Chapter 2 - Potential Value Scanner

--- Chapter 2 ---

The next day, Sun Yi opened his eyes with great difficulty and groaned in pain.

"What the..." He was on his bed and felt his entire body burning like no tomorrow.

"Xia, Xia, where are you?"

"Sixth Prince, you're awake!"

Sun Yi spotted Lu Xia from the corner of his eyes. She was meditating on the floor and opened her eyes when he called her.

"I will call a physician." Before Sun Yi could stop her, Lu Xia vanished into thin air and left him in agony.

Sun Yi furrowed his brows and sighed, "Endure it, endure it, Sun Yi."

After a couple of seconds, Lu Xia returned with a middle-aged man in a white robe.

"Physician Bing. Please, do a checkup on the Sixth Prince's body again."

"Sixth Prince." Physician Bing smiled and bowed at Sun Yi.

Sun Yi nodded and replied, "Do it."

Physician Bing grabbed Sun Yi's hand and checked his pulse while flowing his Primal Qi inside. At the same time, he applied a healing technique on him.

Sun Yi breathed in and out peacefully, feeling really comfortable.

The heat disappeared.

Physician Bing stared at Sun Yi and said, "Sixth Prince is healthy. As I said earlier, the prince probably stressed out and fainted."

"But the Sixth Prince had a nosebleed earlier..." Lu Xia was worried.

The middle-aged doctor shook his head, "It's normal to have a nosebleed when you have so many things to think about. Haven't you seen someone throwing out blood because of Qi Deviation?"

"Well, that's different." Lu Xia pouted slightly.

"Haha, but the principle is similar. Just let the Sixth Prince rest for a day or two, and I will prescribe some mind-calming medicine." Physician Bing bowed to Sun Yi and then excused himself.

Sun Yi leaned on the bedframe and gazed at Physician Bing's back, "You haven't told my mother, right?"

"No, Sixth Prince. I know you wouldn't want your royal mother to panic because of your health."

"Good. You also called Physician Bing and not other Physicians. He's pretty tight-lipped about his patient's condition."

"Mm." Lu Xia nodded gently.

Sun Yi closed his eyes and recalled the sensation he had before fainting into the slumber. He opened his eyes and felt the sensation triggered upon seeing Lu Xia.

Above Lu Xia's head is a familiar string of numbers.

111,691. It is Lu Xia's potential value.

As for the blue spear-shaped aura around her body, it is probably the most suitable path for her.

Sun Yi needs to do a lot of tests if he wants to know more about his new ability.

"Hmm?" He noticed something in the corner of his eyes.

A jade ornament is sitting on the table motionlessly, but he can see its potential value and aura.

"An object also has potential value and aura? Err, 692, that's pretty low."

"The aura, it's a bracelet?"

"Does that mean the jade ornament would become much better if it became a bracelet? So confusing."

Sun Yi looked around his bedroom and tested every object that he could test on.

"Sixth Prince..." Lu Xia thought Sun Yi had become insane because he had been spouting nonsense for minutes.

Of course, Sun Yi didn't care about his maid's misunderstanding.

He's currently trying his new ability to the fullest.

Unfortunately, Sun Yi's ability seems to cost him mental power, which could only last for ten minutes.

After ten minutes, Sun Yi felt a head throbbing headache.

"Uugh." Sun Yi clutched his head. "Xia, water."

"Right away, Sixth Prince!" Lu Xia quickly handed him a glass of water.

Sun Yi drank the water and wiped his mouth, "Okay, I think I get the gist of this ability."

"I'm basically a potential value scanner now. For ten minutes, that is."

"Although an object could have potential value and aura, not every object has it. Only something that has a trace of spirituality has it."

"Anything with less than two digits are ordinary household items."

"Two digits are an uncommon item."

"Three digits are a rare item with small Primal Qi inside."

"Then, four digits are an item with strong Primal Qi inside. That's a first-grade Spiritual Artifact."

"Five digits are..." Sun Yi rubbed his chin. "A second-grade Spiritual Artifact?"

"Lastly, six digits. I only see them on Lu Xia, which means her potential is higher than second-grade Spiritual Artifacts or more."

"But I could be wrong. After all, Lu Xia is a living being while the others are just objects..."

In the Primal Qi World, there are Three Great Realms.

They are called the Earth, Spiritual, and Heaven Realm.

Each Realm has twelve minor realms.

The minor realms have four steps of mastery. They are entry, middle, advanced, and peak.

Although everyone cultivated Primal Qi, the way they cultivated it is different.

Earth Realm feeds Primal Qi with their Blood Qi. After reaching the peak Earth Realm, Blood Qi sublimed into Spiritual Qi and advanced Primal Qi into the 2nd tier. Similarly, Spiritual Qi transformed into Spiritual Aether upon reaching the Heaven Realm, and Primal Qi advanced into the 3rd tier.

Artifacts and weapons also followed the same grading system.

For example, 1st Level Earth Weapon, and goes on.

However, Sun Yi doesn't know how to grade them based on their potential value.

And that's what Sun Yi tried to do for the next week.

He tested the Potential Value Scanner until he was tired and got enough data to determine the exact significance.

Apparently, it was a beneficial mental exercise, and Sun Yi felt his mind was much faster in processing information now.

Well, his efforts bore quite a fruit.

Sun Yi has determined the rough potential grade and aura.

One digit is an ordinary item.

Two digits are an uncommon or rare item below the Earth Realm.

Three digits are an Earth Realm.

Well, at least from level one to level six.

Four digits are also an Earth Realm.

It starts from levels seven to twelve.

Five digits are when the grading system becomes weird.

Technically speaking, anything below six digits should be only the 10th level of the Spiritual Realm.

But no, a 96,000 potential value is akin to the 12th level of the Spiritual Realm. The remaining 3,999 are qualitative increases, more of a detail that puts extra quality than others.

Then, a 100,000 potential value is a qualitative increase once more.

Sun Yi only saw a six-digit potential value from two subjects, Lu Xia and an ancient statue at the center of the Sirius Ancient Palace. It means Lu Xia has Heaven-grade potential.

Currently, Sun Yi is staring at the Sirius Statue, which was the Star-Eating Wolf and the bloodline ancestor of the Sirius Imperial Family.

He used a Potential Value Scanner and looked at the statue's potential value and purple aura.

Oh, yeah. The potential aura also has different grades.

They are white, gray, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

There might be more, but Sun Yi hasn't seen them yet.

At first, Sun Yi thought the aura described the subject's future path, but that wasn't it. The aura is actually one's most suitable development path in that situation.

Sun Yi tested it on Lu Xia by telling her to train in spear technique. The spear-shaped aura has transformed into a wind-like aura after one week.

On the other hand, an object is different. The potential aura on an object indicates two things. What could it become, or what could it provide?

And Sirius Statue is more of the latter.

Sun Yi meditated and let his strengthened mental power into the Sirius Statue. He gritted his teeth, enduring a powerful Primal Qi from the statue, and suddenly received a secret knowledge.

Three words echoed in Sun Yi's mind.

Sirius Titanium Body.

Sun Yi blinked and opened his blue eyes, "Sirius Titanium Body..."

"The statue actually holds Body Tempering Technique?"

"But this also confirms my theory."

He clenched his hands, "With this Potential Value Scanner, I could discover hidden treasure, train, and survive in this world."

"No, I might as well become a Qi Master and create a harem while doing my best. Let's GO!"

"This is a cultivation world. I will keep a low profile and not cause any trouble. I can cultivate at ease."

"I'm a genius!"

"Hahaha~!" Sun Yi's crazy laughter echoed in an empty field.

"Sixth Prince... He's become more crazy after one week." Lu Xia couldn't help but wipe her teary eyes. "This is my fault."

"Should I tell Madam about this?"

"At this rate, the Sixth Prince would be beyond saving."

"Sorry, Sixth Prince. It is for your own good." Soon, Sun Yi received a call from his mother.
