CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN
AUTHOR'S POV
Selena's sullen face expanded into a smile as Mary hugged her and cried in her arms. It was a smile of relief, for she, better than anyone else knew how dangerous the truth would have been if Dera had not put her talent for twisting the truth, into practice. She couldn't risk spilling the truth, for the truth could land her in jail or even force Mary to commit a criminal offense; an offense she would have committed without remorse.
The truth was a secret she would've wished to take to her grave, but unfortunately, Dera might not be in the same grave as she; Dera could never be trusted for long. But Selena had forced herself to believe that Dera would summon her angelic side to assist in her predicament and that nothing would go wrong, at least not at present.
