"I no longer know what to do. I have created this mess and now I am so deep in this that it is scary. Oh, lord! Save me!" ~ Dr. Sang Tian

What did you say to my Grandpa?
What did you two talk about?
What did he ask you? Though it looks like he is convinced by whatever you said, how did you manage to make him so convinced?
I don't know why I keep messaging you. You don't even reply!
I am just curious. Grandpa said that he really likes you.
These were the messages that Sang Tian had sent Fang Haoran over the span of 5 days. One message for each day. All of those asking him to reveal to her the details of what happened in that one hour that she was away with Aunt Shao and had to leave Fang Haoran with her grandfather.
Before going to meet her grandfather, Sang Tian had thought of all the possible scenarios that could happen. She had thought of the best, she had thought of the worst but none of those scenarios involved her grandfather starting to like Fang Haoran so much that Grandfather Sang now held the opinion that Fang Haoran was the perfect man for Sang Tian, that he would be a great husband to her.
Calling it a shock would be an understatement, Sang Tian had never thought that her grandfather would start thinking so highly of Fang Haoran. Grandfather Sang was not someone you could impress easily. He takes time to observe the other person before making an opinion about them.
Never had her grandfather liked and approved of a person in just one meeting. Also, this was no random man. Sang Tian, her grandfather's precious granddaughter had brought home not any random guy but her "boyfriend".
All her life her grandfather had viewed her romantic partners as literally nothing. Her grandfather, her father, and her brother also believed that no man on this planet was worthy enough of their baby girl.
That emotion applied to Zhang Ri Shan as well. The only thing working in his favor was the fact that he was the grandson of Grandfather Sang's best friend and comrade to whom he had made a promise.
None of those boys and men that she ever dated were good enough for her grandfather to even look at them. And then there comes Fang Haoran, her fake boyfriend whom she had introduced to her family just to escape an unwanted marriage.
Suddenly and somehow, that guy became worthy of her in her grandfather's eyes. That too only after one meeting, one 53 minutes long conversation that Sang Tian has absolutely no idea of. How was that possible?
She was extremely curious to know about what had happened in those minutes that she had not been there. Not being entirely aware of the whole situation also irked her a little bit. It annoyed her that something that concerned her was being kept away from her.
Sang Tian did ask her grandfather but he was pretty evasive and cryptic about it. Whenever she would ask him, try to coax the information out of him, he would just smile and say pretty much the same thing every time.
"That gentleman is brilliant! You made a good choice and I am glad that you told me about him instead of agreeing to and going along with the pact that I made with Zhang. Haoran adores you, he truly loves you. And it shows."
That's what he would always say, in one way or the other, using different words and new phrases to express the same damn thing! It was as if Fang Haoran had put her grandfather under some magical spell.
She wasn't getting any answers from her grandfather so she continued to message Fang Haoran asking him the same questions. She did not call because it seemed too personal that's why she settled on sending him one message a day hoping, desperately hoping that he would reply and give him something that would help her understand the situation better.
But it's been over 5 days since that Sunday and Sang Tian was just as clueless as ever about this fake relationship that was too real in her grandfather's eyes.
This matter was not something that should be taken lightly. For the first time, someone managed to impress her grandfather so much. Fang Haoran was her first "boyfriend" who received the seal of approval from Grandfather Sang.
Sang Tian was worried that it would cause her family, her grandfather especially would be much more disappointed when it would be revealed that there is nothing between her and Fang Haoran.
They will never be able to trust her again and rightly so. "Aarrgghhh!!" clutching at her hair, Sang Tian banged her head against the table. She was mad at herself for making so many bad choices in such a short time. It was as if she was setting some kind of record!
Roughly removing the charging cable, Sang Tian grabbed her cell phone and opened the messaging application. Biting her lower lip, Sang Tian typed in another message to Fang Haoran -
I am really sorry for all the inconvenience and for disturbing you again.
Eagerly waiting for a response from your side.
After sending the message, Sang Tian pushed her cell phone aside and tried her best to concentrate on the patient's file at hand. Sang Tian closed her eyes and took deep breaths to calm herself.
This case needed her undivided attention and complete focus. Later this month, in about 13 days, she was going to be a part of an extremely complicated and delicate surgery.
Separation of 11 months old omphalopagus conjoined twins.
A team of over 30 surgeons and specialists was created to separate the two babies that were joined to each other at the front. The two baby girls were joined to each other from their chest to their belly button.
It was going to be a complicated surgery and the difficulty of it was causing her enough panic. Sang Tian was chosen to assist with that surgery and she was absolutely terrified about it. The fact that it involved babies was terrifying enough, on top of that she had to be there in the operation theatre and assist the other surgeons as they would operate on the girls.
A tiny mistake could result in major complications that she could not afford. Sang Tian did her best to chase Fang Haoran's thoughts away from her mind and focus on preparing for the upcoming surgery.
Everybody else could wait but these two beautiful girls needed her attention at this moment.

Gu Nan Zhou was in the cafeteria of the MedCARE Hospital and Medical University having his lunch while talking on the phone with his, but not exactly his grandfather.
"For the last time, I am telling you that I am not going to act as a spy for you, grandfather." Gu Nan Zhou stuffed a spoonful of yogurt in his mouth and continued speaking, "I am a resident here, okay. I don't have enough time to have lunch forget stalking a senior of mine just because my brother is interested in her."
"Eh, this brat!" scolded the old man, "I am not asking you to stalk anybody, I just want you to observe her and let me know what kind of a girl she is."
"That is exactly what stalking is, grandfather." commented Gu Nan Zhou as he ate the piece of toast in one bite. He only had 10 more minutes before going back to work and this old man was not letting him eat in peace.
"If that annoying grandson of mine had answered my questions about his girlfriend, I would not have asked you about it. That stupid Haoran is still able to raise my blood pressure even though he is currently on the other side of the world!" exclaimed Grandfather Fang letting out an angry huff of breath.
Gu Nan Zhou rolled his eyes as he continued eating his lunch while his grandfather continued to grumble about his step-brother, his elder brother Fang Haoran.
For years Grandfather Fang had been pestering Fang Haoran to get married but the latter always managed to evade the topic and avoid the prospect of marriage. He would go on blind dates only to please Grandfather Fang but all the dates would end up with him refusing to start a relationship.
It wasn't until a few weeks ago when Grandfather Fang came to know about his brother's girlfriend. A woman named Sang Tian worked in the same hospital as him and was his senior by a year.
Grandfather only knew basic details about Sang Tian despite his information channels being blocked by Fang Haoran. When he got to know that Gu Nan Zhou works in the same hospital as Sang Tian, he started hounding Gu Nan Zhou for more information.
The first-year general surgery resident obviously denied the request and had been dodging Grandfather Fang's queries from the last week. He was not going to be a part of any of this nonsense and risk angering the fire dragon that his elder brother was.
That man was scary and Gu Nan Zhou was not going to ruffle the scales of a fire breathing dragon. He loved his life and there was no chance he would endanger it for anything and anybody.
"I need to go, grandfather. My shift starts in 2 minutes. Okay bye!" Gu Nan Zhou hurriedly ended the call not paying heed to Grandfather Fang's words. He put his cell phone in his coat pocket and walked out of the cafeteria.
He started walking faster on receiving the message from his attending. He was summoned to the observation room to watch and learn from a surgery that was being performed. In his haste, Gu Nan Zhou knocked into someone causing the other person, a woman to fall down on the floor.
"I am sorry!" he exclaimed and bent down to help the woman he had collided with. he helped her gather the documents that she was carrying and arranged them the best that he could before handing the papers to the woman.
As he turned his head to look at the woman he found himself face to face with the woman his grandfather had been obsessing about, the woman who was in a serious relationship with his brother, Fang Haoran. The woman named Sang Tian.
