The sharp pain in his chest didn't even happened often, so it might be just starting now and will stop soon.
Ravan ignored the pain and got the eggs, careful not to crush them, and steadily flew back to the hole.
The milky dawn sky was being covered by gray clouds when Ravan reached the hole, so he quickly got inside and descended down.
"Grandpa!" A soft voice called, then another and another as about 8 children was up, greeting their grandpa or was waking the others up, pointing to the eggs and hawk in his hands.
"Look, grandpa has eggs." Ray whispered to China.
"Is Grandpa going to make good food from it? Because I would gladly eat some. Even the some to Raha and Devon." China whispered back, but then Lila shot a look at China, "You forgot Hana."
But China's ear feathers only twitched, slightly bothered but not bothered at all.
"Grandpa, are you going to share the food with us?" 8 year old Ray asked, pointing to the hawk and eggs in his hand.
It took a while for him to answer, because the pain in his chest didn't stop.
"Ye-yes. I'm going to make it now, but I really just need fire." He said, wheezing but thinking about where the hole for the fire is going to be.
"Susan and Suga, can you help me and get some dry sticks? There's going to be rain today, you can smell it in the air." Then Ravan sniffed, picking up the scent of rain to check if he was still right.
Susan looked questionly at Ravan. "How about water? There's none here." She asked curiosity.
"There is, pink headed child. It's hidden that rocks over there." Pointing using the hawk hand, Ravan pointed to the place he just found water only yesterday.
Susan beamed and Suga obviously knew about it already.
"Ok, grandpa."
"You can drink when you come back, or outside, so off you go, the smell of rain is closer than before." Ravan shooed the two crestfallens away to the hole he had used, which cool air was whispering to get more colder.
They took off, struggling to fly straight, but it was still good.
They hadn't got their wings to stretch in a long time, didn't they? Their expressions and body signs are weak for having young and strong wings already.
Before it all happened, Suga and Susan was most likely the best flyers of the children in the type city village, and they were always trying to be better than each other.
Sighing, Ravan gently told the children to move so he can walk to the water from the mountain.
Alya came to help, her halo bobbing up and down has she walked.
It was milky yellow, and she had a more rare bloodline then all of them, with her brother, Berry.
But Berry didn't have a halo hovering over his head, it was on his wrist, which was warm if touched, but burned if he didn't want anybody to touch it.
Ayla asked Ravan questions about lots of things, her blonde hair and yellow eyes fitting perfectly with her character.
"Yes, yes you do. Your not weird, you and your brother just has a different mother then the rest."
Ravan answered a little hesitantly to Ayla's question, why nobody has halos instead of her and her brother, asking if it was weird being the only ones.
"It's just that your mother wasn't exactly a fallen, she was a full flight angel, but was on a mission down here and found your father as the one to do the mission with.
Even with your father being a fallen, he was also sent a mission, and brought me on it, soni knew about it." Ravan thought about the exciting adventures wishfully, then a sheering sharp pain came to his chest, and he immediately left the eggs and hawk, which feathers were off and was skinned clean, with Ayla to wash the feathers and eggs.
He sat down farther from the children, breathing heavily, out of breath. Then coughed.
Ok, so it's not that. I'm probably dying. His wings told him so too. They were old and too strong that much, so it was reasonable.
But then I can't rebuild the tribe again. He realized, then remembered about Suga and Susan. They know how to hunt, and can probably actually get food and find shelter for them all.
And Ayla, she knows how to skin and cook. It's probably alright. But Suga is the oldest and can't lead right.. Oaka cant lead either.. Berry and Ayla could. No, no, no.. Ayla is 5 and her brother is six.
Ravan was just thinking all of this for nothing, but the pain increased. Ah, I'm dying now
The realization of the situation he was in made he panic. "ARACELI!" Ravan screamed at Araceli, who was with his blind sister Ceil.
He jerked his head to Ravan, in full attention. For a young 9 year old boy to be that sharp, nice.
"Get Suga and Susan, take anyone above five with you." Ravan gasped, forgetting he was dying now.
Araceli hesitanted, then spoke, " Wh-who? Oaka? No, Oaka is 7.. Azula? Ok. Azula and China." Then he called for them.
Nobody was really bothered about Ravan screaming, because is was daytime and they thought he just needed food.
"What? What happened?" Azula the prankster spread his wings and hit both China and Araceli. They both hissed at him the same time, startling the 8 year old.
"Chill! Chill! I was just joking." He said nervously.
"This is no time to talk, Azula. Besides, we have to find the oldest kids!" China said representatively, Araceli already told her before Azula.
"Susan was just born before both of you, and she's bragging she's second oldest when y'all were only 5 minutes away!" And the voices faded into distance.
Ravan watched them go, since they already had learned how to fly already than the five and under year old children.
*******
*Now we are time skipping to afternoon.*
All the children were gathered around Ravan, who was still dying.
Nobody has eaten when they heard about Ravan dying, so now everything was respectful silence, instead the noise of Ravan wheezing.
"Don't worry," He said, trying to cheer them up, "not even one of you is ready for leadership!" He joked, but even Seren didn't laugh, who always laughs that any joke, even bad ones.
"It's easy.. just pick someone to lead you all." He said sympatheticly.
Then wheezed and took his last look and breath.
