Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Observing Spider Threads

Ned felt really bad for not being able to invite Peter to whatever event he had in mind. So, he just couldn't give up and kept repeatedly "pestering" Peter about it.

—First Period, Math Class

Peter was pretending to pay attention to the lecture, but he was actually thinking about what he could propose to discuss a potential partnership with Mr. Stark.

At that moment, Ned quietly came over: "Have you met Tony Stark yet?"

"Of course, otherwise who would I talk to about a partnership?" Peter gave him a puzzled look.

—Second Period, English Class

Peter was still pretending to listen attentively, but in reality, he was thinking about how to find the lizard monster that was causing trouble all over the city when he went out as Spider-Man again at night.

At this point, Ned quietly poked him on the back again: "When you complete a mission, does Mr. Stark say to you something like: 'Oh Peter, you did a great job. Here's a gold coin as your reward?'"

Peter: "Huh? Do you want to listen to the nonsense you're saying?"

—Third Period, History Class

The teacher was standing at the podium, teaching the students, while Peter was thinking about how to build Parker Industries.

Well, this guy has been zoning out since he got to school in the morning and hasn't stopped.

But I can't blame him, these courses are just too boring.

He had read through the material a few times and learned all the contents, gaining an even deeper understanding by making connections.

The teacher was teaching what he already knew, so how could he stay focused?

Just when Peter was lost in thought, Ned's head leaned over again.

Peter looked at this overly curious guy speechlessly. He absolutely cannot let this guy know that he's Spider-Man.

Just a so-called "Stark internship project" aroused Ned's intense curiosity.

If he knew about Spider-Man, wouldn't Ned pester him to death?

—Fourth Period

Finally, the science class that Peter had been looking forward to arrived.

Their science courses were somewhat similar to a combination of physics, chemistry, geography, and biology courses. They covered a lot of content including earth sciences, electronics, environmental sciences, forensics, etc.

Therefore, science courses were divided into basic courses and advanced elective courses.

Generally speaking, you only needed to take the basic courses.

However, Peter originally planned to major in science and engineering in college, so he needed to lay a solid foundation in high school.

Therefore, science courses were also one of the "required courses" he chose after enrolling.

And science is naturally inseparable from experiments.

Midtown High School had abundant funds, and the laboratory had a wide variety of experimental equipment and chemicals, which was almost comparable to some medium-sized private laboratories.

To facilitate students' experiments, as long as something was lacking, the school would immediately arrange for personnel to purchase it and replenish it soon.

Peter took an elective course in materials science, which meant that when doing material experiments, he could secretly use the experimental drugs to make the spider silk he wanted to use as Spider-Man.

This time, he made two types of spider silk.

One was the original spider silk he used himself, and the other was the spider silk used by the Amazing Spider-Man (who some called the Superior Spider-Man in an alternate universe).

He was interested in seeing the difference between the webbing used by the Amazing Spider-Man and the webbing he used as the mainstream Spider-Man.

After all, they were the same person in different universes.

In fact, after he discovered that he had gained abilities similar to those of spiders, he deliberately took Biological Science as an elective and carefully searched for a lot of information related to spiders.

He learned that spiders are a very large family with many kinds. Different spiders can produce different silk, weave different webs, and have different life strategies.

Even a single spider may produce many different types of silk.

For example, a spider called the Orchard Spider can produce 7 different types of spider silk - some for weaving webs, some for hunting, some for escaping, and some for weaving egg sacs.

If this was the case with natural spiders, how could the spider silk of each different Spider-Man be exactly the same when that spider ability entered the human body?

And if they could analyze different samples of spider silk from different Spider-Men, study out the secrets, and figure out the main factors causing these differences - such as morphological characteristics, amino acid composition and sequence, protein secondary structure, mechanical properties, and biological functions, etc.

Perhaps he could use this to develop a new type of bio-fiber material that could be used to make lighter and more breathable bio-fiber clothing, lighter but stronger bio-fiber ropes, or even silk threads for suturing wounds after surgery, etc.

Spider silk could be said to be the natural fiber material with the most excellent comprehensive properties discovered so far!

Materials science had always been one of the most important components of modern science. Polymer materials, inorganic non-metallic materials, metal materials, composite materials, etc., were used in all aspects of modern human life.

Its industry prospects were very good!

And this was what Peter could think of after pondering for a few lessons that he could use to truly cooperate with Tony Stark!

Tony Stark himself said that even he was amazed by Peter's homemade biological spider silk.

A biological material that could make even Iron Man praise him should be able to earn him his first pot of gold, right?

Peter knew that the gold-titanium alloy used in Iron Man's suit was actually a high-strength alloy created by Stark himself.

How could the Stark Group still have such a large size after giving up the hugely profitable weapons manufacturing industry?

In the final analysis, it lay in three aspects: materials, energy, and healthcare!

Energy referred to the Arc reactor used on the Iron Man suit and the ultra-large reactor built in Stark Tower. It was not only the clean and huge energy output of the reactor but also the high efficiency and low energy consumption technologies.

This alone was enough to make Stark Group a giant.

In terms of healthcare, Stark Group had a large number of hospitals, many medical laboratories, and even "Cradle of Life", a black technology that incorporated nanotechnology.

As for materials, in addition to the gold-titanium alloy used in the Iron Armor, there were also polymer composite materials, nanomaterials, etc., which were also Stark's technologies.

Peter didn't dare to think about other things for now.

But making spider silk was his specialty.

Peter effortlessly followed the two formulas in his mind to make his own and the Amazing Spider-Man's spider silk specimens on glass slides to observe them under a microscope.

Under the Olympus C-35AD optical microscope, the biological properties of spider silk were well demonstrated.

Peter also discovered that there was indeed a noticeable difference between the two types of spider silk!
