Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: The Conjecture of the Glowing Spider Web

Here's a revised version of the chapter, with a more natural flow, simplified language, and additional small details for better comprehension:

Besides the numbers representing different universes, there was another number that stood out - Earth-199999!

"Are these universe designations for different Spider-Man realities?" Peter realized with a jolt, "So the multiverse really exists!"

"Could this glowing web on my body be a collection of multi-dimensional singularities, recording countless parallel universes across the multiverse?"

"And through these singularities, I can transfer my consciousness between two different parallel worlds and possess the 'me' of that reality."

"Then in the future, could I physically travel through the singularity and meet myself from other parallel universes in person?"

Peter's mind raced with countless thoughts, imagining the intriguing scene of him conversing with the Noir Spider-Man and the Amazing Spider-Man someday.

His thinking continued to diverge further as he tried to grasp the concept of the multiverse.

The multiverse could be imagined as an infinitely tall building, each floor a parallel reality. However, due to the different choices made by the inhabitants of every parallel universe in how they lived and decorated, every level appeared uniquely furnished.

The residents on the first floor preferred a Western pastoral style, so their floor had a rustic decor with wooden furniture and floral patterns.

The second floor residents favored a Western classical aesthetic, giving their level a medieval castle look with stone walls and tapestries.

The third floor tenants wanted a Chinese style, adorning their space with traditional Eastern designs like intricate wooden carvings and silk paintings.

The thirteenth floor residents had divided their level into tiny "luxury" compartments of just 5 square meters each to maximize rental income.

On some floors, the residents may have turned into zombies, transforming their home into a zombie den with decaying walls and scattered bones.

Certain levels could have been bought by alien entities, making those floors look like strange, otherworldly habitats.

Multiverse, infinite worlds, endless possibilities!

And the glowing spider web in his mind was the elevator connecting these different floors – these different realities.

Those numbers were the "floor numbers" in the elevator controls that allowed travel between universes.

By mastering the elevator and knowing the floor number, one could travel to the corresponding reality.

Most residents were unaware or unable to use this elevator, but Peter was one of the few conscious of its existence.

Peter didn't think he was the only special one in such a vast multiverse. Perhaps he was a bit lucky and clever, but he didn't consider himself the luckiest or smartest. Wasn't Iron Man much smarter than him?

After getting over the initial surprise of the multiverse's multiple realities, Peter reined in his wandering thoughts. He was a little curious about what he could gain from the Amazing Spider-Man this time. Spider-sense? It didn't seem so. Strength, speed, agility? Also didn't appear to be the case.

No gains at all?

Peter pondered for a moment, perhaps because this gain, like Noir Spider-Man's "deductive reasoning, insight, and stealth" abilities, was an enhancement in "software" rather than an improvement in "hardware." That wasn't bad either.

In fact, in terms of hardware – his physical abilities – Peter was already quite impressive. He could catch a car kicked by Ant-Man with his bare hands! Considering the kinetic energy contained in a 7-8 ton bus being struck, you'd understand how much force that took. But he could catch it barehanded with ease.

And he felt this was still far from the ultimate level of his strength. Peter was quite satisfied with this level of power. If it increased further, he would have to be even more cautious in daily life, which he wouldn't like very much.

After sorting everything out, Peter checked the time – it was already 7 AM. Although he had been busy all night, his body was full of energy. While his consciousness merged with the Amazing Spider-Man in the Earth-120703 universe, his own body here was actually still dormant and resting.

Theoretically, his consciousness could remain awake all the time – he only needed to enter another universe when his body here felt tired. But that was just a theory. Because if this continued, even if the body could handle it, the mind probably could not.

And this cross-dimensional travel also made him realize an issue: when he entered other worlds and merged with other Spider-Men, he would inevitably receive some of their past experiences and be affected by them to an extent. If he didn't use this ability sparingly, he might go insane from the mental strain.

"Why don't I get up early and make breakfast for Aunt May?" Peter turned over and sat up, thinking of her. He thought of Aunt May in the two worlds he had experienced, both childless and widowed in old age, quite miserable. Well, his Aunt May didn't even have a boyfriend. Also quite pitiful.

Peter got up from the bed, got dressed, washed up, and then came to the kitchen. It was called breakfast, but it was actually quite simple – just some slices of bread from the fridge, two cups of heated milk, and two fried eggs made on the stove.

Within a few minutes, a steaming hot breakfast was ready on the table. As Peter set the plates down, Aunt May walked in freshly washed up. She was startled for a moment when she saw Peter busily working in an apron.

"Hey, what's the occasion?" she teased with a smile.

"Hey, is that any way to talk to your nephew who made you breakfast?" Peter complained light-heartedly as he spread butter on the toast. "Shouldn't you say something like, 'Wow, my handsome young man was so thoughtful today'?"

"You do look quite handsome today!" Aunt May gave Peter an admiring look, walked over and kissed him on the cheek. "Hehe, our Peter has grown up and is making me breakfast. It's wonderful!"

Peter blushed a little, his earlier self having been too consumed with his own heroic exploits to give Aunt May more care and attention after gaining his powers. Aunt May had taken care of him all these years, she was his true hero.

Aunt May picked up a slice of toast, spread some butter on it, topped it with eggs and lettuce, and ate quickly with obvious relish.

"Aunt May, are you busy today?" Peter was a bit puzzled. This didn't seem like her usual calm and unhurried self, except when he overslept and was almost late for school – then she wished she could chase him out the door with a whip to get him to class on time.

Aunt May ate heartily. When she heard this, she mumbled through a mouthful: "Today...charity...cross-country trip."

"Can you swallow before speaking," Peter reminded her helplessly with a smile.

Gulp. After Aunt May swallowed what was in her mouth, she quickly said: "Today the Public Assistance Center is holding a special charity event that combines sports and charity fundraising. The athletic events include whitewater speedboating, off-road four-wheeling, bungee jumping, and more. It's so exciting!"

Peter quipped with a grin: "The sponsor isn't Red Bull, is it? Those events sound intense!"
