Tang Li Na felt a surge of anger as she mentioned her father. Even though she was not the original Tang Li Na, she still felt a resentment towards the elder Tang.
"Don't think about him so much." Zhuo Li interrupted her thoughts as he added some apples to a plate and handed them to her.
"Oh my apologies. I totally spoiled the mood. " She said as she plastered a smile.
"Not at all. Anyway, I came here to ask you if you want to sneak out today. "
"But we can just go, there is no need to sneak out." She said as she tilted her head in confusion.
"Well actually my mother strictly told me to stay put in the hospital otherwise I would be grounded for a year. The body guards outside my room are actually hers. She forbade mine from entering the hospital." He said as he slightly pouted his lips.
Seeing this, Tang Li Na chuckled." She seems not to care about you being the president of a conglomerate."
"She would definitely whoop my ass when given a chance for sure." He smiled. "So, what do you say?"
"Yeah sure. Where will we go?"
"Just strolling in the markets or something. I just want to get out of this stuffy place."
"But what if the person who shot you tries to do so again?"
"Don't worry, my men will take care of us."
"Okay, we will go." She smiled.
After talking for a while, Zhuo Li left as he had some business to take care of. Lying lazily on the bed, Tang Li Na tried to organize her thoughts of how fast her life had changed.
Being transmigrated into an unfamiliar world was so not on her year bingo card. She was happy that her miserable life had ended but what disturbed her was that she couldn't clearly remember the contents of the novel even though she had read it over and over again.
What she also found worrisome was where the original Tang Li Na had disappeared to.
As she was lost in thoughts, a young man entered the room with flowers in his hands. He wore a clean cut suit and his whole look screamed luxury.
Feeling someone's presence, Tang Li Na turned and looked at the man. A cold glint lit in her eyes as she recognized the man, her cold and ruthless fiance.
He walked forward and placed the flowers on the bedside table.
"Your favorite." He nonchalantly said as he took a seat on the couch in the room.
"You sure took your time waking up." He said shamelessly as he removed a cigarette from his pocket and lit it.
"Put it out." Tang Li Na said as she stood from the bed and took the flowers. "Funny how my fiance of 2 years still does not know what my favorite flowers are." She smirked as she threw the flowers in the bin.
"Hey!" He yelled as he stood up. "You should be grateful that I brought you flowers. "
Tang Li Na rolled her eyes and snorted. "Let's break up."
Guo Heng looked at her in disbelief and then chuckled. He walked closer to her, taking slow steps. There was a crazy look in his eyes that made Tang Li Na uncomfortable.
She took a step back every time he took a step forward. She knew he was crazy and could not take the risk of enraging him further.
"You really think that you can break up with me?" He laughed sinisterly as he traced his calloused finger on her skin.
"You can never run from me. I still have that video so don't you dare to cross me." He added as he swiftly grabbed her neck and pressed on it.
"Help! Hel-" He increased the pressure on her neck, drowning her cries for help.
"Funny how you are the only one that knows my true colors.Your poor old man thinks I'm the perfect match for you but I just want to torture you." He laughed.
As her consciousness slipped further from reality the doors opened and Zhuo Li stepped in with a bag in his hands.
"Hey Li Na, where are your bodyg-" His words were stuck on his throat once he saw the scene unfolding in front of him.
He dropped the bag and immediately rushed to her side, violently pushing Guo Heng to the side. Zhuo Li held her weak body in his arms as he pressed a button on his watch and several men rushed in to the room.
"Capture him." He said as he stroke the back of Tang Li Na who coughed violently from the choking.
The bodyguards held Guo Heng by both arms as he struggled violently to break free.
"Who are you people ? Let me go." He screamed as he glared daggers at Zhuo Li.
"Take him to my room." He ordered and the bodyguards complied.
Once Tang Li Na calmed down, he helped her sit on the bed and gave her some water to drink. He also called some doctors to conduct a quick check up.
"Get some sleep." Zhuo Li said as he tucked her in bed.
After ensuring that she was asleep, he ordered a nurse and one of his bodyguards to stay in the room , for safety.
"Call her grandfather or cousin." He instructed another nurse as he walked to his room where Guo Heng was still held by his body guards.
Zhuo Li stretched out his arms and a man,his secretary, handed him a pair of leather gloves.
He took a deep breath and smiled at Guo Heng as he wore the gloves.A sinister look loomed over his features that made Guo Heng tremble in fear.
"It's been so long."Zhuo Li smirked as he twirled a butterfly knife.
