to be darkening, "Where are our manners," Jen spoke up smiling. "Blair called us, and we thought since you were having your celebrations, we would come and visit. Potentially set up some alliances, since you'll be like family," she smoothed over, her charm and sweet tone was something most people couldn't go against. Andrew smiled back clearly enjoying Jen's conversation over Ben's direct accusations, "I don't think that's what your Alpha had in mind," Andrew said nicely to Jen, but still eyeing Ben. "I didn't bring the pack with me, in fact all I brought was my luna. Clearly not meaning to start a war," Ben explained curtly. "Of course," Andrew smiled, still skeptical. "Why don't you follow us back to our house. We can get some sleep and talk over breakfast," Andrew suggested. "BEN!" Blain screamed inside of herself. "PLEASE HELP ME," she cried as loud as she could. "Great Idea," Jen beamed. Ben nodded not taking his eyes off his sister, "Great, Blair and I usually walk, it's not far," Andrew said stepping past them. Ben was angry that Andrew acted as if he and Blair were a couple, everything in him was telling him something was wrong with his sister, his twin. This person before him was an imposter. Before they left the dark square, a warm summer breeze tingled Blair's skin and a familiar scent hit her. Crumpled on the floor of the blackness, she lifted her head, "James," she gasped. She turned seeing James' green eyes glowing amidst the trees to the right. Blair fought as hard as she could to reach for her mate, she slammed and slammed against the darkness willing and forcing her right hand to reach for him. Jen squeezed Ben's hand, he looked at her and she nodded towards Blair. Ben watched as his sister reached for her mate, but was quickly stopped, "Are you alright, Blair?" Andrew asked soothingly. She looked back at him, and smiled "Of course, darling," she replied with a smile, as they continued to the house.

Andrew, still hand in hand with Blair lead Ben and Jen to a spare room before taking Blair to her room, closer, up the hall to his. Ben watched out the crack of the door as Andrew kissed Blair and she went into her room. Ben shut the door, "There's something wrong here," Ben told her. "She's still in there, but it's not her," Jen agreed turning down the bed. They had planned to let James in after an hour, when they were sure Andrew would be asleep. James was hiding in the backyard garden when he saw an orange glow behind a bush. He crept closer and saw Craig smoking hiding in a bush watching the house, a low growl escaped him. "You think you're just gonna walk in there and what? Take her back? " Craig asked, not taking his eyes off the house. "What's it to you?" James growled low. "I've been watching out for her since he brought her here," Craig answered finally looking at him. "You mean helping them," James stated. "Given the history, I'll let it go. When Kaspar destroyed the demon, it left me too," Craig explained. "Then why did you run?" James asked, still angry. "Your pack wasn't asking questions," Craig answered.

James noticed movement in the window, a woman's shadow. "She'll be fine, if she takes that ring off like I told her," Craig whispered looking back at the window. "What ring?" James asked. "Kathrine had a hex put on a amethyst ring and had Andrew give it to Blair. It's a binding hex, from what I gathered from the witch, it's to bind Blair inside herself," Craig replied. James looked back at him, "The healer she visited, isn't a healer as we know them. She's a witch this pack is hiding, in return she does whatever Kathrine bids," Craig continued. "She knows Blair is pregnant," James blurted out. Craig's head snapped over at him, his face paled, "She's what?" Craig asked in shock. "Well, she could be," James clarified. Craig put his cigarette out, "You have to get her out of here now," Craig informed him. "What's going on?" James asked concerned about the sudden change in Craig. Craig moved from his crouched position, "Craig," James whispered. "They plan on making her Luna of this pack, if he marks her your pup dies," Craig snapped. "I'm aware of that," James snapped back. "And if she's having twins, they're gonna use them to bring Simone back," Craig told him. James' face paled, "Or worse, her mother," Craig whispered looking at James. James pulled his phone out and texted Ben, to let him in on the new information.
