Kilo stood there in the same spot until his legs grew tired. Then, Ayla came stumbling in with a huge mud pot, firm and not breaking, with Ceil clinging to Seissylt's wings.
"I smell a strange scent," Ceil exclaimed as soon as she entered the cove.
"That's Kilo, the new boy." Ayla hissed through gritted teeth, setting down the pot on the cold stone table.
Seissylt nodded respectfully at Kilo, red bags under her eyes, and a crystal in her hands, blinking yellow and green.
Ayla opened the pot's top, and to Kilo's surprised, 9 roasted fish and another bowl was inside, smelling quickly of rabbit stew.
Suga yelped with joy. "You actually roasted it!?" His voice rised with contentment.
"Yes, I did." Ayla replied and her halo glowed warmly with happiness.
Fallen angels has no magic whatsoever. Space birds were literally like sky cousins, and they could use it. So fallen angels had to use twigs to make fires, and fetch water.
Kilos mouth watered, and he licked his lips, suddenly feeling biting hunger from not eating at all.
"Can I have some?" Was what Kilo wanted to say, but he restricted himself from that and said, "I can pass out the food. Is this all the people?"
Alya greatfully locked eyes with Kilo, her bright yellow eyes locked with deep purple ones, and said, "thank you! And no, it's not only us."
Soon enough, Oaka, Araceli, Susan, and China walked in. Oaka was carrying Raha and Hana, while half blind Araceli was carrying Devon.
The babies didn't cry, for all of Kilo's surprise.
It's easier traveling in a group, or is it the food is not short? Either way, they all say down, even the babies held a chair.
Suga looked satisfied, and turn to Kilo saying, "you have questions, yes? But first, come and eat." He invited.
**********
Between eating, Kilo thought it was the right time to ask the children why they are underground, and try to related to the story of how they went to hiding.
"That's.." Araceli looked at Suga and Susan, who was having a hard time talking.
"That's because the fallen angel race is doomed to extinction." Araceli offered to tell him.
Kilo faked gasped, but at the same time gasped, they really believe that? And flicked his tail in annoyance. His face feathers and wings twitching with tension.
"What happened? Why is it doomed?" Kilo asked, aware of the story already.
Araceli stopped, then said, "I can tell you part of the story, but not after hiding." His clear and cloudy blue eyes flicking to the other members, seeing if they would object. Nobody did, but they just continued eating, Oaka feeding the babies one by one.
"Ok, so. You must know what fallen angels are, right? Because you have similar wings to use, the feathered face too. But, the only difference is your tail, which I don't know what species you are." Then Araceli paused, and said, "ok, you have no questions. The fallen angel race was very great. They were second to the species called 'Space Birds,' not similar to us but was like siblings or sky comrades. But then, a new and powerful Disease came to be, and took out a lot of Space birds. It was a EF4 to EF5, even though it was that low, it was still more powerful then a EF7." Araceli sighed as he remembered what Grandpa had said about the story.
"The Space birds natural home was discovered and destroyed, but our home hadn't been attacked yet, so they followed their instincts and made it to our city village.
And it appears that some of the new Diseases followed them, shortly after, our own homes were attacked.
Peace was never the answer for the Fallen angels, though, because the Diseases stopped attacking the Space birds and attacked us.
It was studied that they liked our flesh more, and the Space birds were gladly hunting us down to keep them away and happy, so that they don't have to worry about being attacked and eaten." Then Araceli shivered, looking at Ceil who was blind and never knew about it.
"I wasn't originally half blind," Araceli confessed, "and Ceil was most definitely not blind." Ceil heard her name and nodded, eating another roasted fish.
"I was blinded so I can not escape, but Araceli and Mother helped me after I was captured by Space birds." Ceil proudly said, looking at space but Kilo knew she was trying to detect her brother.
"Then how did you get blinded with one eye?" Kilo questioned, not actually knowing how these two got blinded. He only heard of it, not actually knowing how, exactly.
"The Space birds caught us getting Ceil away, and when they tried blinding me, Mother stepped up and blocked the blinding light, but since she was carrying Ceil instead, she didn't completely get infront and my right eye was blinded. Oh, don't blame me, I was in shock when they busted in screaming." The 9 year old said, closing his right eye and putting his hand over it, blocking the blind eye from sight.
"Where's Berry, guys?" Azula walked in when Araceli took his hand from his face.
Azula looked at the food, then back at them. "I already ate, just so you know, but I want a roasted fish, please?" He got in his knees and basically begged.
Small gray wings fluttered at the corner of Kilo's eyes as Ceil used her incredible earing skills.
Mumbling, she finally used a sarcastic tone, "Berry is in the room tunnel, sorting herbs." Then she turned suspiciously left and right, maybe trying to find Araceli.
Araceli laughed nervously, "I forgot to call him back, haha.. but I can go and get him!" He offered.
Ceil faceplamed herself, almost missing entirely.
**********
Kilo bowed and walked out of the door, the other children talking, with Suga obviously annoyed with them talking over their leader.
"Silence, silence I say!"
And Kilo walked out of hearing distance. He flexiblly worked his wings, the strange colors turning blue, red, white, black, and various others.
The crystal cave was still so beautiful, taking his breath away sometimes and not, him getting used to walking in the cave with loads of colors blinking in his face.
I'm going to have illusions of colors when I'm out, right?
He was going to talk to Berry, the apparent absolutely wonderful incredible information source.
-----
Berry was sourcing through herbs, taking mint from a herb Kilo, or from this Ravan memories, couldn't remember. His memories of being Ravan was fading, and he could do nothing about it but only write it down to read again.
Berry looked up as Kilo entered the room, holes all in the walls and leaves stacked high in the biggest hole.
No crystals were there except for one green and black crystal. It made the room look somewhat welcoming.
He blinked, confused, then realization flowed into his eyes.
"Oh! You're that person that I took cared of! Strangely, you had no injury but was unconscious." Then Berry trailed his eyes to his unnatural color of wings and tail.
"Um, what species are you?" He asked, smiling soundlessly.
Kilo flicked his tail, knowing Berry enough to know he's just getting information. "I'm not Space bird, if you're wondering. I'm a species that's called 'Demilune.'"
Basically a demigod, at that. Even though the word 'Demilune' means a half or crest moon, the boy once told him whenever someone asks him what species he was with, he should always say 'Demilune,' just to make them confused and not question again, since their species wasn't even known to all of the world. Well, maybe.
Berry just stared at Kilo, maybe searching his brain for the word 'Demilune' and its nature. "Um, ok.. what do you want. Are you hurt? Wait, how did you get down here with nobody leading you? Actually, what's with your strange color and wings? No, no, no, you have a very obvious tail, is your race that sassy?"
Berry rambled on about how Kilo was very very different from the other children, and he didn't listen to a word of it.
"Your now my favorite person! Actually, after Ayla." Then that caught Kilo's attention and he just stared at Berry's halo in doom.
