Chapter 10 - WHAT IS SHE:II

Florah hurriedly used the mop and brooms in the room to sweep and dust, picking up an old bucket. She went to find a maid " Excuse me, can you help me and direct me, where I can get water" she asked a brunette woman in a maids uniform, who pointed to an area behind the kitchen.

Politely bowing to the maid, she went in the direction the maid had pointed at. Finding a hole with water in it she fetched it and hurried back to clean the room.

After a couple of minutes, she was done cleaning and headed for the kitchen. Nervously peeking inside, she saw four maids busy with the head maid supervising them. Taking deep breaths and she entered the kitchen.

"After you are done, playing hide and go seek, you can come and start peeling the potatoes over there" the head maid said sarcastically motioning to the pile of Irish potatoes.

Florah's face flashed with embarrassment when she realized the woman had seen her. Quietly moving to the potatoes, she grabbed a knife nearby, and started peeling them. The brunette maid from before came and sat near her and also started peeling.

'Dear Lord, l pray i don't cut myself' she prayed while carefully peeling. Sneaking a glance at the other maid who was peeling with speed and experience, she started copying her and her actions became faster.

"Marquess Rashford Dalton and his son Jeremiah Dalton" The butler announced pushing the study room door open.

Two vampires entered, the Marquess Dalton stood with his figure firm and proud with his hier, Jeremiah following behind with a grim look.

"Your Majesty" the two men greeted slightly bowing.

"Marquess Dalton... Jeremiah" Gavriel greeted back his eyes lingering alittle longer on the young Dalton.

The king sat lazily in his chair as he looked at the two men before him with a blank look.

"The vampires in your province seem to be causing trouble ..Rashford" Gavriel bluntly said.

"I believe you know what is the cause" Rashford said.

Softly chuckling, Gavriel replied "The Bladens, tck tck ... are they still upset about what happened last year, I personally think we should let the dead rest" the king said righteously.

Rashford looked at the young king and said "well you killed there daughter.... I am sure you knew this going to happen eventually".

"I don't understand why you people keep blaming me, she wanted my attention and I gave it to her" Gavriel mused.

"What would you have done, Jeremiah" Gavriel asked.

"Lock her away for sometime, strip the Bladens of some power so that they can learn to tame their children" the future Marquess Jeremiah stated.

Chuckling Gavriel asked "But what would be the guarantee that she wouldn't do it again, and did you know that putting restrictions on vampires especially purebloods would be equal to taking out there fangs".

"The Bladens didn't need any excuse to plot and now you gave them a strong one to do so" Rashford said while sipping on the wine a maid had brought in.

"Well you do plant cheese to lure out the mouse," Gavriel added playfully.

"They hanged four humans after draining them of there blood" Jeremiah referred to the vampires' doings.

"Did you find them" the king asked.

"Yes, There fangs were pulled out, after them spewing tales about how it was the 'vampire way' to do what they did.. Those vampires weren't brazen enough to do that on there own, someone else must have been behind it".Jeremiah drawled

" The victim's families were also compensated Your Majesty" he added.

"Nicely executed, I look forward to working with you" Gavriel smiled referring toJeremiah.

"Are you staying for lunch" Gavriel smiled lightly.

"No, we better get going, thank you for the invite Your Majesty" Marquess Rashford said before the two vampires stood up to leave as they were done with there report.

"Look out for any unusual activities, it might be the witches, and Jeremiah after the ball, there will be an invite with your name on it be sure to honor it" the king said with a sinister smirk adorning his well defined face.

The two men bowed and exited the study.

After Florah had left the room, little did she know that a certain vampire had gone back to 'inspect' it.

Matthew walked into the room, looking around the room 'hmm' he hummed at the human's decent work of tidying up.

She had mopped the floors, got rid of the cobwebs and neatly arranged it too.

He glanced at the box of her belongings, walking towards it, he placed his hands at it's sides and closed his eyes.

The things in the box lightly shook before going back to how they were. Opening his eyes that glowed a bright red, he frowned and smirked.

"She either is clever or I am just obsessed" The butler muttered ever so softly.

Closing the door softly, Matthew dashed through the hallway leaving it empty like he was never there.

Watching the departing carriage from his study's floor to ceiling window, the king heard 'Knock' 'Knock' before the door opened to reveal a distinguished butler carrying a tray with a kettle and a tea cup.

Atleast that was how he appeared to others but not to the king, he bowed and asked "Was the meeting fruitful, my leige".

Placing the tray on the table, he heard the king say "Jeremiah...an interesting boy, don't you think" a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes. "He didn't seem to agree with what his father did....but also didn't seem to oppose it".

"Will you kill him, sire or can l" the dutiful Butler inquired.

"Haha" Chuckling Gavriel said "And yet everyone thinks am the lunatic... No let the boy be, he might be of use".

Matthew hesitated before saying "Sire, there is new maid, she doesn't feel like a human, vampire, witch nor a werewolf.. she feels abnormal as if she is not a human and yet seems human".

"And here i hoped you were going to narrate how much in love you are, is she still alive?". Gavriel teased as he drank the blend of blood and wine his Butler had served him.
