CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY
ROXANNE'S POV
I alighted from my car with a fast-paced heart. I had no idea how things were going to be after giving out the money to Dera.
She had reluctantly gotten though with the pretense; coz it could never be something real, that she had not been expecting it that it came as a genuine surprise.
It had been late at night when I and Tarella had taken the money to her doorstep, waited for her to count some for confirmation; even though it nearly took four hours for her to finish, and headed back out in the deserted street.
Tarella had found her way home without offering to drop by at her ex-husband's home. The love for her daughter did not even draw her backwards to the house nor our new found friendship.
I shrugged tiredly it wasn't anyone's fault. Maybe she had been very tired fro everything. Maybe the sex she had with the guy had taken a toll on her.
